I had two students attend this school. We moved into this school when my oldest was in second grade. Overall, we loved Summerfield. My one complaint would be what I see as a lack of recess. We moved from a school that had recess before school, after lunch and in the afternoon if they had time. At Summerfield they have one very short recess, and for 4th and 5th, often didn't get recess on PE days because they felt they had their exercise for the day. They seem to view recess as something they are required to do and give the bare minimum rather than something joyful and fun and don't seem to get that it will help kids learn better if they have had a chance to run around and play!

My older son finished through Summerfield Elementary and now my youngest just started. I sincerely felt taken care of, and feel that my son was as well.I LOVE the teachers and support from the parents. Its a special spot.

Summerfield Elementary WILL provide your child with a superb education! The teachers and administration are hands on and supportive of students (and their parents!!!). This school shines as an example of "school with a heart". In a world where you are free to choose schools (public, charter, private), this one is where you want your children educated!!! I have had two children at Summerfield and they are successful, well-rounded individuals! Great job to Jill Walsh and her staff! Go Vikings!!!!

Summerfield Elementray is a wonderful school that has great teachers, staff, and a lot of parent volunteers! I know my child is in a safe and loving environment.

All three of my children went to Summerfield Elementary and I could not be more pleased. The principal, teachers, and special needs professionals are the best anyone could hope for and the entire school has a great sense of "family" that makes all students feel cared for and safe. I wish that instead of having to move on to middle school, my kids could have stayed at this school for another three years.
