We moved here from a state where there is no school of choice so I was very overwhelmed. I decided to give our neighborhood school a try because I am a strong advocate for public schools. I cannot say enough about the amazing experience we had at Mountain View. I have never felt such a strong sense of community and belonging. The PTO does a fantastic job working with the school and holds wonderful events and fundraising opportunities. The staff all truly care for the students and go above and beyond for them. My daughter did not qualify for speech but they still took extra time to work with her on the few areas she was weak in and now she is thriving! My daughter loves coming to school everyday and cries when she has to stay home sick because she misses her teacher. Academically there is no score for this school because state testing does not begin until 3rd grade and they are only K-2, but you can look up Northeast (their sister school down the road) who houses 3-5 and see how amazing the test scores are. We are so grateful for this school and community.

As a parent of a child diagnosed with ADHD, navigating the educational system can be challenging. Unfortunately, my experience with Mountain View Elementary has been one of frustration and disappointment due to their inadequate support and communication regarding my son's needs. From the outset, it was made clear to Mountain View Elementary that my son has ADHD. During the initial meeting, we discussed strategies and accommodations to help him succeed academically and socially. However, despite these discussions, there has been a glaring lack of follow-through on the school's part. One of the most concerning issues has been the complete absence of communication about next steps. We were assured that the school would work with us to implement the agreed-upon accommodations, but there has been no proactive effort on their part to do so. Instead, we have been left in the dark, unsure of what steps, if any, are being taken to support our son. Furthermore, the situation escalated when Mountain View Elementary suspended my son immediately following our 504 plan meeting. This action not only undermined the purpose of the meeting but also demonstrated a disregard for his individual needs and challenges. Despite our efforts to address these concerns with Mountain View Elementary's administration, we have been met with defensiveness and attempts to shift blame onto us as parents. Rather than taking responsibility for their failure to adhere to the agreed-upon plan, the school has continued to push us aside and neglect our son's needs. Adding insult to injury, the school even attempted to throw my son's absences in my face, despite the fact that I am working two jobs and recently had to move his dad out of state. This lack of empathy and understanding only exacerbates the already challenging situation we are facing. This lack of accountability, communication, and empathy is not only disappointing but also deeply concerning for my son's well-being and academic progress. Children with ADHD require additional support and understanding to thrive in a school environment, and it is disheartening to see Mountain View Elementary fall short in providing that support.

We love Mountain View! The staff and administration are incredible. They are truly great people who care so much about the students and community at the school. My older child has moved on to Northeast and he was so well prepared. We are so happy to be part of the MVE community!

We did not feel we were a part of their community at any point. Great teachers do not overshadow poor administration from the top. Numerous safety and educational concerns.

After pondering what was the best school for our kiddos, we are so glad we chose mountain view. The staff love their kids and the kids love their school. After volunteering in the school for 3 years I have witnessed just how well this school performs and how much the teachers care and love what they do. The administration is very effective and nothing gets lost in the system due to it being such a small school. Seeing the principal stand at the door and greet each student by name every morning made me smile every time.

The moment I called to inquire about what was needed to enroll my daughter, Ms. Becky was very helpful and informative. When we went to the school she was kind enough to give my duaghterr a tour while I filled out the paperwork. All of the staff has been professional and very helpful whenever I go to the school to volunteer or attending and event. I'm very happy to be apart of the MVE Family and my daughter is too.

Mountain view is an outstanding school! As a teacher myself I look for an environment where my children can learn in a safe, nurturing, fun environment! Mountain view has that and more!

Mountain View is the sweetest place on Earth. Kids are truly known and welcomed by every staff member in the building. The playground field is full of building blocks and outdoor musical instruments. The walls are covered with student creations. The school is filled with smiles and learning. The kids are happy and well taken care of. They are looked at as more than their test score, but as an individual who needs support and learning across a multitude of areas. The kids learn to be leaders and role models, and how to work together. Parents and their younger siblings are able to come alongside their students and teachers and be a part of the learning and fun, not shut out of the school. It is a special, hidden secret tucked into the fields of the Pinery.

