Excellent communication from the teachers and principal. The children are pushed academically, but in a way that is nurturing and supportive. The school has an engaged, diverse community. Although Newton is quite a wealthy city, the atmosphere is very neighborhoody and not at all pretentious. Really a loving, dynamic school environment for young children. Plus, the newly rebuilt facility is gorgeous.

The school community is amazing. From the first few weeks of kindergarten, families are given ample opportunities to connect with other parents and students. The PTA is so engaged, but not in annoying overreaching ways- it’s all about fun and community for the kids. The teachers arm warm and caring. Our child loves going to school every morning and feels supported by their teacher.The facility is also amazing. Brand new, clean and bright. These are lucky kids!

This school is mediocre. After the Covid shutdown, we became very aware of the lack of leadership and drive toward excellence. We, our neighbors and our friends all commented that our children completed the school work in about an hour. Every email and every phone call had a tone of low expectations, difficulties and failure. There was not one single comment of making an attempt to succeed. The focus on the upcoming new school year has the expectation that students will be behind academically. I would say that with that attitude, it will come true. We are moving.

Zervas teachers and community have been amazing. My older son has Aspergers and he received all the support he needed to thrive.

Great principal leadership and parent involvement. Very focused on what is best for the child and committed to that. Majority of teachers are excellent.
