We love the teachers and principal. My daughter has special medical needs and they work with us, to make sure that she has what she needs and go above a beyond. Amazing school!

I have to disagree with past poster. I work closely with the administration and although funding is a concern for all schools at this time, the administration does their best to NOT focus on this and continue to do what is best for all students. Meeting the needs of students both academically and emotionally is the main focus of PCE.

Principal does not care about the student as an individual and only cares about test scores and funding. Used to like the school but with the new leadership I’m looking to move my children to a new school.

Why one star? - Poor leadership -Therapists for children with special needs or in need of extra support do not provide adequate feedback nor are they held accountable for service minutes; Our family has specifically requested feedback on therapy sessions on over 8 occassions and the therapy is not targeting the goals appropriately -Security concerns: Parents enter into building without signing in at front desk; playground has low supervision and is not safe from entrance of public intruders; 6th grade classrooms are located in mobile trailers outside the school-Lack of confidentiality at least in our experience from the principal regarding concerns brought to her attention-Art and music are horrible--black and white Xerox copies for children to color in is not art--where are the age/grade appropriate art pieces related to Van Gogh, Picaso, Michelangelo, Monet, Rembrandt? And there is no music concert the children participate in for music class-There should be a hello/acknowledment from every staff member to every adult/child walking through the building; Less then 10% of staff members acknowledge parents walking through the hallways--staff members should be setting a good example

Throughout the years I've had such positive experiences at Prairie Crossing Elementary. My child has thrived since attending this school. She comes home everyday with a smile on her face. She has loved her teachers, peers and all the personalized learning that takes place in the classroom. I believe a school should be a warm, welcoming, and a safe place for students to come that foster their learning. I have volunteered at PCE for several years and have gotten to know the principal and staff very well. They have been so supportive and always have children as their number one priority. When I'm at school volunteering, I see several parents involved, a friendly staff and happy, independent children. I could not ask for a better community of administrators, teachers, parents and children. Everyone at PCE has been responsible for producing a strong, independent and confident little girl.

Prairie Crossing has always been a very warm and welcoming environment. I have always been pleased with the communication between parent and teacher. Our current teacher sends out weekly email updates and also uses a great classroom app so I can see pictures and videos of my kiddo throughout the day. I love seeing him in action. Teachers do an amazing job differentiating for students. I would hate for my student to be at a desk all day filling out worksheets. I love that students are up doing hands on activities. PCE's mission is based around personalized learning and I really have felt that my kiddo enjoys school so much more now that he is having more control over his learning.

Prairie Crossing has been a great fit for our family. Our kids love going to school and as parents, my husband and I are very comfortable walking into the building. The staff is amazing and the atmosphere is welcoming. We have been at Prairie Crossing for 4 years and have been very satisfied. My kids are learning so much and are also being exposed to world issues. I love that our school donates school supplies to children in Belize. Some of our very own teachers fly down each year and train the teachers in Belize and spend time teaching the children. The whole experience is captured on Mrs. Blair's Blog. Mrs. Blair is our amazing technology teacher and she is such a kind human being. This year my 2nd grade kids got to Skype with the kids in Belize and it was an eye opener for them. Our school worked together to help one our very own teachers find a kidney. There was also an amazing turnout for the Officer Brite fundraiser. I can go on and on about all the amazing things that are accomplished at our school. I just want people to know Prairie Crossing is more than a neighborhood school, it is an extended family. Students, families and staff are loving and supportive. Prairie Crossing is well balanced. The education for each student is individualized. All 3 of my kids have different learning needs and their needs are being met. I know when my kids leave Prairie Crossing they will be smart, educated and confident individuals ready to take the next steps in life.

My family could not be happier with Prairie Crossing Elementary. Everyone is very friendly and helpful, such a great feeling right when you walk in the door. This is a great group of educators who all work together to provide the best for both of my children. Prairie Crossing offers art, music, PE, library, technology, in addition to the many academic opportunities in math and Literacy (individualized learning). My kids are always doing fun science and social studies projects that are hands on. The staff care about my children and are truly helping to shape their success. Everyone works as a team. The homework is a very reasonable amount which allows my kids to participate in after school activities and sports, this works well for my family. The Principal listens to the parent community and cares about each and every student. Being able to volunteer has always been important to me and Prairie Crossing supports their parent volunteers. Most importantly, my children are happy and love school!

