We have been very happy with the school as a whole.

Best kept secret in Simi! Amazing leadership. Best, knowledgeable, kind, caring teachers. Hands-on, real-world learning. Great communication with parents and intervention when necessary. Great field-trips, school festivals and events, assemblies. And, of course, a one-of-a-kind year end dance festival that involves all students. Can't beat the school spirit!

I have three kids at this school (two currently and one who just moved on to middle school). We love the culture of the school and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a caring environment for their kids to learn.

I have taught at White Oak for 24 years. Both of my daughters attended White Oak and I'm hoping my grandson will come here for kindergarten. The staff, students, and parents are wonderful.

This school is top notch. Highly dedicated teachers and support staff, and the principal, Dr. Knox, is in a league of her own. Everyone I encounter thinks very highly of this school. I feel very fortunate to have both of my boys attend here.

I love being a part of a family centered school. White Oak has been our school since 2003. I have three children that attend and we love this school. The parents are friendly and help out with the variety of our events. The teachers are all great and work together to make our school run smoothly. Our new principal (of 1 1/2 years now) is fantastic! She is a great listener and runs our school beautifully. I love the fact that our school is a family school and tends to have events that the whole family can enjoy such as astronomy night, library night, magic shows and more. We also have a great PTA. Cant say enough about White Oak.

White Oak is one of the best elementary schools in the district. Some schools in the district have higher scores, but most of those schools get to pick and choose their students, which creates higher scores based mostly on their demographic and not because of what is happening in the classroom. Don t be fooled. The administration and staff at White Oak are committed to the advancement of their student population and carefully examine the individual needs of each student in order to promote success. My student feels an amazing sense of family and loves going to White Oak and learning.

My wife and I are very pleased with this school. Parent participation is high and the staff at the school are very involved. I was hesitant to send my child to public school, but this school has surpassed all expectations.

I am so happy with this school. The K-2 class at White Oak has given me a new hope about public school. I am very pleased to read the disappointed review (Jan 18) because it shows that the staff at White Oak won't be pushed over by some ridiculous parent who wants to send her child to school with no regard for what is proper and promotes a learning environment. The staff is wonderful, and the parents are really down to earth and nice. There seems to be a lot of parent participation too. I like that kindergarten has homework and requires parent participation. School is not a daycare or a babysitter; it's a place for learning and setting values. I think White Oak has done a great job doing this...very similar to how some of the private schools I looked at operate.

A California distinguished school but I feel not worth that title. They push students a lot, send them home with an awful lot of homework (2 hrs a day, even K has homework) and generally go to fast. I am not just saying that because my child has a hard time keeping up but because half the class is at risk for retention and recommended after school tutoring. If I could do it all over again I would not enroll my child at White Oak.

Was very disappointed in the Staff at this school today, my son went to school last week with his fau-hawk, not a true mohawk from front of head to back of neck, and there was no problem. His hair may be about an inch long mind you. So today January 18, 2011 i sent him to school with the same hairstyle but with a little green gel in the spikes and they wanted to send him home? They said HIS HAIR was a distraction and "it was up to their personal opinion what is distracting" not what was stated in their student handbook. So i asked if they had crazy hair day where everybody wears their hair in a distracting style and they said yes. So it is not distracting when every student has colors and weird ponytails or hats, etc. then the principle tells me it is their policy to have your child well groomed.which made me feel like she was stating my child wasn't because of OUR choice of hairstyle!
