My child goes to this school. Horrible teachers with bad attitudes towards children and adults. They try to hide their true selves infront of the parents but do a bad job. My child was yelled at for checking his grades and also for leaving the classroom at the end of the day when the principle calls for the walkers at the end of the day. I do not recomend this school for any child with ADHD or Dyslexia as bullying is also a problem.

We have 2 . The school seems to foster a big PTA recruitment and requirement. PTA has Avery large budget but I have no idea where the money is spent because it doesn’t show. They also big on giving to the school because it is a theme school, you have to either volunteer or give items from a predetermined list to get the hours filled. Our youngest has not had a lot of issues. The older one has had nothing but issues. I’ve reported different incidents of bullying and the counselors just don’t respond either way. I’ve gone up there in several occasions and I didn’t get past “ we will check and get back to you”I’m still waiting and this is year after year. They will test the daylight out if your children. The school has been dumbed down so they can receive more state funding but there are no nets or fresh paint on the outside basketball court. They never seem to have supplies. They will wear you about the kid missing a uniform but they do t have a way for you to retrieve lost jackets etc. they trash it. The education could be better if they allowed teachers to teach instead of using those books . The books are terrible. The teachers rely on apps some of which you cannot access from home. Some do not work properly. Of the schools in the area this is what we have as the best one and that is not saying very much. The new principal has done a good job. Time to clean house and get some fresh support staff and teachers. They do t make you aware of extra curricular activities that could be enrichment for the child like beta, chess, or tutoring. Tutoring was suppose to start in November but didn’t until March and then it was only 1 month. They do give the kids a lot of praise when they do well in a program that’s been dumbed down. They need teacher aids because the classroom has too many kids for 1 teacher. Homework is mandatory and I don’t agree with that because they do t go over it. So why waste my time ?

My son and I had a horrible experience at Wynbrooke. My son entered second grade at this school. Unfortunately it was during the middle of Covid. So I blamed a lot of on that. However our entry to third grade lead to the same behavior an teacher/teaching pattern. My on was placed aside to be left behind with his learning. Every teacher and administrator I encountered from the car riders line to the assistant principal had a rude personality. They talk to the kids any kind of way. My son left second grade feeling unworthy of learning and that the teacher showed favoritism and always picked on him because he did not fit her rigid learning style. He felt that she dismissed him because of separation from the class as she never came to check on his learning. The teacher has said rue thing under her breathe that he has repeated to me on several occasions. He moved over to third grade and had the same experience. After multiple conversations with this new teacher from learning to behavior to separation from class to her rude choice words. She thought he out not quote it back verbatim. But he did. He hated going to school, morale regarding learning declined. I pulled him 1st semester. His new school is definitely more diversified with teacher and turners. He is thriving, grades are better, no calls from the teacher. His love for school and learning is back. I am so happy I listened to him an got him up out of there. One thing I have learned is that adults can use aggressive body language and tone with kids to take away their voice and make them agree with everything they are saying good and bad. We dismiss kids not allowing them to use their voice. The teachers at Wynbrooke are passive aggressive and claim to move in a spirit of excellence. But they actually need more training. Lastly I emailed the principal several time over the course of his one and half year NEVER A RESPONSE. I also went in and attempted to set an appointment NO RESPONSE.

My daughter has been here since Kindergarten and is now going into the 3rd grade. She is smart, tall, beautiful, and talkative so we have had at least 2 instances where boys were bullying my child but once I addressed it, the school acted appropriately. So, for the most part, it has been absolutely wonderful. I have had great experiences with the teachers, counselors, and administrators. My child loves the teachers and administrators, she is performing above average on standardized tests, and most importantly I have come to trust the teachers and staff that I have developed a relationship with here at the school. We have have had some difficult situations at the school and because of how they handled those situations, I grew to have more faith and trust in the school and Principal J S Faison. We had bullying, COVID, some child from out of state shooting a bb gun at our kids on the playground, a librarian arrested on charges that did not take place at our school, and other issues. But I honestly felt as though the school handled those situations in the best ways possible and I trust that they will continue to make the best decisions in difficult situations. We have a new Principal, Mr Teal, who will be starting in the fall since Dr Faison has been promoted. Hopefully he will establish his mentor program for boys here at the school and bring about positive changes in their behaviors. I noticed that some parents were in denial about their child's behavior at the school. All in all, Wynbrooke is an important part of the community and I try not to take the educators for granted. I do believe that this is a partnership and I try to do my part to help my child and to also help the teachers. I also try to make certain that they know how much I appreciate them and the work that they do. I'm glad to be a part of the Wynbrooke community.

This school is for kids who have stay at home parents that, have the time and patience to teach their kids with the homework given to them. Teachers at that school should of never wanted to be teachers or gotten degrees in teaching. All they have time to do during teaching time is flyers, looking for their next trip deal, internet and text about fees for trips.

We are having a great experience at Wynbrooke. My child's teacher is phenomenal. This school has everything we were looking for: involved parents, focus on academics and socio-emotional learning, and dedicated staff who really care. The staff know every child's name and it's a very welcoming school community.

As a first year parent; I must say I love this school. My daughter is in the Kindergarten and her teacher is great. I can see an improvements in her reading and math. The teacher communicates and corresponds to all emails timely. I definitely recommend this school..

Speaking as a parent who has only been a Wynbrooke parent for a year. It is sad to see so many negative remarks. As a whole the school is great if so bad then help how many come to PTA meetings, do more than complain play a BIGGER part. It takes a village not staying in corners whispering about the bad.

Teachers are very dedicated, they work hard and they play hard. Both of my son's attended and I very much recommend others to experience the culture. The children are excited about learning ,they talk about school every day.

