I just received the sweetest email from our son's 2nd grade teacher about getting to know him in the first weeks of school. She sent a personal email to each family about their child. I love that in our 3rd year at BSS the teachers are still exceeding my expectations. Amazing people who put so much love and care into their profession. They are heart and soul of our school, for sure. BSS is a wonderful school whose administration, teachers and parents work together to help their children learn and grow. In addition, parents are welcome in the school at daily assembly and as volunteers. Our children have been academically challenged, supported and loved throughout our time here. We have a new principal this year who has filled vacant positions with excellent faculty and brought tremendous energy and joy to our community. We are so happy with this school. Highly recommend.

We have loved BSS. The teachers are amazing and the community is like no other. It has been wonderful to see the strong academic foundation they are building along with the values and sense of self they have developed. They have an entire school ecosystem supporting them every step of the way.

This school is among the worst we have ever encountered. The administration (most of which are on loan or temps) turn a blind eye to matters of school safety - apparently, they just started locking the doors during school hours - and so many other issues. As far as the academics are concerned, most students are well behind their peers. Forget science and Spanish - no teachers for those subjects. Music? No playing instruments because of Covid (yes, really). If you like the idea that this is a Catholic school, you'll be disappointed that they DO NOT teach religion. There are several "teachers" who are downright cruel to students (except the ones whose parents have clout which equals $). You can hear a teacher yelling at her students from the hallway a lot of the time. Bullying is not punished. The school handbook serves as more of a book of suggested rules that are applied unequally. Please do not enroll your children here. The environment is negative, the academics subpar and there are too many instances of awful behavior that's appalling but tolerated.

Wonderful all around experience! We’ve been a BSS family for 4 years and look forward to the years my children have left with BSS! Completely and whole heartedly recommend this school!

I am a recent Blessed Sacrament alumni. My experience at blessed sacrament started off very well. I started BSS in grade 3. When I was in grade 4 I needed a 504 and IEP plan and the teachers weren’t cooperative with it. Some even belittled me and made mean comments about me needing it. In grade 5, I recall hearing both of my teachers gossiping about certain students and talking poorly about their students family. Most of the teachers use a lot of public punishment and call the kids out in front of the whole class so they feel embarrassed and bad about themselves. There is no support teacher for learning struggles and no counselor for mental health issues. The kids aren’t any better. They are mean but the teachers never intervene with bullying problems. Students that have a parent that works there and children of parents donating to the school will be favored. They win scholarships and awards but are some of the most misbehaved kids because they don’t think the rules apply to them, and they get away it. Favoritism is a huge issue at this school and I guarantee all the good reviews are from a picture-perfect favorite family. The school severely lacks diversity, at my time at blessed sacrament there were 2 asian families, 2 Indian families, and 1 black family (95% WHITE?!). The academics at the school aren’t great. Considering that earlier this year there was no science or math teachers for middle school and no spanish teachers at the school, I imagine the students are falling behind. Your child would definitely receive a better education at public school. Although I have a few fond memories from traditions at blessed sacrament, most of my memories are painful ones. I remember the days when I would cry in the bathroom before lunch because a teacher had made fun of me in front of the whole class. I remember the nights I stayed up crying because I had no friends and no support at school. Years later I still suffer from more of the negative effects of blessed sacrament. Please don’t send your child here. Their well-being will be destroyed and their self confidence torn apart. The school was pretty good in my early years but went downhill quickly. Blessed Sacrament is a school that once felt like a home to anyone who walked through the door, but now it’s just a place of misery for students and parents (who aren’t in the favorites group).

The school remains without a principal, without a science teacher, without a Spanish teacher. Naturally, many of the same people who were on the committee that hired the last principal (who destroyed so much in just two months) are on the current search committee for a new principal. If you belong to one of the favored groups, your children will get the better teachers. If you give a lot of money, you pretty much run the school and rules don’t apply to them or their children. Do not send your kids here. You will be much better off elsewhere. I’m sure my review will be mocked and claims made that it’s part of some organized campaign by a few disgruntled parents. I can tell you there are more than a few disgruntled parents and they are disgruntled for good reasons. Poor education, no religion taught, parent cliques who run the school and as mentioned above, lack of teachers and a principal since October! The best part…they are raising tuition for September. They have no choice given the numbers leaving and planning to leave in June.

Seems that the onslaught of negative reviews are clearly orchestrated by a small group of people who don't represent the overall sentiment of the community at large.

