The new principal at EHS is working hard to make this amazing school even better. Some teachers are duds… but most are engaged and supportive. My kid had a great experience the 23-24 school year.

I have had two children go through EHS and they both have had amazing experiences! One of my students needed a little learning support and received amazing non-intrusive guidance from the support staff. Academics comes easily for my other child. She has been encouraged to challenge herself and has had a wonderful experience in AP classes. Both of my children take advantage of the sensational athletics programs at EHS. I would strongly encourage enrolling your children at EHS!

There are some amazing teachers at EHS. They deserve 5 stars for the support they provide the students who need it most. This review is focused on the administration - the school is poorly led by an ineffectual principal. He prioritizes sports and high achieving students. He doesn't support performing arts or other programs that are so crucial to the kids who are "different." The principal has let athletes & students whose parents fund sports get away with egregious behaviors that are entirely unacceptable (vandalizing a teacher's classroom, drug possession & usage on school grounds, athletes being intoxicated on school buses). He always finds a scapegoat to take the fall for his failure to effectively lead. Most of the teachers don't respect him, and neither do many of the parents. To many kids, he's a joke.

Review as a former student who is now in college: Evergreen High School is great in many ways, though the social community and staff handling is terrible, and what made my experience here downright awful. I will break down most aspects of this school and why you may or may not want to send your child here. Staff: The vast majority of “good” teachers are in the science and elective departments. Most (AP/honors) teachers do have some sort of passion for what they are teaching which in turn makes classes more fun. However… nearly all staff have a “favorites” problem. They’re not sneaky with it either. If you make it into an AP class, boy, you will receive tons of benefits solely because the teacher likes you. Not to mention this school does not care at all for students who do not take the “honors/AP route”. Many teachers that teach non-AP classes are sports coaches or otherwise blatantly not right for the job… Might I add that the richest students who’s parents throw money at EHS’s funding (which is poorly managed) get better treatment. Students who do not actively try to get favorited by teachers are simply not treated as well (socially and academically in my opinion). Summary: Teachers have a favorites problem and if you’re not rich, white, or popular, good luck! /sSchool community: This varies based off the student. If you’re rich, white, and considered “popular” you would say that the community is great, fun, etc. If you’re not any of those, most I’ve talked to hate it. Everyone basically hates each other because of this massive clique problem EHS has. The staff don’t care about bullying or anything related, and if they are called to handle it, it is for the benefit of the school’s image, not the students. There is NO diversity in this school. 99% of kids are white. When I went there, there were about 3 black kids in the ENTIRE SCHOOL, and 2/3 of them were bullied. Good luck finding friends if you didn’t go to the middle school, as no one wants to make friends. Stress:EHS takes pride in its academic image. Oh, they sure always reminded us about the school image (pressure). Classes are extremely stressful as half the teachers don’t know what they’re doing on top of an unaccepting community. I was stressed 100% of my time there. Funding:EHS lacks funding. Parents donate to whatever benefits their kid (football). the AC never even worked. Awful school. Glad I made it out. Don’t send your poor kid here. Lifetime of therapy awaits for them.

This school is great with their IEP program. If your child need extra help, this is the place. Only 3 stars because the AP program is not good, it is only more home work.

The school does not have a student-centered approach to conflict resolution and communication.

Great school if your child is an honors/AP type student; absolutely terrible if your child has any learning challenges--go elsewhere.

Great principal and new, awesome athletic director (he was the principal previously and great in that role also). Classes include a wide variety of challenging Honors and AP courses with a majority of superb teachers. Student demographics tends to be a bit homogenous and could benefit from diversity, but this is mainly a reflection of the makeup of the local community overall. Kudos to the majority of the student body because they are focused on getting the best education possible.

We are a family who has historically sent our children to expensive private schools but decided to give EHS a try for our 9th grader as we had heard such amazing things about the school. Our expectations were exceeded. Fabulous teachers and amazing sports programs for all athletic levels. Above all, our teenager is happy there and looks forward to going to school everyday.

Please whomever wrote the reviews earlier, collage is a type of artwork, I believe you want to prepare your kids for college! I'll go ahead and ignore your two reviews, but thanks!

This "school" is merely a joke with some teachers that only enter in one or two assignments for the SEMESTER! I do have to say that some teachers are absolutely incredible and amazing. However, the schools lacks a distinct spirit that is depressing, particularly due to the new principal. Haven't heard a single person say "I'm proud to be from EHS". They try covering it up by saying "we're so proud to be 468th in academia rating nationally" when so It is the parents only hire tutors to increase that ranking. In fact, that statistic is more depressing than celebratory.

Not a school that prepares students for collage! It was very easy for our kids to get A's but not so easy when they enter Collage!

This school is great if you just want to get by in life. But if you want to learn or ask question well you better find a different school. Just look at all the kids that live here and don't attend this High school. Also check how many kids not only go to collage but complete with 4 year degree?? In less then 10 years? Scary place but great Dr--s! So glad to get out of this school.

Our two youngest have had the advantage of growing up in Jeffco. EHS offers tons of opportunities because of passionate teachers and involved parents. Arts & Music are very professional, sports/cheerleading/poms have great participation. The school partners well with Red Rocks and Warren Tech for things it doesn't provide, This is a top 20 school in Colorado and it shows.

This school is terrible and cliquey. The teachers seem to have taken on the stuck up attitude that the overly rich community of Evergreen all possess. If you want to do well here, you're gonna have to find a way to work your way into its screwed up political dynamics. You won't be noticed unless you do so, by students and teachers alike. Beware of this 'school'.

This school is fantastic, you are going to encounter the odd issue just as with any other school, but overall there is not a lot to complain about. Teachers are passionate and generally involved in their students learning. The curriculum can be as rigorous as you'd like it to be, honors and AP classes being much more challenging than regular classes, but both are good for the students they aim to teach. Yes diversity is low, but that's just part of living in Evergreen, if you live here you know that. Overall, the school provides a great environment in which you can thrive, but as with most things, it is what you make of it.