I have two children at Prairie Crossing and we have been so happy! PCE always keeps the best interest of the children at the forefront. The staff and principal care about the children - a home away from home.I am also very pleased at the high level of academic expectations and rigor. I was amazed just to see what they were learning in Kindergarten when they first started there. The PCEA is very active and always looking for ways to support the students and staff. The events they have are always a big hit with the students! Another great way to bring our community together. Finally, I need to mention the incredible amount of technology resources that are available to the teachers and students. It is 1:1 computers for every student in 1st - 6th. This allows my children to get the necessary technology experience as they move up in the grades. The projects they do are amazing. My favorite thing about the school is the sense of community and "down-to-earth" people. I'm very glad to have my children at Prairie Crossing .

Prairie Crossing has been amazing for my daughter. She came into Kindergarten as a non-reader and going into first grade is reading at a second grade level. She loved her teacher and her class. She can't wait to get back to school for this next year. The technology at Prairie Crossing is so much more than you would find at any other school. Kids really learn what they need to know as the next generation. The teachers and principal at this school love their kids and it shows!

My daughter has attended PCE since she was in kindergarten and just recently moved on to middle school where she is doing very well. We have always felt welcome and loved by this school. She has enjoyed every teacher she has had the privilege to work with and we always felt like her individual needs were being met. I am also a teacher and have the highest expectations and warmest regards for all teachers. I have nothing but love for this school and the way they meet the needs of all learners.

My children have been attending Praire Crossing for two years for preschool-1st grade. We are very thankful that we have such an outstanding school for our children to attend. The staff and teachers are amazing and the technology program is fantastic thanks to the great Mrs. Blair!

Our children love this school. We were concerned after what seemed like a long summer break that they would have a difficult time adjusting to the routine of school. After their first day they were both excited an have been every day since. This is telling of the teachers at Prairie Crossing. GREAT SCHOOL

My two kids are so far very much enjoying Prairie Crossing. The teachers have been awesome and the Principal has been vey enthusiastic and very much in tune with the kids and school. I was a skeptical having my kids come into the school from a private school, but we have been more than happy so far. I would thoroughly recommend Prairie Crossing. Every Parent I talk to also says great things about the school.

High praise for Prairie Crossing! Dont be lulled into thinking TCAPs say everything about a school. You can see in the numbers there are 4 or 5 kids who are underperforming and must be on an IEP or ILP. My 5th grader chose to stay at PCE rather than transfer to the charter school because he liked his teacher so much. The charter was interested in him but not too much in my younger who is on an IEP and has some learning deficits. They said "we want our kids to be a year ahead, I dont think your son would be happy here". The spec ed staff has treated my son with respect and concern, has been open to ideas, flexible and most of all dedicated to helping him succeed. His teacher has been so good to advocate for his needs with the spec. ed staff. We were very happy about change in writing curriculum as well as change in math curriculum from Everyday Math to Singapore. He is finally learning math basics and algebraic concepts that he is going to need to advance to higher math.

I am very pleased with this school. The school has a true sense of community and parent involvement. The focus is on the big picture, not a week of tests. The technology at this school is fantastic as is the teacher teaching it. It is embedded in everything - I love that. They try to best practices into practice and not just say they are. The principal is GREAT! He runs the school always concerned about the kids first. He makes education decisions as an educator not because parents think they know more; like in other Parker schools. My only negative is that a majority of the primary teacher s classrooms although pretty, well organized and neat, are not set up with boys in mind.

Why are the csap scores so bad compared to other area schools? The principal has a no homework policy I've heard and maybe that is why my kids arent held accountable for anything. All their friends have now transfered out of the school to go to better ones in the area.

I would be cautious upon considering sending your student to Prairie Crossing. I have been disappointed with the principal's knowledge level of classroom instruction and assessment. My experience with this school is that the staff's ability to differentiate instruction is challenging. In addition, when reviewing the school's CSAP scores it is disappointing to see their declining scores within the past 3 years. While this school has staff members that are very friendly and welcoming, the quality of this school's performance is currently not competitive with other Parker schools.

The teachers and principal are absolutely the best I have ever encountered. They care and take initiative to make their students succeed.
