This is a very nice school. The teachers care about the students education. The students are nice and respectful to each other. I am very happy so far with this school.

Thomas Russell Middle School is terrible. The principal Mr. Anglin Favors some kids over others. Hands out suspensions like it is candy. The teachers do not know the child in there class IEP. The Sciences teachers are the worst. They lack the ability to teach. The old principal and vice principal were better. These two are ineffective and choose favorites. They also lie to you about what a child did. I would not recommend this school at all.

I had a very bad experience at this school. But it was still MUCH better than my experience at neighboring Milpitas High School, the latter of which I strongly detest. Like Milpitas High School, the teachers here are ineffective. They do not teach properly. Some of the teachers and the school administrators (most notably the Vice Principal) are very favorable towards those from lower-income backgrounds. In fact, higher-income students often receive much more severe punishments than those from lower-income backgrounds for the same offense.

During my two years here I had a complete blast. Everyone is just so much fun to get to know, and there is no shortage of activities to participate in. Once you get to know your teachers it is just so much fun just to talk to them. It also is easier if you need someone to talk to. Teachers are always checking in on you socially and academically, to make sure you are okay.

Every teacher cares about the students and how they do in school. If you even have a C-, the teachers will check in with you. Their system of PLP is a great way for the students to learn independently.

This middle school has traditionally has some of the highest scores and achievement in Milpitas and typically above the high school. Demographics are similar to nearby Warm Springs area. Parents involved in their children's education and many come from cultures where education is highly valued. Multi-cultural student population reflective of SF Bay Area and particularly south bay. Most teachers are excellent and care about their students and are engaged in district initiatives as well as migration to new common core standards. This district is recognized by state as a model for using technology in learning environment and is showcased annually with an International conference on technology and education. Milpitas Unified School District continues to improve its scores and continues to manage challenges and changes with solid leadership. Milpitas is probably best kept secret in the south bay for safe, middle class, small sized city with a good school system that is steadily improving.

My daughter is in 7th grade at this School. She had a health issue that needed special attention from the school staff. I sent an email to the principal explaining her problem and asking for special accommodation. I was surprised the principal immediately took an action: he answered right away letting me know the counselor would take care of the special request. I was amazed that counselor/staff/teachers involved worked together to give a solution, and at the same day I was called to the school and everything was accommodated. My daughter loves this school. She loves all her teachers. Everyone in this school is kind and welcome parents and students. Congratulations to everyone who work hard to make this school pleasant to everybody.