I am a parent of 2 at Mountain View, and I have to admit that I am constantly impressed. I feel that the communication between parents and teachers is consistent, accurate and timely. As well, the staff is very friendly, and quite knowledgeable. I am very happy with the academics - I have a child who struggles to read, and the individual attention and emphasis on literacy is quite wonderful. The kids are friendly and it seems to me that if there is a behavior problem, it is dealt with in a timely and fair manner. Bottom line, my kids FEEL SAFE AND LOVE TO GO TO SCHOOL!

My son started having behavioral issues and their idea was to keep him away from kids. No breaks with kids .. No lunch with kids... They are making him hate himself and trying to hurt himself. If i was him i would hate school too! For him trying to hurt himself he got suspeded for a week? Like really? I'm starting to think this is a race thing. .... he hates school like what's the point of waking up going to school just to be by yourself? You guysbare degrading my son and I'm not gonna put u with it anymore.

Welcome to Mountain View Elementary! You will see a NR (no rating) for our school because this rating is partially based on test scores. Testing does not start in Colorado until 3rd grade, and we are a PK-2 school. Mountain View is a primary, neighborhood school that strives to provide a nurturing environment focusing on what is good for young children academically, socially and emotionally. We encourage you to contact the Mountain View Office to set up an opportunity to see and feel our AMAZING school. You may also visit our website at mvp.dcsdk12.org, like us on Facebook @mountainviewelementaryparker, or call us at 303-387-8675. Sincerely, Millie Grotts, Principal

I have a kindergartner and a preschooler at Mountain View and we LOVE the school.I tried both Montessori and a charter school before landing at this neighborhood school. I was sure that my kids would thrive in a different environment — but I was so wrong. We left both of our prior schools feeling dejected and disappointed. The preschool classrooms at Mountain View are amazing. My current preschooler loves his teacher and class and for my older child, preschool gave him the perfect preparation for Kindergarten and the Kindie room where he is this year is GREAT. His academics are so strong, I am really impressed with how much he is already doing in reading and math. The teachers at Mountain View are thoroughly invested in helping both of my kids succeed and love going school. But the story goes much beyond just the teachers. The entire staff is so caring and so well-prepared to help.My older son has had some challenges with behavior and his teachers, principal, specials teachers, and entire staff are all there to help. They take an active role in making sure he is doing well and they keep me involved and informed. We are so glad we found Mountain View!

This is my daughters first year at Mountain View and she absolutely loves it. The staff is wonderful and she has exceeded in her academics beyond my expectations for kindergarten. She has a great teacher who sincerely cares about her students and their needs. I would highly recommend this school. We live in Elizabeth and did some research on which school would be best for her and I'm so glad we went with Mountain View.

My son was enrolled in their preschool program and now is in Kindergarten. The staff is friendly, even the support staff knows his name. His teachers, previous and present are friendly, patient and knowledgeable on his academic needs. His teachers have always communicated his current aptitude and what he can do to excel. He enjoys learning and has fun doing it. The school is always in communication with me, whether it involves the school, district or with my son. And that’s a good thing, I rather know more and dissect the info that is applicable to me. Overall, it’s been a wonderful experience.

We have had a great start at MVE. Our class is small, around 20 students. Every adult at school knows my child's name. Based on the work that's coming home I can tell that common core expectations are high and she is encouraged to meet or exceed them. I'm excited as this is a k-2, that my child will be a leader in the second grade. This is a true, primary school which is hard to find,

Our son transferred to Mountain View a month after the start of the year. We had a bad experience at a local private school and were nervous about the switch. His Kindergarten teacher helped him handle the transition really well. He has made some great strides in the class and we're so pleased we made the change. We highly recommend Mountain View Elem school and staff. Everyone we have encountered has been friendly, always greeting our son by name and with a smile. The staff is knowledgeable and constantly communicating with the parents, which is much appreciated. We are happy parents and look forward to our son continuing his education at Mountain View.
