Glad to see the school now has accommodations for special needs students. However, there is favoritism, specially with the teachers whose children are students. The parents and teachers in the school are do not follow the religious or catholic faith. The school is about competition and status. Very disappointed with the administration and the language arts teacher for 8th grade is horrible with special needs students.

they dont know how to provide support for students being bullied and allow kids to be bullied and never take action especially their sped program and when i was being bullied and tried to fit in and be liked other students reported me and i was kicked out. although it provides a good education everything else to help and protect students is horrible and now since i was kicked out i might have to stay homeschooled and not be able to get into a good highschool and all the opportunities i had are gone. they are very disorganized and nothing ever works there. please dont go to this school it will not be good. the one good thing is mrs. jessurun the counsler she helped me a lot but in the end the school is just so...... obnoxious they dont do anything about it and took the side of the kids that bullied me.

Our kids have been in this school for 6 years now and for us it is the best catholic elementary school in Miami Area. Academically, it has no competition. The teachers are very supportive, and helpful. The school's family engagement and environment are unique; it is like they say "We are a covenant". Incredibly supportive and open to accommodations if the students require them. By far, the best elementary school in Miami.

My children’s entire preschool, elementary and middle school years were spent at this school and I wanted to address the main issues that progressively became worse as the years passed. If you work at the school and have a child… then your child or children are given completely different treatment. There is obvious preferential treatment for these children and their families. At first you take it personal and then get used to it. Within the school administration itself, there are cliques which is bizarre to me. Some teachers are more liked and receive better treatment than others. This creates a disconnect overall between staff, students and parents. Grades are not inputted into the grade book in a timely fashion so by the time you realize that your child is struggling, the grade book is closed and the quarter is over leaving that grade “as is”. This is a huge problem in middle school. If you expect to hear from the teacher regarding your child’s struggle then keep waiting because again, you’ll find out about the struggle due to the grades being put in and noticing that something isn’t right. You won’t find out from the teacher themselves. This isn’t the norm for all teachers but it is common for some teachers responsible to teach the core subjects. It feels as though one or two middle school teachers don’t care about their profession the way they should. Almost as if they’re tired of their job or of the students (or both). Getting a 24 hour turnaround response time from them via email is almost a joke. You have to involve the principal at times and only THEN you get a response. This shouldn’t be the case and it’s saddening to know that the administration defends this lack of communication. A few teachers are condescending, judgmental and rude to students with no repercussions to their actions. Teacher turnover is a big problem. Transitions often times happen mid school year. Teachers just pick up and leave, are let go and then you’re told via email that the teacher is gone due to circumstances beyond their control. I noticed that negative reviews are removed/buried by forced positive ones. We are allowed to speak our minds even if the feedback isn’t to your liking. Check Yelp for reviews all left on the same day.My children stayed at this school due to important factors: tuition, friendships, stability. If I could have switched schools without impacting the important factors, I would have.

My children have been at St.Louis Covenant since prek. Overall, it has been a positive experience. My children score consistently in the top 10 percentile, although I believe this would have been achieved at any school. When sending my children to private school I choose to pay for a religious education and a high moral character of not only their fellow classmates, but of their instructors as well. This for the most part is true, although in the past few years administration has been blinded in creating a halo around all staff. Parents no longer have a voice, opinion or input regarding the quality of education their child receives. Instructors have free will to treat children with disrespect by yelling, screaming and demeaning students, if they so desire. Not all teachers do, but those that do so are supported. Teachers and staff are supported blindly without repercussions. This I feel is in order to make administration popular and favorable among the instructors. Unfortunately, in not having a strong management or administrative team has negatively impacted the school. Nevertheless, due to the affordable tuition, and the convenience of a small neighborhood school I am sure STL will continue to thrive, basically because of price and location. It may behoove you to look into another school if price and location is not your only factor when selecting a school.

This school is a little jewel. We came from another school catholic school when my child was in kindergarten. What sets the school part is the incredible community which revolves around the church. There is an incredible support structure for parents. Academics are very rigorous. It is very common for every child to get into the high school that they are attempting to go to whether they are trying to get into Lourdes Carrollton Columbus or Belen. For our family this has been a wonderful experience. Being realistic, nowhere is perfect especially not for everybody. Throughout the years I’ve heard of people want to pull their kids out just send them to other schools for their own reasons. At the end of the day my wife and I could not be happier that we are a part of this church school community.

