This a clean safety school for the children and the parents as well and I thank my school so much.

i love this school its got every thing in place and they got safety for if some one was to come and have a lockdown i think the school is good

This school is trash. There is fights. There were drugs in cookies. There were police dogs that came in to snife out the drugs. There was a kid who went to jail. The teachers were mean. The food was terrible and the meat was pink. Some of the kids are fake. Join a club.

They are only there for a paycheck. I actually heard a teacher say this. My son was diagnosed with ADHD/ADD and they failed him tremendously! I’ve NEVER even heard of a school that allows teachers to instigate a fight between students and the teacher isn’t reprimanded in any way! All the horror stories you hear about this school are true!!! I can write a book on the things these “Adults” have done that is just unacceptable!

One of the worst schools ever! Children are out of control there. They have no control there, children are disrespectful to Teachers, Principals and all other adults. They have absolutely no effective discipline system. The children run the school, not the adults in charge there. From personal experience, if you have a well behaved child they will not enjoy it here or they will certainly be corrupted by students and this terrible behavior system.

My son has been going to Lithonia Middle School since the 6th grade and is now going to the 8th grade. He's in the gifted program and has been blessed with wonderful teachers in both the 6th and 7th grades. I think his Teachers, Assistant Principals and Principal have done a wonderful job. Of course he's experienced issues with other students and has run into challenges with classwork and teachers but we all worked to get together to keep him on the right track. The teachers and staff can't do everything alone; it also takes a lot of parental involvement. The school is by far from perfect and there were teachers that he didn't like, but as long as they were doing their jobs he didn't have to like them. Overall, my son has a good experience. He had an option to attend a Magnet School but wanted to stay at Lithonia. He's had a chance to work with some really smart and interesting teachers who've kept him engaged and excited about learning.

This school is a horrible school they food is nasty they are rude they treat our kids like they dont have feelings they stay yelling at them and me as a parent dont like this school DO NOT SEND YOUR KIDS TO LMS

Heard so much negative things about this school until I went to the school myself. It is unbelievable how people listen to others based on their own negative experiences and make judgments from what they hear. Glad I checked it out myself. Excellent. Listen to no one...do your due diligence. I am very very pleased with the teachers and the administration. Lisa McGhee brings in the most qualified teachers who truly care about their students and their education. Education is as good there as in any other middle school. It's your neighborhood school. Invest there!

My daughter attended the school the year before last and she comes from a home school environment but not a sheltered environment. The behavior that the other parents say happens might happen but honestly lighten up. My kid went to a school somewhere else and was mugged daily. The teachers are very good. After a year of their instruction my daughter scored in the 98th percentile on the ITBS, they have also come in third in the state for the STEM Bowl. They have an orchestra that competes. I was pleased with the school.

Terrible! I have never seen a school ran this way. They treat all students like they all come from the same household. I'm leaving because I refuse to let my Son attend this school another day! The student look like grown men and they walk around cursing and smoking and cutting school. The teachers aren't concerned when a child has parents that are involved. My Son has been hit by a teacher and called stupid. When you call to check on your child and the transfer you to the classroom, the students answer the phone and you hear the teacher yelling and the class is out of control. There are fights every day and my child isn't accustomed to this type of environment. We have visited the school and students know you are a parent but they continue on like you aren't there. Boys feeling on girls, girls twerking down the hall cursing and carrying on. My son knows what cutting school is now. He has told about kids bringing molly to school and some other drug that looks like candy. He said some kids are cutting school to go drink beer. He shouldn't know anything about this at his age. They have ruined my child's innocence at Lithonia Middle. Stay Away from this school!