Absolutely hated this school. My daughter's teacher was absent at least once a week throughout the whole school year. When she was there, she did not teach. Parental envolvement is not welcomed. For example, my daughter did not complete her class work. When I asked her teacher to send home the class work so I could reinforce the lesson I was told " then that wouldn't be class work". The bathrooms were so nasty my daughter did not want to use them. I often ate lunch with my daughter and when I did, the cafeteria monitors were always yelling at the students. Coming from Fulton county, this school by far was the worst I've ever experienced. I would not recommend this school to anyone.

This school continue to be on the down scale. I have known parents that children have went to this school from the day it was built until now and the parent views have changed drastically. Some teachers dont respond to emails. Teachers do not place the grades in the system appropiately and then when they place them in the system (if they do) the Progress Report for that period has closed. The school unfortunately in our community has declined so far from a Higher Achievement (Theme School) to a Title I School. The Principal tried to justify it changing to a Title I School so it can get more funding. We all know from when we were in school; Title I means that the school is not meeting it's grades and that is what needs assistance. I don't think I need to continue if a school has went from an A+ school to a Title I School. It sadden me to know that our community no longer have a great school to attend for Elementary. I don't want to continue to be negative so I will end this statement with asking the future parents: "If this school was a Higher Achievement School and now it is a Title I School; is this the school for your child to achieve high standards"? We have to do better with teaching our children in the community!

I feel this school has improved since the current principle has been there. Some of the teachers my need to improve and they did loose a few really good teachers in the past 2-3 years. Overall my child is doing well at this school she loves her teacher and is enjoying her learning experience. I feel some parents need to do more to help their child with behavioral problems and to make sure they are spending time helping with homework. Dekalb School District has a lot of corruption issues and they lack leadership and direction. People who work at the school district need to stop mismanaging the school funds and spend the money more wisely on taking care of the school buildings.

Unfortunately this school is on the decline after a number of years of high academic achievement. In my opinion, the school's administration and leadership is the source of the problem. I was hopeful things will turnaround given this is the second year of this new administration (new principal and assistant principals), but sadly that has not been the case. I made the very tough decision to withdraw both my children from this school.

I love working at Wynbrooke Elementary School. The teachers, and the administrative team work well together. Their goal is to get children to learn and become good citizens. I highly recommend this school.

I absolutely love this school! This will be the Principals 2nd year and she is already making strides towards better education for our students. The teachers and faculty CARE about the students and require the parents to be involved through volunteer efforts. This will be my daughters 2nd year and as she enters First Grade I am excited about the new journey and what is ahead!

This school is horrible. My child is now in the 5th grade and have been in attendance at this school since PRE-K. Each year this school gets a new principle and each year the leadership is HORRIBLE. The school was much better when it was ran by the male principal that they had 5 years ago. The teachers DO NOT care about the children. They try to be strict on the children about the dress code and they come to school dressed inappropriate. They are doing a horrible job at teaching the kids. I have seen a tremendous decline in this school. I am so GRATEFUL that this is my child s last year at Wynbrooke. Instead of teaching the kids they are worried about the color bow in their hair. I have had an experience with the teachers calling the kids stupid and telling them to shut up. This school is really a disaster. I do not want to speak down on all of the teachers but the majority of them there are not interested in teaching your child. I am so disappointed in this school. Years ago, I had nothing but good things to say about this school it is declining FAST!!! I DO NOT recommend this school to anyone!

I am an active parent in this school and I have seen this school go completely downhill. The professionalism amongst the staff and administrators is not professional. The teachers dress anyway they like, but yet and still they want a strict uniform policy for the children. There have been several complaints taken to the school broad throughout this year and last year. The only reason I continue to allow my children to attend this school is because my house has not sold in the community we live in right behind the school. My daughter finished fifth grade here, but my youngest daughter (3rd grade) has a teacher who surely has no passion or drive to teach the students. Her passion must be the check because she surely is out to either fail her students or simply not give a darn about their education. My son is in the fourth grade and he is doing well but could be doing better. I would not recommend this school for any child to attend, there is only one good teacher per grade the other comments made surely didn t lie about that. The test scores have significantly decreased over the past 5 years. They can t even keep a permanent principal there; they have had 4 principals in 4yrs

Extremely disappointed. This school has no leadership and an abundance of apathy. When you drive up to the school you can see that the building and grounds have not been maintained appropriately. The hallways are dirty. The cafeteria needs new chairs. The teachers have no dress code - t-shirts, tights and flip flops are not ok (especially when the children are in uniforms. Everyone should have some sort of uniform which means no suggestive clothing whatsoever (no tight shirts and short skirts). Also... there are not many extracurricular programs for the kids. The school website is not informative nor is it up-to-date. Parents fight to get the one good teacher that they have in each grade. Not what you would expect for a theme school. Not even sure what the theme is and I have inquired for two years now. I have no idea why the rating is still so high. I hate to pay for private school but sometimes you get what you pay for. In this case, I paid nothing and my child got nothing from being there. Fortunately, I continue to work with my child at home but I wish the 5+ hours she spent at school also deemed beneficial.

My son attended Wynbrooke K-5 grade and in the begining it was wonderful. Over the last 2 years the Administration has changed and it keeps getting worse and worse. The teachers are unprofessional and do not respond and the Admin staff is no assistance at all. They DO NOT want parents involved after 2nd grade. I would say the teacher moral has dropped and the kids are the one who are loosing the battle. Its a unfortunante that this school has just "gone to the DOGS"! i can NOT recommend the school at this time.
