I have my both kids going to this school Grade-1, Grade-4 at the time of writing this review, the teachers are very experienced and further stepping up to help the kids. Overall a positive experience moving from Fremont to Milpitas school district, the school runs like a family everyone knows everyone and ready to help and lend support, it is not what I have seen in Fremont's Asian dominated school district where everything is about parents doing everything to keep the school's rating high.

My two kids went to Burnett elementary school. Most of the teachers were very impatient. Whether the kids were in special education or not, I have witnessed and heard the staff complain to parents every day after school. The staff allowed my kids to be bullied at school, while the staff were very quick to jump to conclusions to further victimize my kids. My kids cried from attending the school for 5 years, while seeing a mental health therapist weekly (just for the issues they were having at school), but my kids continued to be very unhappy attending this school, until they went to a better school. My kids are much happier now. They never want to return to William Burnett.

Teachers are great and the staff is very friendly. Teachers pay lot of attention to the pupils and homework is always manageable and meaningful. Kudos to the Principal, Teachers and Staff.

Horrible accountability in special education. My son's teacher has demonstrated no ability or intention of addressing common core standards for his grade level in developmentally appropriate ways. The classroom is depressing and there is no apparent cohesion within the curriculum she appears to be making up as she goes along with a series of printable worksheets, that seem unintentional.

My child is in 5th and she is in a combo (5th and 6th) class. So far they have learned quite a bit and her teacher has lots of experience. This school doesn't have a lot of bullying. They teach the kids how to be strong and be role models for the younger students. Homework is sometimes hard for her, but not too much. Great school.

Very good school. Teachers are very sincere. School administration is taking lot of steps to take the school to next level. My girl goes to kindergarten. Every Friday we get a chance to see our kids school work. school is quite transparent. They learn a lot. Very much satisfied with this school.

Bad school. Teachers are not interested to teach. They teach minimum curriculum. This school teaches one grade level down as compared to Marshall Pomeroy. The same week , Marshall Pomeroy kids were learning to write 5 sentences and my kid's class was writing aplhabets in a bubble, not even on a 3 lined paper.

My son goes to this school and Richard Julian is the worst principal ever. My kid has speech problems and he hit someone, which hitting is wrong,, because some kid was taunting him. The only person that got in trouble was my child and the prinicpal told me it was unprovoked, but when I asked his teacher she told me it was provoked. the principal at this school is nothing, but a bully. I also complained about him. He did not get reprimanded or nothing. It was his first offense and he get both recesses taken away from a 6 year old. How fair was that.

The staff and principal at Burnett Elementary School are innovative and caring individuals. The principal is involved in what happens in the classrooms where our teachers are collaborating to provide our students with high quality learning experiences with a focus on personalized learning. Last year our 1st grade teachers teamed together to provide our students with an intense learning project that was driven by the question, "what do we need for good health?" With teacher guidance, the students delved in to various questions related to good health such as, "what happens to our hearts if we eat too many fats and sweets?" and "why do we need sleep for our brains to work efficiently?" In the spring the students hosted a health fair where they showcased their work and taught visitors about the answers to these and many other questions they had posed throughout their studies. Our principal, Mr. Rich Julian, documented the event with his camera, one of those pictures was used in our Spring MUSD Staff Newsletter: http://pub.lucidpress.com/MUSDstaffnewsletter/

This is a fantastic school. Mr. Julian is hands down one of the best principals you could ever have. My daughter attended Burnett from second grade to fourth. We are relocating to southern California and will miss Burnett very much. If you have a child going to third grade you want Ms. Romano. She is an amazing teacher. Actually all the Burnett teachers are great, I'm just partial to her.

I've had three children attend Burnett between 1999 and 2014. I have seen a lot of improvements in this time. Mr. Julian is a great principal. He really cares about all of the kids, greeting them by name and encouraging them to do well. The school is a leader in the use of technology in education. Most of the teachers I have dealt with are excellent - some real stand-outs are Mrs. Elizondo, Mrs. Romano, and the current 6th grade team, Mrs. Harlow, Mrs. Stallings, and Ms. Mandeville. The halls of the school are lined with the students' art and writing projects. There is an after-school instrumental music program, and Glee Club (thank you Mrs. Barberon!). After-school tutoring and homework club is also available. One of my children was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome while attending Burnett, and the 504 Plan team was very helpful in providing the accommodations my child needed in order to be successful.

The teachers at Burnett aren't very good. The Intermediate side's science teacher does not teach very well. Most students there aren't very good either, and most seem to not care about their studies, and intend to focus mostly on other more unimportant things.