The school continues to be in turmoil. Zero transparency, no principal, no Spanish teacher for the entire school and no science teacher for the middle school. No teaching certificates are required to work here. Religious instruction is left to the discretion of the teacher (which generally means there isn’t much at all.) Music teacher still not allowing students to play instruments and requires the windows to stay open because of COVID. A bunch of glowing reviews were recently submitted. Clearly orchestrated…says all youneed to know. We left public schools for BSS, there’s no difference.

Unfortunately this is a Catholic School in name only. They have poor leadership and are being babysat by the Arch Diocese because of it. Politics comes before education and the children. If you are a family that has strong traditional values this is not the school for your child.

It is funny to me seeing these January 12th posts. I bet I could name the specific people who wrote them and why. If they don’t like the school so much, they should just see their way out. Oh yes, they won’t leave because they can’t find another great school like this one . These are also the people that like to complain about EVERY SINGLE THING! These are the parents who like to point fingers and can’t take ownership: “It’s not my child!” Let me be clear: the school is not the problem.

I am writing as a current parent, and my familyhas been at Blessed Sacrament School for 7 years. We live in a TOP PERFORMING school district in a neighboring town, and we did extensive research when deciding to leave public school with our 4 children. When I saw the written reviews previous to mine, I felt compelled to write as well. Our school went through a transition in the fall with a new principal. They are no longer employed anymore thanks to the dedication of our teachers, local administration and the incredible families at BSS. That principal was not the right fit, and we quickly rectified the situation. There is change and transition in every school. But what you won’t see in other schools, is the quick actions made by our loving community to make things right. Our teachers (ALL of our teachers) are dedicated, educated, thoughtful, faithful, loving, and in education for all the right reasons. With over 300 students in the building, it is a testament to the strength and viability of our school. When all other schools shut down during COVID19 our doors remained open to all. Wait lists in almost every grade, and some grades are still maxed out. Blessed Sacrament knocked it out of the park, and then some. If you want to judge our school based on 7 weeks of transition, then we may not be the right fit for you. But, I promise you, if you visit us-you will see all that we do. And, it goes beyond what meets the public eye. It’s more special than that.

Wow, I have to say the last two reviews are pretty much correct. It started out a few years ago so good. But constant turnover and lack of real teachers has made the school a place to avoid. Our experience started out fine, but something has happened over the past few years. Thankfully we left. No one seems happy and academically they are so far behind other area schools. Much better options out there.

It hurts to write this review. We've been BSS parents for several years. Our kids started there in Pre-K and for a few years, it was a really great experience. Sadly, this year has been an absolute nightmare. With leadership turning over, the school has stumbled around communication and has been dismissive and at times downright cruel to the community that once made the school so great. It's unfortunate as we once felt the BSS community was so strong and supportive and it's nothing like what it used to be. They lack staff in key areas and have staff members in others areas that are downright hostile. I wouldn't be surprised if they were closing the school soon. I wouldn't want any family to ensure what we've endured this year.

This is our third year at BSS and we could not be happier. The class sizes are small and the level of instruction is high. We also love the sense of community, with many special events throughout the year. One of our favorite events is the Battle of the Books. Parents, students and teachers are all engaged.

The Blessed Sacrament community welcomed my pre-k and 7th grader with open arms and we had an outstanding year. Academic rigor, community, leadership, morals, and excellent, excellent teaching- Across all domains: ELA, STEM, Spanish. Math, Theology, social studies, even the “specials” (art and music) are taught by professionals with deep backgrounds. We love this school.

Blessed Sacrement Huguenot is a great school! There are many opportunities for all kids to be involved in extra curricular activities. The acdemics are challenging and the teachers make sure all students are living up to their full potential. Friday night football games are the best, with the bleachers full of students, teachers and tons of alumi. GO KNIGHTS!

It was poor. Very poor. Extremely poor. That is all.

My oldest daughter recently graduated from Blessed Sacrament School and was well-prepared with strong study skills, academic aptitude, excellent leadership experience, and a commitment to service. My younger daughter continues to attend BSS and really enjoys the amazing theater arts program and a wonderful community of friends, families, staff and administrators. Their new middle school STEM/Math program is really exciting and ground breaking. It's a great value with so much to offer.

My daughter just started the 3 year old preschool program and it has been wonderful! She enjoys school, loves her teachers, and gets upset if it's not a school day. We were originally going to send her up until Kindergarten (Walpole only has half day Kindergarten) but I am so impressed by this school she's going to stay up until 8th grade.

Such a special school! We just completed our first year and cannot say enough about being a part of this wonderful community. With summer just starting our daughter is already counting down the days until September, she is that happy here. The fact that they aren't teaching my child to prepare for a test means that they can focus on her needs and not a rating score to judge the teacher's ability. We truly look forward to our next child coming here this upcoming year.
