This is an incredible school that provides such a great support system for special needs children and their families. My child is in the inclusion preschool and is simply thriving. All of the teachers and staff are top notch.

If you are looking for special education you have two kind of schools the goods and the bad one. Children Resources is one of the good ones. It is an organization that work for the children. They care for their students. They help their families when they need help. The Director, Mrs.Gigi used to be a teacher there. She knows every program they use. They use a modified curriculum, that is different for every child, according with your child needs and develop. I saw children running faster than typical school, other at public school level and others below. They offer, soccer and yoga during physical education and all the teachers has a good curriculum, but more important they love to teach! In pre-school grade they offer an inclusion program. The phycologist, Erica, check that every student has his own milestone goals. At the school they offer speech, OT and PT that works with medicare, CMS and some other insurance. Summer camps are super fun.

This is one of those rare places that are good in every way. When you deal with children with ASD or other disabilities things are going to happen. The school always reacts appropriately in my opinion. In regards to a previous negative post all I can say is that Children with ASD can elope. This is not the schools fault and it can happen to anyone, anytime. Regardless, the school addresses it by building a fence which shows they take a lesson learned approach and are proactive in keeping that from happening again. Some children learn differently than others so the staff works with the children in different ways. People like Ms. Gigi, Dr. Berger, Ms. Lourdes, Ms. Betsy, Ms. Monica, Ms. Cary and Ms. Victoria are just some of the folks I have dealt with there and I have never for a moment doubted that they cared for my child. I have never been so at peace with leaving my child somewhere as I am with this school. My only regret is that it does not continue through grade 12, but no matter, my son will attend through whatever grade they provide. Most importantly, the inclusion program they run is helping to create a better community for all of us, where children with different disabilities interact with other "normal" children. This teaches everyone to respect others and appreciate others regardless of what their "difference" is. This is so valuable for all of us and something sorely needed for more children throughout our community. My child is thriving. He is learning to speak, he is interacting with others and he is doing better and I have this school to thank for it!

My daughter attends this school and she is thriving. Her teachers and all of the staff are amazing and so attentive. She adores each & everyone of them, as do we. The Director is an amazing lady. My husband & I are so impressed with the school. They really go over & above to make everyone happy. I would give it 10 stars if I could.

I am sorry to read the post below and that the then director and assistant director would not say goodbye to a child. That really is a very sorry situation. The psychologist Dr Erika Berger is an excellent professional and very caring person. I am not surprised to read she did say goodbye. Just a note about Mrs Rapaport, though. She retired and the new director is Gigi del Valle. Ms Gigi is also an excellent professional and caring person, and along with Dr Berger makes for a great team leading the school. Again I am sorry this happened to a mom and child. I hope this doesn't happen again and that you give the school a chance with the new leadership. There is no perfect place and there will always be room for improvement. I have been a parent at the school for many years and I can safely say this: What I love about Ms Gigi and Ms Erika is that they are open to change, have outstanding credentials, and have the most caring hearts one can hope for when it comes to a child's education. Give them a chance :)

No recomendable

In response to the parent comment dated July 14 2014, I do think you missed the point of the issue. Your comments are both disheartening and apathetic to say the least. You condone the actions of the school and staff but sacrifice my son s safety to catapult the school s reputation. You are correct; a tragedy had been avoided. However, do not get blinded sided by the fact that a lapse in safety measures exposed the school s deficiency at the expense of a special needs child. You and I share a common theme on the end of the school day to embrace, caress and glare at the utter excitement and bewilderedness of the innocence of a special needs child for another day. Many parents mourn instead. Yours in peace, Father

Very happy with this school. My son has been going there since kindergarten. my only regret is that this school went up to 6th grade. he gets one on one attention with homework everyday in the after school program as well. All the staff know their kids by names and are passionate about what they do. highly recommend school.

Both of my boys are attending summer camp here, in such a short time everyone here has earned a big place in our hearts. Teachers and staff, really care for the children, here they are treated with love, compassion and respect. We came with our broken wings with one boy terrified of school due to two bad previous experiences and the other who had lost speech. In less than a week everything stared to change...Today, they both look forward going everyday and we are hearing that little voice once lost coming back full force. All we have for this wonderful school are words of gratitude for all the support we have received. This is a school that excels is every area and that is really a bless for those children that have the fortune to attended it. Thanks for this wonderful time Children Resources!

In defense of Children's Resources, particularly the teachers and staff involved in the incident referenced in previous review, I know that in response to his attempt to escape from playground, school had a taller fence built (2 ft taller), and this was expedited immediately; teachers were on playground supervising, and teachers and staff stopped him before he was able to leave school grounds. 3. A locking bar was also added to automatic entry doors. The school's response and proactive actions hardly seem like apathetic behavior and I commend the teachers for their quick response and measures taken to prevent future incidents.

This is a great school where the whole staff is very responsive to all parents questions I highly recommend this school to many parents. This is a school where your kid can have autism and EVERYONE will help, the lead teacher and the director are sweet and take great care of the children and answer all the parents questions.

I highly recommend this school. My youngest was diagnosed with development delay, at the age of two he wasn t talking, eating solids, socializing, responding to his name or making eye contact. A year after he attended Children Resources it all changed. He is now four and is up to his social, academic and speech level. I will always be grateful to his teachers and therapists: Ms. Monica, Ms. Betsy, Ms. Betty, Angela and Marisol. My oldest also attended pre kinder with Ms. Clara, Ms. Adria and Ms. Carmen. Their personal is wonderful, a place where you can be sure they are teaching, loving your child and pushing them to be all they can be. Children Resources will always have a place in my family s heart.
