This is a great school that is a very close knit community within the community. It feels very welcoming, safe, constructive, and organized. There is great communication with parents, they definitely are willing to help anyone who needs extra help, and overall the school feels like a great place to be for me as a parent to place my child.

I have had four children go through Playa, two currently enrolled. The school provides anything you would expect from an elementary school. We are very happy to have our children enrolled!

Watching the different teachers and staff with the children was really great to see. My children have been to multiple schools and I feel that Playa did a great job. Also watching the para professionals interact with the children that need additional attention was great, meltdowns, speacial attention, every interaction I saw was great.

The school comes together as a whole and they all enjoy coming to school. Which is different from when I was in school. Over all the program is amazing and the teachers are very much involved with the learning.

I was able to participate in the school watch dogs program and it was very rewarding. All of the teachers were very engaged with the children make sure everyone was participating and getting the help they required.

My son has been attending Playa Del Rey since he was three years old. He started in the spice program and over the years he has grown so so much. He has become incredibly independent and it’s just been amazing to watch him thrive!!! I couldn’t be happier with the staff and the teachers on this campus. It’s so evident that they really care about kids and they are doing amazing things academically. We are so proud to be sunkings!!

Love that they have the Watch Dogs program for dads and other male family members to volunteer and help out at the school.

This is our first school year attending Playa and we could not be happier. (I have a 3rd grader and a kindergartener) The staff and teachers are attentive, communicative and welcoming. I appreciate the hard work the teachers and staff put in to school academics, safety and fun!. My son has gained great benefit from working with the school reading specialist. During the 2020 Pandemic, my son regressed in reading and writing so he attends Mrs. Volt's class once a day for one hour. We have seen a huge difference in our sons reading ability and interest in wanting to read more! My kids also love the school Social Worker. Whenever she meets with their class they come home excited to tell us what Ms. Carrie taught them about how to deal with difficult situations.

We have had a wonderful year at Playa. The principal is very active in the school. There are constantly fun activities beyond the classroom happening which makes our son more engaged.

We love the community in this school! The PTSO is wonderful and there are many events to connect families. My son is now in 2nd grade and has had wonderful teachers for the past 3 years who challenge and support his learning! I'd highly recommend this school to any parent.

Loved the teachers and staff. Kids loved the staff as well. Visually apealling, well kept grounds. Will miss it.
