As a student who's at this school, I can say, it's horrible. It feels like I am not doing enough and the assignments they hand out aren't anything besides just reading and answering questions which I don't believe is enough to educate a student. my grades are horrid and no matter what I do, I still flunk and fail whatever I'm doing. I can't wait for the year to end, it's stressful.

This is, by far, and hands down, the worst learning experience my child has ever had. The amount of busy work assigned is incredible and unrealistic. Kids are not learning anything because they're so busy doing meaningless tasks. Some teachers do not care about the amount of work assigned, and it is far worse than attending a brick-and-mortar school. You are better off paying for some other virtual school system that focuses on content and quality rather than quantity. While there are some teachers who care about their students and try to make the virtual environment a fun learning experience, others (such as their English teachers) read off slides and expect an exorbitant amount of work. My son's homeroom teacher has changed at least five if not six times, and that should tell you something about the way this online school system is managed. Had we known it was going to be this bad, we would have stayed far away from this online school system and put money into a better, more efficient virtual program. Stay away from TECCA Connections Academy. There are far superior schooling systems out there.

School starts in 3 days and my kid is assigned a home room teacher that’s out until February. Multiple e-mails to the school result in them not addressing this issue and continuing to tell me my kid’s homeroom teacher is the person out on maternity leave. They give no notice of mid-day orientations, in person. No consideration for working parents. No communication. And they obviously have no idea what their staff is doing because they are blissfully unaware that my kid’s home room teacher is on maternity leave.

We have two different students in middle and high school. Both are participating in an online charter for different reasons and both are supported in the ways they need. Classes are interesting, asynchronous learning is easy to follow, and all staff are very supportive of both me and my students.

This school has some great attributes and some very awful ones, unfortunately. The concept is great, imo all public school should have the online option now. My only complaint is the Pearson learning system, it’s terrible, it’s uninteresting, nonsensical, bizarre, it’s incompatible with autism. There are programs such as unique learning, news 2 u, IXL, which one can subscribe to on their sites, that I wish CA was more like. I supplement my child’s learning with those because it’s engaging, enjoyable and compatible to his needs. The therapist sessions with this school have been excellent

This has been an absolutely great school for our high school child. The entrance was quick and easy, and getting up to speed was simple. As parents, my wife and I really enjoy the freedom and flexibility our son gets from attending. It has been quite challenging in academics, and the school is very happy to offer advanced placement courses, college credit courses, and honors courses. The sky is the limit as our son can move as fast as his potential allows. We highly recommend it. Plus, we get to see our son a lot more, in person, so this help build stronger family ties for us.

I wouldn't recommend this school to anyone! Currently, this school is going downhill due to changes in administration. Their job is not important to them, and they do not care about students. Students and parents are ignored, and they could care less if students fail. This school is no longer what it once was, so please look elsewhere!

My daughter attended TEC Connections Academy throughout high school and graduated last spring. This was the best decision we have ever made. Through TECCA my daughter learned excellent study skills and time management skills and that are now helping her in college. If you are wondering what kind of education you child gets as a TECCA student, consider this: Our daughter received straight A’s her first semester in college and is excelling in her second semester. We could not be happier.

I would rate it as EXCELLENT. It is the best decision we could have made for our three children and I can't imagine ever going back to brick and mortar again. The flexibility, availability and personalization of the program from this school is stellar. The teachers are top notch and beyond helpful and supportive and go above and beyond to try and accommodate everyone and in an efficient manner. If you are willing to put in the effort to coach your child and communicate and work with the teachers by guiding your child until they can fly on their own you will reap the rewards of your children becoming independent and being able to do more than they thought they were capable of doing. It is a team effort between the parents, students and teachers which is how it should be but I never found that with brick and mortar schools like I do with TECCA. It takes some getting used to but once you do there is nothing that can compare with the TECCA Way

I would never take my children back to a brick and mortar school. The flexibility, sincerity of staff and organization of work is so wonderful I couldn’t go back to having no clue what my children are learning. I love learning with them and being able to help them.

Poorly. I wasn’t trying to game the system, but I barely did any work in my time there. I’m not saying I was being lazy, there just wasn’t much to do. The computer program does most of the work. Teachers here are underpaid compared to the rest of the state, but extremely overpaid in relation to the work they are putting in.

I am extremely grateful to have the opportunity for my child to attend tecca. They have an outside of the box approach to teaching, which is great for kids, as no one learns the same. The curriculum is top notch and I am excited to see what the next school year brings for my child!

As stated in my questionnaire, the school refuses to work with us. The teachers at best are not helpful as should be - and as promised and advertised. The higher-ups refused to even contact us.. When a school is not working with parents it doesn't work. When a national chain school such as Connections Academy has great marketing ting in effect to lure parents that everything is great & super easy, you sign up!Then you have to deal with too much negativity; staff control issues and staff bullying just does not work.

The enrollment process is a joke and takes forever to get through because the enrollment team has no idea of state specific requirements etc. They never respond or call you back when asked. The video and audio quality was horrendous, we only made it as far as orientation before I decided to enroll my daughter elsewhere but it seemed as though they were using equipment from the 90's-none of the students could hear the principal or teachers clearly, the sound kept losing connection on their end and the video was completely grainy...The students were all typing in the chat box that they could not hear what was going on clearly then suddenly the chat box was disabled so we could no longer see anyone else's comments/questions

We enrolled our daughters in Tecca Connections Academy in January 2015. We were a little unsure how we would handle a virtual school but with the support of the teachers, staff and other parents, our girls adjusted beautifully and did very well. They just love how school is done and we feel they are getting a great education without so many distractions. We are looking forward to starting school again in the Fall.
