I am relocating from Florida and this will be my 9th & 11th graders school. I am reluctant to send them here after reading the reviews, normally I like to experience things for myself to conclude my own opinion but not when it comes to my kids education. The questions I have are: 1. Am I allowed to choose another learning facility or has there been major changes to improve the facility? 2. How is the safety of the kids? 3. What extra curricular activities do they offer and what's the success of said activities? I only rated the school because it was the only way I could ask questions so please don't count my ratings.

As an educator, my faith in public education is lessened when I know there are people as incompetent as our admin and how he managed to secure his spot. It is beyond sad, but not as sad as the fact he patrols the internet regulating unflattering comments about himself and then generates fictitious positive reviews with all the "right" keywords.

This school has people whose main goal is to be in your business and not help. My kid had a problem and the counselor instructed the teachers not to give her the makeup work. In addition they wrote a letter stating if you don't graduate any college you were admitted to will not let you attend. Well it is not your concern what my kids PLANS are thou you seem obsessed with her in a strange way. This school is the worst you will ever see. They are educators meaning the administration that can's spell, can't speak, standard English and just plain nosy and obsessed. If your kid has an academic game the administrators and the counseling office except one are jealous of it and their main goal is to destroy your kid. DESTROY

The teachers and administrators are a joke. They are clearly there for a paycheck. There’s no compassion for the students.

Lithonia HS has come a long way, but like any organization that had an unfavorable reputation, it will take a long time, if at all, for that to be erased. It will be a long time before it is a school you can brag about your child going to, but that does not mean your child cannot receive a good education. I've had not problem because I stay active at the school, get to know my child's teachers and encourage them to get involved in the many clubs and programs the school has to offer. I've had three children attend LHS, two graduated, one attends GSU to become a physician's assistant, the other Georgia Southern in Int'l studies. Two are not exceptional students either, I just made sure they kept school a priority. Currently the school has a very good principle and teaching staff (give or take a few), as with all schools. I notice the biggest complainers of the school do the least. Due to location/proximity of this school, there will always be, for lack of a better word, a few bad applies spoiling the bin. It's up to YOU, how your child will succeed at LHS. Submitted by a parent

Lithonia High School is where my daughter (10th grade) will be attending. I need a parent (s) to advise me on this school (academics, professionalism, culture, sports, arts, etc...). I am seeking current information

This school is not a good school all the staff members care about is the money well money don't make the kids learn. The teacher and other staff members are rude and lazy. The teachers are lazy all they do is sit behind the computer. They never get up and make the class interesting. They need to shut down that school is disgusting. There are roaches and the roofs are in a mess. The staff members abuse they school powers and can care less about the kids

This is NOT a good school. It is falling apart and the dress code is VERY strict! Students cannot wear flip flops or leggings with dress (not "long" shirts). That is ridiculois. My child has a nickel allergy so the button on keans irritate and rash her skin. She should be able to wear leggings so long as the dress comes down to just above the knee! The school is falling apart with leaks in the ceiling of every hall; there are fights and food fights almost everyday. Students are treated like animals so they will act that way. They need to figure out and learn how to encourage them more instead of making threats. Also, this is the FIRST school I have enrolled my student in that asks for Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, AND Senior dues!! Why so many dues if the school is not being kept nice and sanitary?! There are roaches everywhere! Yuck! Moving to a new district ASAP! The counseling office ALWAYS makes me wait at LEAT 30 min before I am helped, and teachers are non-responsive to emails. I had to go to the principal several times. Several classes my student is taking have been "taken over" by substitute teachers that have no idea what they are doing or "teaching" & dont turn books in!
