Watch out! There are a number of wonderful teachers here but also a few old school teachers that use shame and punishments as motivation. The Principal always backs the teacher. She plays favorites among the parents, students and staff. I regret sending my kids here. If you get one of the great teachers and your child doesn't need any additional support, you should be fine. If not, make sure you know your parental rights and good luck.

My daughter goes to this school. We have been really happy with the teachers and the progress she has been making. They are fostering a love for learning which is all I can really ask for at this stage of her development. I feel that will help carry her through as the work gets harder and build up resilience. Her teacher is very supportive of my daughter’s eccentricities too (she has sensory issues and a very strong will so her attire can often be on the theatrical end of the spectrum) which means that she has no negative feelings towards school. We have loved the community feel of the school.

I attended Township as a child, from grades 3 through 6 (1993 through 1997), after attending an LAUSD school from K-2. As a child, I was enchanted by the physical difference from the city school I went to (Township had more grassy spaces, mountain views, a clean campus, no graffiti/vandalism). I also felt I learned a lot from the teachers, most of whom were passionate about their calling. I credit my 5th and 6th grade teachers with cultivating my love of writing!

I take offense with the previous review. Not only are there many spelling and grammatical errors, but the theatrics and exagerration are ludicrous! So, only parents who "don't love" their children and wish to "destroy their (and it's 'their', NOT 'there") self esteem" send them to Township? This has got to be one of the most idiotic things I've ever read! I wonder at the circumstances behind the supposed segregation of the previous writer's child. Are the statements accurate or merely an angry parent's ravings. I have two children attending Township for the first time. Both are excelling in their GATE cluster classes and have wonderful teachers who have shown nothing but support and guidance towards the children left in their care. I have also had discussions with the principal and have found her to be fair minded with the strength and integrity to work towards establishing the school as a safe learning environment. My advice, parents take the time to tour and meet the staff of any school you may be interested in. Keep in mind that one hostile review could be merely the rantings of a hostile person with no accurate bearing on the school itself.

I removed my son from this school when a teacher made fun of him, then proceeded to segregate him from the rest of the class! Township Elementary School of Simi Valley CA is a terrible school. The principal will have the teachers back when she was clearly WRONG!!! I would recommend this school to know one!!! only put your child in this school if you DON'T love him/her, and really want to DESTROY there self esteem
