I would not recommend this school. They placed our 4th grade twins in a 5th grade class without our consent. We were told the class size would be 16 but they only had 4 other students in the class. We were placed in the homeschool collaborative program while we waited for two full-time spots. We were told the curriculum would be streamlined but 5 days prior to the first day of school we were notified that we can choose whatever curriculum we want and they will not be providing it. We were also scheduled for three days of parent training for the homeschool program however it was reduced to one day. Our main contact, the director of the program was fired one week before the commencing of school. Clearly what we were told and what unfolded were two very different things. We had lost our trust after day one of school, we requested an immediate call from the school to discuss our concerns but they ignored us for almost 48 hours. We decided to withdraw and request our tuition back (minus the one day of school we attended) due to ADA breaching our 4th grade contract. The head of the board and original founder of the school (G.V.) acted arrogantly towards me and attempted to bully me by using my own kids' words against me. Greg single handedly decided to keep our tuition and proceeded to tell us that we cannot pursue our tuition money nor could we hire an attorney to represent us....ADA breached the contract so therefore we can move forward however we choose, but Greg wanted to exercise his power and arrogance. I'm hoping this review will save the headache and emotional pain of others by avoiding this school all together. This school is full of narcissism and elitism. They are not to be trusted.

Wonderful curriculum and several genuine teachers. Unfortunately, there is a great chasm between teaching staff and administrative vision. This results in very negative experience for your kids.

Moved to HR for this school 6 years ago. It was a great decision - wonderful staff and community.

Exceptional - our children have flourished both academically and spiritually.

Our experience at Arma Dei Academy was horrible. They tell you all the things you want to hear but it is completely different once you are in there. The teachers have "favorite" students and let it be known. What a complete waste of money.

It’s the perfectly peaceful thing in our lives.

We absolutely love Arma Dei! It is truly a Christ centered school. The whole community is wonderful including the families, teachers and staff. We are so thankful for Arma Dei!

We are incredibly grateful for each year the Lord allows us to be an Arma Dei family. We are putting our kids in classrooms where they are receiving not only the very best learning, a focus on character formation, but they are being poured into with such love and Godly instruction. In our home we aim for Christ-centeredness and grace, and for love to be the predominant action. When our kids get to school, they are taught the same things. This school may not fit every family, but our family finds such relief in knowing that we do not have to fight against what they are being taught in the classroom. With little technology or focus on self, many of the distractions of a typical student’s day are eliminated in order that they can use their minds toward things of greater value: the Lord and the blessing of His creative gifts. The model of classical Christian education aligns with the natural development of a child, and we are amazed at how our kids not only enjoy learning but they have an extensive knowledge and connections across disciplines. It is truly fascinating to tour a museum with them! Additionally, on the list of the many reasons we love this school are the small class size and the culture of the community. Just to name a few!

This had been a great experience for our children. We are in our 3rd year at Arma Dei, and could not have asked for a better school. The integration of a Biblical worldview into ALL subjects was exactly what we were looking for, and they deliver.

Our children have been at Arma Dei for several years. The school has been a blessing to our family and to the community. We are entirely convinced that the Classical Christian education model is the best and are thankful to be a part of the school. The best decision you will make for your children's future.

The academic excellence combined with a Biblical worldview has benefitted our son - and our family - a tremendous amount. The teachers and staff are approachable and caring. It's a rigorous school that maintains high standards across the board.

Our three children have attended Arma Dei for four years. We love the academic excellence and strong biblical worldview in every subject.

Arma Dei has exceeded every expectation that our family had when choosing a school for our 2 children. The parents partner with faculty to guide our children in their academic, character, and life skills development while learning how to use their God given talent to serve one another and God.

We love everything about this school! It's Christ-focused environment, classical curriculum, small class sizes, loving faculty and staff, and close-knit community of families. Our children are flourishing in their faith AND academics. What a blessing to be apart of an organization raising kingdom builders.

We have sent our children here for several years. We chose this school for the curriculum and the promise of what it would become. As the years have gone by, we have been disheartened by the schools focus on growth, and not on fixing problems that currently exist. We feel like this focus is straight from the top. Parents (including us) are afraid to speak up, because of the repercussions that will follow. It is a very small school, so people will know if you accept scholarship money, and your opinion is heard in direct relation to the amount of money you donate. This school has potential to become something great, but it has not lived up to it.

We praise God for this school in multiple ways -- from its wonderful staff, to its organized administration, to its responsible Board, to the incredible education our children are receiving, to its execution of its overall mission ("to glorify God by providing a classical Christian education founded upon a biblical worldview which equips students to live purposefully and intelligently in service to God and others"). For those intimidated by the cost of education -- as we initially were -- I would encourage you to inquire about and pursue the scholarship programs available!

Sending our children to Arma Dei Academy is the best decision we have ever made around their education! The faculty is world-class and there is an intimate sense of community among the families. Most importantly, however, is the synthesis of an unwavering Christian Worldview with high academic standards, which shows up in everything from the curriculum to the way that parents are encouraged as partners in the education of our children. Our family is truly grateful for this school!

This school is exactly why Christians get a bad reputation. On the outside, everything is beautiful and you are told exactly what you want to hear. Deep down, there is no heart or follow through. A very disappointing school in many ways.

Why Latin: by Mrs. Holly Cory, Latin TeacherLatin is common and useful. Half of the English vocabulary is from Latin words and roots. As students study Latin they gain a better understanding of English and the Romance Languages. For example, pater patris is father in Latin. English words that come from Latin are patriarch, paternal, and patriot.Latin is the basis for the Romance Languages: Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, and Romanian. 90% of Romance Languages are based on Latin. Think of how easy it will be to learn one of these languages after studying Latin!Latin also provides root words for all of the modern sciences being an important part of science; Learning the names of plants, animals, and rocks is learning Latin.Additionally, studying Theology, Law, Government and Logic shows that Latin is integral to the vocabulary and terminology of each of these subjects. Legal terms are Latin, and many theological concepts are in Latin. People are created Imago Dei, in the image of God. The five Solas are all in Latin: Sola Scriptura (scripture alone), Sola Fide (faith alone), Sola Gratia (grace alone), Solus Christus (Christ alone), and Soli Deo Gloria (Glory to God alone).Latin develops and trains the mind. It is very systematic in its approach and takes on the qualities of order, discipline, structure, and logic. Students learn the importance of weekly memorization and review as they learn new vocabulary and chants each week. They also slowly learn how to translate from Latin to English as well as English to Latin.Latin is also easy to integrate into other subjects and in the study of the Bible. Isn’t that what education is all about? At Arma Dei Academy we don’t want our students to just learn for the sake of learning, we want them to integrate their education and faith into all areas of life. In principio erat Verbum… In the beginning was the Word… John 1:1

Arma Dei Academy is, hands down, the best school we have ever been a part of. We should know---Over the years we have home-schooled our 5 children and done home-school co-ops, public school, charter school and private school. ADA has provided an excellent education for our children scholastically but also by cultivating relationships and focusing on the Lord as the center of all we are. ADA helped prepare our son for High School in such a way that him attending a rigorous, college-prep school has not led him to be frustrated but to excelling. The staff at ADA are second to none as they truly love the children and want the best for them. The willingness to do whatever is needed in order for the children to thrive has been a huge blessing to our family.I highly recommend this school to anyone who loves the Classical model of education, wants their child's education to be Christ centered and who values the beauty of cultivating a life-long love of learning in their child.
