The education is awful but what can you expect out of Gwinnett County. All schools are terrible in gwinnett but this one doesn't actually care about education. They only care about their agenda.

We have been here for six years with our children. Some of the administration here are very disrespectful to not only the students but, the parents also. You are made to feel unwelcome at the school as a parent. Our second child there is in the autism program has been treated awful. I would never recommend putting your child here. Where they comes across uncaring and rude. And all that matters are the test scores and the appearance of the school.

We have had wonderful experiences at Harbins. We have 3 kids who are now in 6th, 4th snd 1st grades. The teachers and administration will go out of their way to help students and we have always felt our kids are safe and loved while at school! Snd they live learning as their teachers strive to be hands on as much as possible snd keep it interesting and fun!

I do not recommend Harbins. My child started in August. In the beginning, I hoped for the best. As any good parent my child's education and social emotional learning are critical to his success. I am an educator within Gwinnett Co Public Schools and I believe in teaching and learning. I have seen substantial growth in my child's abilities and considering he was 3 when he entered. My concern is the social emotional learning that accompanies teaching. My child comes home broken hearted because he believes the negative reinforced statements that make him feel admonished as a human being. Additionally, I received two report card that listed his learning as below standard on 21 out of 26 standards assessed over the course of 6 months. Now keep in mind, not a single stitch of homework or practice activity has come home to help reinforce the learning. Yet the evidence of learning is within the report which reflects is a direct reflection of the instruction and curriculum. So, it is my recommendation that the academic program for Pre-K and specifically his Teacher are able to deliver a curriculum that is aligned to excellence; therefore it is not a good place for parents of children who are in pursuit of early high academic achievement.

Overall Harbins Elementary is an excellent school! sure there could be some improvement on some things but no school is 100% perfect. Harbins has great teachers, great leadership and your child will have fun and get a great education here!!!

My kids love Harbins! They really care about your kids and their education! They have great clubs too. My daughter has been in Drama and Solo singers this year and she loves it! My kids teachers are simply the best! Mrs. Garren is very understanding and patient. Mrs. Barth is a wonderful teacher as well. She has helped my son so much this year, he has improved so much in his reading! Mrs. Kohler is also a very excellent teacher as well. My daughter absolutely adores her, and loves being in her class. I'm so happy we found Harbins!

I know my children are in good hands at Harbins. The teachers not only care about their educational development, but strive to enhance their personal development as members of our community. Great school!

We recently moved from another Gwinnett County school to Harbins. I was nervous about the switch because we loved our other school. I didn't think it was possible, but we absolutely LOVE Harbins!! The school is warm and inviting, the office staff is awesome, and the teachers are focused on student success. A lot is expected from students, and my kids are excelling. The school's emphasis on technology and leadership makes it stand out among other schools. Teachers go above and beyond. Harbins is a great school, within a great cluster!!

As a parent I find that the teachers and PTA members are far more helpful and forth coming with school info/event info, than the front office staff. It amazes me that the people sitting inside the office have little to no knowledge of school activities. That begs to question...what exactly do they do all day? Socialize amongst themselves? Aside from little to ZERO assistance with general questions, they (excluding the front desk person and nurse) are rude and unapproachable due to their unfriendly demeanor! Upper management should really take this into consideration when hiring staff that portrays a a poor image for a point of contact of an ELEMENTARY school.

I attended this school as a child, and now by daughter attends (in 3rd grade currently). I love Harbins and have a strong love for the community here as well. We are currently in the process of moving to Dekalb Co, and I am quite sure we will miss Harbins dearly!

This school is a sad place. We have been here for 4 years and this is the first year we've had a teacher who actually cares. I do not know if they are not educationally qualified to teach or what the issues are, but it seems they focus all year on their test scores and nothing else. I have observed several staff speaking poorly to the children and it is evidently tolerated and encouraged as a tool to make the children behave according to what Harbins feels is appropriate. Teachers will sometimes respond to questions and other times I never hear a word from them about my concerns or questions. The kids have no outlet for fun or any kind of social interaction. It is as if they have completely missed the important things. And yes, the office staff is still less than friendly but I think we are all aware of it and look past it. We are going to sell our home to move to a different district. We are currently spending getting our home ready to sell so we can move to a different district.
