I would give this school a 10/10 it's a very good school the teachers are doing there part and it up to the parents to help out to because it takes a village to raise a child

Awful, though we had a few positive experiences. We loved principal Maclin, but she is only one person. She can't control every aspect of the school on her own. The special education aspect was unpleasant at best. We loved our teachers, but the actual case managers/coordinators need a better understanding of their responsibilities/duties. My family's experience at this school has left us with little faith in the county and the knowledge that conversations in the future need to be recorded for liability reasons. Be prepared if you have to deal with this school. You've got a 50/50 chance.

I am writing this from a different perspective. I attended Pine Ridge Elementary from 2nd through 6th grades; in fact, I was starting 2nd grade when the school first opened for the 1988/1989 school year. I then attended Salem Junior High (Stephenson Middle was being built) and then 9th-12th at Stephenson High when it opened in 1996. Yes, I was blessed to open two schools! Pine Ridge always had a very high standard for learning. Over the years, I have seen, both as a student and as a former student, the leadership change at the school. Even as the demographics of the city drastically changed (everyone knows about the unwritten "10%" rule), Pine Ridge was still expected to maintain its leadership role in being a top notch elementary school. However, without the support of the community, any school will fail. Pine Ridge was a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence while I was there and remained a School of Excellence while I matriculated at Stephenson High next door. If you want an honest assessment of the preparedness the Stephenson Road schools will give your child, I can attest personally that with parental involvement and strong administrations, you will not be disappointed. Test scores don't tell it all; in fact, they aren't comprehensive measurement tools at all. They weren't meant to be.

My daughter just graduated from this school and I am so happy. She started going there at 3rd grade, she had an awesome teacher name mrs lightfoote..she was caring and she love her job and the kids loved her. When she went to 4th grade, they didnt even have a teacher until after school started. The teacher they hired was rude and rarely taught them anything. The lady in the office, ms mann, is extremely rude. She talks to parents in a condescending way and when confronted, she act like she haven't done anything wrong. Most of the teachers are just as hood as the neighborhood. They never start programs on time. the PTA is lackluster. The cheerleaders could only practice in the cafeteria. Anytime you ask someone a questions, they always got defensive and copped an attitude. I am so glad I do not have to deal with the teachers and staff of this school.

Before coming to Georgia in 1998, Pine Ridge was voted a school of excellence & I was glad I was moving to a neighborhood that had a good school because that's why I moved from NY. Unfortunately, because my daughter had a late birthday, she wasn't allowed to attend Pine Ridge until she was in the 2nd grade @ age six due to the 9/1 rule. When she did attend in 2000 @ 6 1/2, she was way ahead because the private schools have Abeka Curriculum & she was writing cursive at age 4. My daughter stayed on the honor roll her whole 4 years @ Pine Ridge so I can't complain. Unfortunately, I have not had the same experience with other kids that have gone to Pine Ridge. I am a foster parent & sometimes have special needs kids who are developmentally delayed or have ADHD or other learning disabilities & every time I have a child like that in my home, I have a horrible time with the teachers. I have actually stopped taking kids like that into my home because I don't want them to attend my home school & I'm tired of fighting with the teachers when we're supposed to be working together. Overall, if you're an average child who applies his or herself, you should do well. If U R special needs, beware

This was my sons first year over here at pine ridge. I'm not very pleased. The hallways are very dim. Over hearing the kids speak and half of them are not up to date. A teacher was holding a student and rocking him back and forth on her hip to keep him from crying. The sign outside where the school displays their name has been vandalized. That was my first sign then I go inside and the school was just ronchy. The food they serve the kids look so I'm pleasing. I withdrew my son ASAP. I couldn't take it I'm very strict on what type of learning my son takes in