I have 3 kids at St. Louis. We have been with the school for 8 years now and we absolutely love it. They teach your kids to be good, decent people with strong family values and their education so far has been on point. My 2 older kids have great teachers, learning experiences and place in top 10-15%ile in the IOWA testing yearly. My youngest in preschool is getting just the right combination of learning and play. We are more than happy and pleased at St. Louis.

The school lacks a lot, turnover rate with teachers is a bad, they pay too little, the new language arts teacher in middle school is very strict and is a dictator, the administration never supports the parents or students even though we pay their salaries. Archdioces of Miami needs to do an investigation of the conflict of interest and favoritism in this school.

We are so happy with our decision to put our daughter in this school. She has grown so much educationally and spiritually in just a short amount of time.

This school is not what it used to be. Academics are severely lacking. You don't realize it, of course, until you leave. The new principal and the administration in general are just awful. Parents don't have a voice. You have no idea what's going on in your children's classroom, but you'll know the exact dollar amount missing from capital campaign.

Very disappointing experience from administration, teachers and the school overall... Not worth such an investment in this private school for such poor treatment, unprofessional staff and very little compassion towards the students and parents. Resources are very limited when it comes to programs and or aid to special projects or programs. It is expected from the parents to constantly contribute for everything. Very disappointing!

I am I former student from St. Louis and I graduated not too long ago when the old principal was there. Let me tell you this school is definitely not what it was a couple years ago. The new principal could care less about the students education and only cares about the appearance of the school like new technology and remodeling. When parents complain he simply brushes them off as if it were no big deal. I have a family member that goes there now and every week they are celebrating something by not having any homework and eating loads of sugar in class. Of course the kids are happy but they aren't learning anything. Most of the good teachers are gone. This school is as good as dead and it would be a BIG mistake to send your kid here. The middle schoolers are in for a rude awakening when they enter high school because they will not be prepared. It's sad to see that everything that made this school special is gone.

A parent My kids love the school and there teachers. As a parent I feel happy to leave them everyday in the school, teachers are always smiling and the principal takes time to be there everywhere in other schools you only see the principals in really special occasions.

I graduated from this school two years ago and let me just start by saying that bullying is a huge problem. There are some kids there that are mean just to be mean. I was bullied myself and was very verbally abused. It was so bad that sometimes I cried over how miserable it was. It is a school filled with cliques and nobody does anything about it. They just tell them not to do it again and then just expect them to change. And besides the bullying aspect, the school itself is terrible. The teachers are terrible at controlling their classrooms and they know they're bad at it because they stress way too much whenever they try to get accepted into the archdiocese. It's all fake. The teachers are super strict and the littlest thing means detention. And they used to charge you ten bucks for detention (but I am happy to mention that does not go on anymore). Speaking your mind at this school is considered inappropriate behavior. I have friends now and some of them are even the ones from the school because not ALL of them are bullies, but most of them are. I'm only writing this because I don't want your children to go through what I went through. And others would agree with me.

This is a great school, my son will start first grade next year. He loves it. It's very small classes and the teachers are excellent.

Im your best source because this is a student.i think you should all no this school is fake, the teachers lie about everything and the school is bad at dealing with issues they deal with it for a week then give up.this school is so materialistic. The teachers and staff are a huge part in the school but they dont realize because theyre the reason the school is so bad.Half the teacher barely know how to teach and they call students names and cuss in front of the class,I learned new words this year but not from worldly wise. Not all the teachers are bad id say 1/20 of the teachers are fine. There is absolutely nothing I like about this school. My school could improve by actually being a good school, giving the students surveys and the students have to be 100% honest and they would actually listen to the kids, ask what teachers are good, what the school needs, and stuff like that,i think this horrid school could become 35% better.Oh and favoritism is HUGE! This school is not right for anyone! Please take my advice and NEVER come here trust me!

My school is the best! The teachers are really nice and work hard to make us good students and ready for high school. I love the laptop program that we have as I don't have to carry so many books and it's neat having my computer with me every day. The teachers make learning fun. I know my parents really like the school and the people who run it. I hear my friends from other schools talk about their school and they don't like the teachers so I am happy I am at St. Louis
