The students at this school learn a wide variety of skills academically and socially. Their teachers really care about the whole child, inside and out. They work towards academic, as well as social emotional goals to help the students learn empathy and compassion for others. Having children with special needs on campus really has a positive impact for all students. Thanks to Mrs. Perryman, my child always felt safe and supported there. They also offer opportunities for parents to volunteer as well as parent education. Overall, I am very impressed by the school.

Garden Grove has made the elementary school process feel so inclusive. Not only do they support my student but they invlove us as his family. They are so informative. The Principal Mrs. Feinstein truly cares about all her students and goes above and beyond to make them all heard and supported! I applaud each and every teacher for their encouring and endless hard work! Excited for the years to come.

Great school!! We love it!! My 9-year old son has been attending this school since second grade and every teacher has been great. I really wish we had started sooner. The Principal, Mrs. Feinstein, and teachers are very dedicated and always willing to improve and work hard for the best of our children. This is a school that attends special needs and their kindness and sensitivity shows all over. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

I had to post when I read the only negative comment about a late teacher, I have twins at this school (two teachers per grade per year). I have not seen a late teacher in 7 years, also the kids follow their respective teachers into their classrooms in the morning. The IMACT academy is awesome, all of the teachers at this school are outstanding. Their is strong support at after school events from the school staff. The principal is great, she has lots of experience. The teachers themselves created the IMPACT academy so the concept was not forced on them thats why it works so well. I can't say enough great things about this school.

The entire staff is very dedicated to the children. Friendly and helpful to parents. The programs and activities they bring to inspire our kids are amazing. The science lady even had the parents in awe! The music man, leadership club...etc. Great school, my kids are so happy to go to school every morning! : )

I have had two children at this school now. One is in high school, and the other is now in 1st grade. I can tell you the staff is amazing and the IMPACT Program definitely sets this elementary school apart from others. This is a school of choice for us, and I was thrilled when my second child was accepted, as our home school is , in my opinion, not even sufficient. Garden Grove goes far beyond good, well into the excellent category for ratings. There is an exploration center, which is a room devoted to science and exploration with science experiments set up weekly by a devoted science team of teachers. There is a full computer lab which all grades participate in, and a set of chromebooks that are utilized by all grades on a weekly basis. Technology is not just a small part of the learning environment here, which is so important in today's changing world. They have a weekly music lesson provided by "The Music Man" and the children in all grades learn about music and instruments, then perform twice during the year for their parents and the other grades. ies for the children and their families.

I have two daughters, in Kindergarten and third grade, and we have had an amazing experience with Garden Grove. The school has excellent programs and the teachers are beyond phenomenal. I am truly thankful to have teachers in my daughters' lives who not only provide the tools and resources for their success, but the encouragement as well!!

The teachers are wonderful. Teaching is an Art and they seem to have mastered it. My son loves his teacher and his friends. I love the teachers, parents, PTA, staff, and students. Garden Grove is like a warm hug, very welcoming.

My children have been at Garden Grove for many years. Several have moved on and I currently have one still at the school. I have seen quite a few changes in administration and office staff, some teacher changes (although not many given the length of time we've been at the school, in my opinion),the implementation of the IMPACT Academy a few years ago, and playground and building improvements. Overall I have been very satisfied with the quality of teaching staff, the learning environment, responsiveness of staff and teachers, programs, and overall community feel of the school. To the Parent below who complained about teacher(s) arriving to school after the class, I can think of one teacher (who we were very fortunate to have as a teacher) who sometimes arrives after the class and my guess is that the teacher has as many juggling issues with children and logistics as many of us and does the best possible. I can say for certain that the teacher I am referring to is one of the best teachers one's child could ever have, and has proven this to me, and I would guess anyone else who has been in the class, year after year after year...

Garden Grove is not our home school, but it was recommended by a good friend. I am so glad she did, because my son has thrived in Kindergarten. Impressed with Garden Grove!

I have not been impressed with the teachers, programs, campus...nothing about this school is great. There are teachers that arrive as school is starting (students wait inside the classroom BEFORE their teacher is even on campus. Teachers should be there long before their students, and not be late to their own class). This happens daily, not just once or twice. There is nothing great about their "IMPACT" program either. Nothing outstanding at all to this school. If you have other choices, TAKE THEM.

Garden Grove is not our neighborhood school. We chose to send our kids here because of the school's emphasis on academic curiosity, critical thinking, and problem solving. We think all children benefit from the hands-on experiences in the school's Exploration Lab and from the science-themed Family Nights. We have been extremely impressed with the quality of the teachers here and would recommend the school based on faculty performance alone. The school recently acquired a new principal and we have found her to be dedicated to the students' welfare as well as very receptive to parent input. The staff supports and encourages parental involvement and a sense of community. We have been pleased with our tenure here.

My daughter started here in 4th grade. It has been a positive experience for her. The teachers here really make their students think. She has a reasonable amount of homework. They have family events which are nice for us since this is not our neighborhood school. The after school program is a safe place for her to get exercise and start her homework. As a working parent, it is important to me to know that she's just as safe after school as during the school day. Overall, we have been very happy at Garden Grove.

My son transferred to Garden Grove as a new upper-grade student this year. What a turn-around for him! He now has academic curiosity and a desire to learn and explore, thanks to his teacher's creative teaching methods and the accountability she instills in her students. It's been a great year so far and I have recommended Garden Grove IMPACT Academy to everyone!

The teachers in Garden Grove have worked very well with parents, and always keeping us informed as to our childs needs. A BIG thanks to Mrs. Aiani, Mrs. Ramseth, Mrs. Moss and Mrs Coleman.. Garden Grove IMPACT Academy is a great school. We have attended this school for six years now and cannot say enough about it. Transforming into a IMPACT Academy this year with the focus on Critical Thinking, Math and Science has really shown its colors. My students come home with great questions and information. They are really excited to be learning things out of the textbook. Their Exploratory Lab is fabulous. My kids visit the lab once a week for demonstrations or experiments or to explore whatever the study is for the time. When you have very few if any students leaving to middle school from 5th here and choose to stay here for their 6th grade, it speaks volumes. The 5th and 6th teacher team ROCKS! I believe they really care about their students and want to ensure the transition to middle school is as smooth and prepared as possible. They have a diverse population in that our special needs students are included with the typical child and our students are, I feel, better prepared to handle different people and situations in everyday life. Our students show tremendous character! "A" in my book. However, would love to see more parent involvement. Their PTA is active.

Garden Grove is not our neighborhood school--we chose to come here because of how impressed we were with the entire staff and their new science, math and critical thinking program (called the IMPACT Academy) during a visit. We could not be more thrilled with Principal Mary Curtis (who is always circulating in the school and seems to know all of the 550 kids by name), the teachers (who have been amazing at teaching, very dedicated and incredibly caring) and the IMPACT Academy, which encourages kids to ask questions and explore the answers themselves with an emphasis on hands-on activity. This school may not have the highest test scores in the district, but that is because of so many special needs students there. Even though our child is not special needs, we see that the school has a more flexible attitude toward children's learning overall as a result, such as encouraging kids who are ahead in some areas (such as reading) to go to the next grade class for part of the day to be more challenged. As news spreads about the IMPACT Academy program and the teaching staff overall, we think that Garden Grove will be one of the most coveted schools in Simi Valley.
