In my experience at the school i see around the school that students are not nearly as willing to learn in comparison to the amazing teachers most teachers really are great at teaching in their subjects in my previous schools i had trouble learning due to the teachers especially in math but at dacula i can easily follow the lessons and learn my understanding in math has grown greatly due to the amazing staff and support

Dacula high school is exceptional!!! The staff and teachers care very much about the success of the students. They are patient, supportive, understanding, empathetic and compassionate . My son has sickle cell anemia so had so many absences due to being sick and to make up a lot of assignments/tests but the teachers and counselor came through and he was able to graduate high school. They listened to our worries and concerns and came up with a plan to reduce work load in order for him to pass his classes and graduated on May 26, 2024. Accommodations were in place on his 504 plan but the teachers and staff went above and beyond ; they are dedicated and have a passion for teaching. We are so grateful to have had amazing people involved in our son's education!! Awesome school!!!

Love this school! My oldest has been there all 4 years, the youngest about to finish her sophomore year. Both have excelled greatly in test scores and classes and extracurriculars. Are there bullies? Of course! It’s high school- every high school from the lowest rating to the expensive private schools have bullies. But neither have been victim of unnecessary abuse nor violence. They stick to “the good crowd” and stay out of trouble. I am proud to say that all of my children will attend Dacula High.

I am parent of 4 children in the Dacula school cluster, and we are extremely pleased with the investment the staff has in this town's youth. They go above and beyond and can be seen at sporting events and town celebrations. In my opinion, Dacula is one of Gwinnett County's best kept secrets. "One Family, One Dacula". I was really surprised to see the rating of 6/10 for Dacula High School. My kids nor I have experienced any underserved areas. Principal Long is present and enormously invested in Dacula and every single one of its students. First class. He is very focused and supportive toward success of all the students and the school's programs. Exceptional staff all around invested in the success of the students. Excellent teacher / parent weekly correspondence regarding grades and progress. First class, successful athletics department. The school offers everything from an expanse of AP classes to weekly remediation and study hall sessions for students needing extra assistance. It provides an abundance of online resources to support the classroom instruction. Behavior issues that crop up among random students aren't tolerated and are handled accordingly. I think very highly of Dacula and love our diverse community. We are real, we are a strong community, and we lift eachother up. Gwinnett County is a national leader in education. I don't know what else you could ask for.

I highly recommended to people to not go to this school. I went to this school for my freshman year and for my sophomore year, and I did some things that were wrong and unbearable in the past when I was there before the coronavirus outbreak. I will admit to that. But I will not admit to the fact that they do a horrible job of helping kids with special needs, because they only care about discipline. That is the only thing that they care about. They treated me like I was a prime suspect in a federal comic prison. I felt absolutely disrespected by the special Ed teachers that I had and my regular teachers did the exact same thing when I had them for my classes. Every student that has special needs, needs to be treated with respect by every single special Ed teacher because they do not know how to do that what so ever. They do not know how to do their actual job. During the outbreak when we were all in quarantine, I am pretty sure that they bragged so much that they worked so hard for every single student online. I beg a differ, like I am sorry to spill the beans for you guys but we are still in a pandemic. Anyways back to what I was saying about special Ed teachers. I am a male who suffers from autism because I am a autistic kid. And that is not a bad thing to have in you’re life. It is actually a great thing to have, a brilliant skill for instance. But I do not understand why it is such a mockery to make fun of someone that has autism. That is not even remotely funny at all. It is quiet a personal thing. I feel extremely offended by regular teachers and the special Ed teachers in the school. I never felt so disrespected in my life. Plus I never felt safe in that school because like I said before is that, I felt like I was being treated like a prime suspect in a federal comic prison. I never felt safe around people that were teachers and people that I started to become friends with that I do not know that person occasionally. It feels like you are walking into a school with a bunch of southern crazy rednecks. I mean I would sue them for harassment. Because I had enough of playing their stupid games because they were trying cause a sense of manipulation. They are very manipulative as well. They are also off task all the time of trying to teach a class to some students. Plus some of the teachers do videos of each lesson for each unit. I mean if I were in you’re shoes I would teach the lesson myself to the entire class and I would be more specific and helpful.

This school is a very good school even though many kids like drama but my gosh the teachers they are AMAZING. Shout out to Ms. Elder 9th LA she is the best teacher you could ask for. You can tell her anything and she will always check up on you to see how your doing. The admins are very good too they make life and school much easier and they are easy to talk to. And they give the kids 52 minuet lunches! The only school in Gwinnett that does that. If you are new to the area and looking for a good school for your kids send them to Dacula High School.

