Robert Randall Elementary School : I am so grateful we found Randall Elementary for my daughter. She is in first grade, and after struggling with bullying at her previous school, we decided to transfer her here. I was initially worried about how she would adjust, but to my surprise, she settled in within just two weeks! The school has a very welcoming atmosphere for new families. I love that they offer Spanish language learning opportunities for students. The staff, including the office administration and principal, are all fantastic. They’ve been incredibly supportive and understanding, making us feel like part of the Randall community right from the start. My daughter is now excited to go to school every day, which has been a huge relief for us as parents. We are so happy we made the decision to transfer, and we feel very lucky to have found such a great elementary school for our child.

My little cousin goes to the school and they treat him horribly. He is a troubled kid, yet it is not his fault. The school is aware of this but the teachers discriminate against him. They did not accept him into the after school program with no valid reasoning. Claiming it was because he was not well behaved. He recently got a head injury where his head was bleeding and they let him sit out in the office waiting while they let a little girl with a headache go in before even though he got there first.

I have been a Randall parent since the 2020/2021 school year and now have 2 kids there. My daughter is finishing TK with Mrs Diana and my son is finishing 2nd grade with Mrs Gonzalez. Like all the teachers we’ve had, these 2 women are a godsend. Mrs Gonzalez and her students work hard so they can play hard and she has helped my son get up to the reading level he’s supposed to be at. He was able to go from a level 10/12 at the beginning of the year, to a 26/28 at the end! The majority of her class that were behind in the beginning have improved. My son is now fluent in Spanish and we don’t have native Spanish speakers in our household. My daughter is already ahead in her reading level thanks to Mrs Diana and her direction. The school has improved in their communication with parents and I have been able to volunteer a couple times. I look forward to meeting more of the staff and watching my kids thrive.

We have had two amazing teachers at this school. Ms. Vargas and Ms. Gordoa. They have been just the best and my son is able to read and write in Spanish now. The only thing I have to complain is the whole covid situation. It is now two years later since the pandemic and the district and school are still not allowing parents on campus, even though we just had an event and all parents were on campus...makes no sense AT ALL. I understand wanting to keep students safe (I also work in a school) but keeping parents off campus makes no difference as our children live in the same house as we do obviously we share the same air. It just seems ridiculous it's been two years now. We have all learned to live with covid ( a cold) and are living our normal lives now. Hopefully the district makes some changes.

The listed scores are outdated and do not reflect the quality of this school. Randall offers a dual-immersion program that teaches students both English and Spanish giving them a leg up on students in other schools. My kid has attended Randall for 4 years now and we have found the teachers to be nurturing, the administration to be practical, and the community to be tight. When the pandemic happened, the school quickly transitioned to virtual learning and provided a lot of support to students and families. The district is investing a lot in Randall with new facilities as well as expanding the academic programs.

My daughter has been at this school for 3 years in the dual immersion program and her Spanish is asking!! She loves getting compliments on it when she talks to others. Aside from her amazing language development I have been so impressed with how the school has handled the shut downs from coronavirus and moving to digital learning. We had less than a week before they started online classes and small groups for reading. This year her teacher has worked with all of the kids to best meet their needs and continues to come up with new ways to keep them engaged. I have been impressed with how the school has handled diverse learning levels by using small groups and teachers from other grades to support students. I have had issues in the past and the principals have handled it amazingly and left me feeling heard and like my daughter was truly cared for.

My daughter went to a private Christian school k-4th grade and we decided to change schools because there were only 11 kids in her class and she was starting to feel like an outcast. I decided to put her in public and to be honest, she has blossomed academically. I truly am amazed by the teachers, staff and their passion. The principal puts so much effort and time into his craft. I was hesitant about enrolling her because I saw a low rating compared to other schools in Milpitas but I can't say enough great things. Her after-school activities are amazing. EcoTASTIC club, yearbook club, mini mermaids, and more. We have only been with randall 5th and 6th but I'm excited for my little one to get older so she can enroll in the spanish emersion program!

I rate the school an 8. The school is doing a great job, and the positive fruits of that good job can be seen even more clearly if the parents are working with the school for the good of the child.

I grew up in this area and have recently moved back with my children, one of which attends Robert Randall. Things have improved significantly from when I was last looking at public schools in the area. The school has seen an influx of new families that take an interest in the school and that has translated to better teacher performance as well. My child's teacher takes an interest in his performance. I expect the API scores to go up in the coming years, my child has done quite well here.

I remember when I was here. I felt truly supported by all teacher even if I wasn't in their class. I miss my memories here.
