Oh man, where do I even start? As a senior, I’ve had a front-row seat to this school's slow-motion train wreck. This year? Absolute rock bottom. We’ve had teachers straight-up quit mid-year, like full-on “I’m out” moments. No one wants to sub because the students are a nightmare. The hallways are basically a free-for-all all day long, but as long as you play football, basketball, or are tight with certain “coaches,” you’re untouchable. If you actually care about getting an education, do yourself a favor and cross Weiss off your list. I almost transferred my freshman year, and I regret not doing it—Hendrickson isn’t amazing, but it’s a solid step up from this mess.

I am a current student at Weiss High School, and fortunately, I will be leaving next year. This school provides little to no decent services in any of the subjects taught. Teachers are unreliable, and they talk ill of students behind their backs. Moreover, they have little knowledge of the subjects they teach. For the sake of privacy, I won't give any specific examples, but teachers are often assigned to teach subjects they didn't study in college. For instance, a math major might be assigned to teach biology. This is very distressing, especially for someone who has seen the special needs program. Most of the teachers there don't know how to act towards those with disabilities. The school has nearly no clubs or extracurricular activities compared to other schools, and college preparation is subpar. In my opinion, it would be best if you choose another school. This is because if your student is smart, they won't be challenged, if your student has needs, they won't be helped, and if you're average, you'll be invisible.

Weiss is a horrible school. While some teachers are good, most have no idea what they are doing or bully students. We got new councilors this year because the old ones vanished over the summer. We have three for all four grades; one councilor I talked to said that she has 700 kids on her caseload. Everyone I know has a messed up schedule. Four of my classes are messed up and they wouldn't let me contact anyone until the third day of school. Last year there were multiple medical emergencies a week. That number was not helped when a teacher ignored a girl who had passed out for FOUR HOURS! That teacher was not fired. It is also difficult for small clubs to even exist. Last year, the French Club was told the night before a field trip we'd be required to pay for the sub. The trip was canceled that same night. You can not grow clubs without doing fun activities and you can not do those activities unless you have funding. The school provides no support unless you are a giant department. These bigger activities need less support yet get more. Make that make sense.Another "fun" thing I had to experience was getting made fun of my a sub for having a lisp. He asked me what country I was from, did not believe me when I said America, made me admit the (rather obvious) fact that I had a lisp, then made laughed at me for turning red. This is not okay. No student should be made fun of for a disability. The design of the building is also bad. You have seven minutes to pass through an incredibly long hallway, crowded with 500 kids going the opposite direction, then you have to find your class, and the room numbers don't even make sense. Then if you are late, you get detention. The teacher shortage is also hitting Weiss hard. There is the previously mention councilor issue as well as several classes that don't even have teachers. If you are looking for a school that will nuture you child and help them succed in life, do not send them to Weiss.

This school is unable to do anything correctly . Schedules will more than likely be incorrect and the counslerswill be little to no help. The school is usually understand leaving students with teachers who either no nothing about the subject or are just bad at teaching in general. Because of this I had trouble in some of my classes that I need to graduate because of bad teaching and needing to switch between 4 teachers in one year. And the school cares more about wither you just show up then if your actually learning anything. I was pulled out of class for unexcused absence even though I was caught up with my work and passing. And because they pulled me out of class I missed an important lesson and had to play catchup since the material was going to be on a test. This school cares little about the wellbeing of students and I didn't even know I had a school counsler till I had to look them up to make a complaint for my messed up schedule.

The school itself isn't that great compared to some of the other schools I've been to. The pandemic caused the school to go virtual which was mandatory but after the mandate was lifted, the school changed the administration team to that of the new principal. They changed the school entirely and not in a good way. The school used to be good and a new learning environment considered it was built in 2017 pre-pandemic. The administration team was strict, ensured students went to class, weren't late, and had programs and learning opportunities. Now, because of the negligence of Pflugerville ISD, they are turning a deaf ear to some of the teachers' complaints.

Administration on this campus is quite strict and I'm okay with that. I believe students should be held liable for their actions. This is my student's first year of school at Weiss and she has had positive experiences with teachers, staff and students.

I really love this school. This is the second high school I've gone to in the district, and I absolutely love the school culture here. It's so easy to get involved, and high grades are greatly encouraged.

This is a very new school and the recent events and meetings gives us a hope this is a much better school than its peers in the neighborhood