    1. The science teachers are great at this school. They teach the materials effectively and offer 1-on-1 help often. 2. Foreign language is not taught effectively. Teachers teach you in a way that requires you to memorize the material, rather than learn the skills and reason behind everything we do. Additionally, the textbooks are outdated and teach words that no one uses anymore. This explains why students don't remember their foreign languages after high school. The school needs to focus the first 2-3 years of foreign language on words that will help you in the real world. 3. Some of the clubs are boring. These clubs don't really offer anything new or interesting. It's the same activities you hear about every year. 4. Students don't really learn any character skills or life skills in advisement, even though the school strongly states that you do. 5. You can't eat in class, which is a dumb rule. If I have to starve until the end of the day, how will I be able to learn effectively? 6. School lunch sucks, but I'm not going to blame the school for that because it's the county's fault. 7. 9th grade language arts is the worst, but it gets better once you go to the other grade levels (except for AP Lit). 8. Teachers will talk about you behind your back or will throw shade at you. 9. The school offers lots of sports, but focuses most on football.

I personally went to a Parkview Graduated in 1980. Gwinnett was great then. My older kids went to Brookwood great teachers great school. Schools were good paid attention worked with the parents. Now younger child goes to Dacula Hs HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE SINCE WEEK 2. No one cares or even returns your calls. I leave messages and no call back unless it is a message that has nothing to do with the call at hand. But if they want to talk to you man they bug the crap out of you to get what they want. Forget making your child accountable yet push to make your child accountable. HORRIBLE SCHOOL WITH LOW SCORES ALL AROUND. No wonder the graduating rate is low. Shame on Gwinnett County Schools. NOt like it use to be when schools really mattered.

I haven’t seen a school this bad since Buford High with lack of respect by students and parents. Sporting events involving this school is awful. The kids are rude to other teams and refs, coaches. The parents say things smart comments to other teams parents almost trying to start a fight. Must be a rough area because the kids are hardened and the parents are just plain obnoxious. Avoid this area.

Hopefully, the administration can work against some of the negative streams flowing here. This school has a drug and violence problem. Fights and bullying are common. Racism is a stronghold at the school. I believe the administration team are doing the best that they can. I see police officers on site, often. On a positive note, they have a great sports program and they foster that strength. However, it has been our experience that you have to strongly advocate for your child, if they have any learning issues. There has been a new technology/digital program for the classrooms that the school is implementing that is amazing and leading other schools. The school's orchestra department is truly amazing, as well. If not for the violence, we would stay here. Hope it gets better.

I'd like to silence the false perception that Dacula isn't a top tier school. Dacula is a great school. The staff & admin are kind yet genuine people, that want every student to succeed past high school. The commons faculty members are very sweet people that encourage us to have big, big smiles in our faces everyday. The teachers here are helpful and drill us with the fact that we(the students) have the tools for success and only we can take the initiative to do so. Some students that may seem trouble some aren't judge as criminals like other schools might. No one is perfect. Here Dacula strives for everyone to have the chance for bright future. As for athletics, this school is a powerhouse from soccer to football. No short of talent here. This school is a great place to be. Glad to be a falcon.

My son is graduating from Dacula High this year. Overall I have been pleased with the quality of education that he has received. My only complaint is with the counseling staff, although I can only speak to the quality of the counselor assigned to him, I'm not a fan.

Dacula does a great job working with all students! The "Big Board" celebrates their accomplishments in and out of the classroom. The faculty is strong in content and care for the kids. All high schools have some problems with teenager-type issues, but the staff and student body do a great job to be accepting and caring to everyone. Our student body is very involved with the community. The test scores of Dacula continue to rise and are comparable or better than all other surrounding schools! Go Falcons!

As a student of 3 different High Schoolsfrom two different states, I can say confidently that this school DOES have a drug problem. There are great teachers here. No other school I've been to has teachers like Dacula. However, there is a strong drug influence. The test scores are generally high because there is a greater devide between students with higher and students with lower grades. There is a high drop out rate. Also, many students are transferred to dacula from other schools, because they were ejected for behavior from their previous school. This is done so that the school may remain 5A, for football region purposes. This does nothing but feed the drug problem. There have been new staff members hired this past year that may show signs of improvement. So there may be hope of fixing the drug problem, but it is going to take a few years. Bottom line this school has great teachers, a drug problem, and hope for improvement.
