My family and I moved up here from Atlanta … My son who is in the 3rd grade who has never been in any trouble at all … with excellent grades is being bullied and made fun of by his teacher .. This is our 3rd day here and the teacher told my son in front of the entire class “This is not Clayton county we don’t do that here “ so now the students in the class room are repeating and bullying him … I went up to the school and nothing was done .. This school is suppose to be highly rated and one of the better districts …I don’t appreciate this school teacher LISA WESTMORELAND… I will be reporting her and her unprofessional ways of handling a new student ! And the kids that are not welcoming and being mean because of her comments!I am a supervisor in my 18 wheeler driving career for 10 years and I have never had to deal with this from my son … He is a straight A and 2 B student with no history of any bad behavior! So I thought this was a great district! I was wrong ! Terrible experience so far and I’m looking to enroll him in private school .. This has gotten me concerned for my son his treatment because of where he is from!!!

This school is absolutely amazing. The teachers are attentive effective and the administration cares about Kids!! I'm sad that we moved out of the area during my sons 5th grade year. He loved this school and all of the great events like skate night at sparkle. And the student bowl o Rama at stars and strikes.

Alcova is a great school! This is where kids should learn lots of things! The Administrators are Ms. O'Neal, Mr. Langley, Ms. Henly, Ms. Pond, and Ms. Fisher. -A loving StudentMy Daughter had a great time in 2nd grade with Mrs. Martin. She was an excellent teacher, leader, and mentor. I love the atmosphere and everyone is willing to help in any way they can. I strongly recommend this school to any parent. - Proud Parent

Alcova is definitely a world-class Gwinnett county public school. The administrative team are hands on, VISIBLE and supportive. Mr. Langley the current principal recently received an award for outstanding Principal of the year.. My children are in Kindergarten & 1st grade respectively and the Assistant principal that support my children is Ms. Henley. she has been an excellent addition to the administrative team and cares deeply about our students. I was impressed that she knows the majority of students by name. Overall the PTA is very active at Alcova and raised a great deal of donations for the technology fund. Additionally. CRCT scores are excellent and students have increased the meets and exceeds category over the last two years. Great things are happening at Alcova and we would love to share. I guarantee if you made an appointment and visited the school you won't be disappointed.

Alcova is an excellent school where the administration and staff ensure the full success of each student. The teachers see the potential in every child and help them strive to do their best. My son and daughter have excellent teachers, B.J and K.M, who have helped them grow academically with their rigorous and quality classroom instruction. Support staff is wonderful and very caring towards the students. Thank you, Alcova teachers!

This my daughter's first year at Alcova 3rd grade. She transitioned from a private school in Norcross and loving it especially her new teacher,Mrs. Saltik and her many friends. Mrs. Saltik made the transition smooth and she is learning a lot.Truly a joy and above all because of our obedience to God we are blessed.

Alcova is a great school, with a strong principal who is constantly engaged with the students and loves interacting with parents and a wonderful, diverse staff who go above and beyond to meet the needs of the students. The student body is actually excited to go to school- as a parent, substitute, and PTA member, I love to see the enthusiasm that all of the children, not just my two, display when entering the building!

A+++++++++++ All 4 of my sons attended this school from 2005 - 2013. It's a great school, teachers and staff are very involved with the children and the parents. The teachers provided plenty of assistance and options when it came to my sons learning disability. There's always a great parent turnout for just about everything, which was needed. The former principal was an outstanding leader, but the current principal is doing a fantastic job in leading the school as well. Thank you Alcova my boys all had a 5 star experience. I hated they had to leave!

Alcova Elementary has been a fabulous experience for my two daughters and our entire family for the past 5 years! Our new Principal Todd Langley has made some wonderful improvements and has been highly motivating for not only the students but teachers and parents as well! I cannot say enough good things about this amazing school!

Alcova is a fabulous school. I have had children in this school for over 6 years. I could not ask for a better administration and teachers. Mr. Langley is a wonderful principal, he truly cares for each and every child. My children have thrived at Alcova. There is a real sense of community. The PTA there is award winning! They have been recognized as one of the strongest PTA's in Gwinnett County. It really helps make the school feel like a family when parents are engaged with their student and the teachers. Parents feel totally welcome as soon as we walk through the doors. Mr. Langley makes sure that we know that this is "our" school. Anyone who would choose to send their child elsewhere when they are zoned for this fantastic school are short sighted and foolish. We have one of the best schools in Gwinnett right in our back yard!! Go Alcova!!

We love Alcova! The teachers and staff are excellent and the principal is amazing! Students get the perfect balance of fun and learning at the same time. My three kids love getting up and going to school every day. The principal is very hands on and he knows how to have fun, which I think is crucial for an elementary school. We have nothing but great things to say about Alcova. Very glad my kids have the opportunity to go there!

The administration at this school are great!! Both of my children attend the school. The principle and the teachers get to know the parents and the children by being involved in PTA and other activities that the school has. Being a member of the PTA has not only helped me meet other parents but I also understand the needs of the school and how I can be a solution to things. Alcova Rocks!!!

Alcova Elementary is a top rate school in Gwinnett County. Many of the old reviews should be removed and otherwise ignored because with all the changes in staff and administration, many of those comments are obsolete. We have the best teachers in the County with specialized and advanced degrees, our parent involvement rates have more than doubled in the last two years, and the overall environment is more than conducive to learning. I live directly across the street from the school and would not send my children anywhere else. Both of my kids have excelled at Alcova and their success is the result of the outstanding partnership between their teachers, the administration and us. My daughter regularly competes in activities with students from the "other schools" nearby and blows them out of the water in math and science. Our focus at Alcova is "Excellece Without Excuses" and we certainly have the support of staff, administration and parents to encourage all of the students to do their very best each and every day. It is important to rely on current, real information and do your own research. Make an appointment with our principal. Find out for yourself what really goes on at Alcova.
