At Fessenden School, they put a lot of pride into sleep deprivation of certain students. The subjects were fun at certain times, and required some lengthy written term papers. At Fessenden, I enjoyed the social interaction with other boys, and music and plays were always fun.

My son attended Fessenden and it was a nurturing environment with strong schoolacademics.

We researched many schools for our son and Fessenden was the best fit for our son. This school has been an excellent for him. They know boys well and our son is thriving. An extremely strong academic foundation with Singapore Math and reading workshop. The science classes are exceptional. But what truly sets it apart is their character education built on honesty, manners, responsibility, empathy, and kindness. Our son comes home from school and asks me if he can help me around the house. If you are considering sending your child to Fessenden, you will not be disappointed. Simply excellent!

I graduated from Fessenden many years ago, but still regard it as the best time of my life. This is an English-style boarding school, so don't expect to see NEA-style namby-pamby codlling here. This school is where boys are taught to be gentlemen, and to take their place in society. Some parents who complained in their reviews probably don't get what a school like Fessy is all about. Please send your kids to Montessori School, or some other touchy-feely place. Fessenden has been turning out fine young men for 120 years; they are clearly doing something right

My son was an 8th grade international boarder at Fessenden. Our overall experience was great! His dorm parents are so nice! The weekend trips are great, a lot of things to do given the proximity to Boston. Best school in the area!

Fessenden is a wonderful school! Our son is going into his 6th year there and we couldnt imagine him anywhere else!! They truly understand boys and we've been extremely satisfied with the academics!

The school is a hot mess. Priorities are completely out of line and they continue to sugar-coat it. The children ultimately pay the price because the faculty and staff are at a constant battle with leadership and administration. The school wants your $$ at any and all costs. That's the bottom line. They would rent your child out to another family if it meant more $$ for them.

We were pleased with our lower school experience, but the middle school is a disaster. The attractive looking campus should not seduce families into thinking that the academics are also as well tended. Teachers are not held accountable for lesson plans, there is minimal reading and writing, and students' educational needs are largely ignored. Very disappointing, given our generally positive lower school experience.

If you aren't a jock...forget it. Sports are king. All the teachers are jocks too.

This school is terrible. I am an alumni and happy I left. Kids bully you, and the teachers do nothing, not to mention the price. Do not get involved with Fessenden.
