Very painful, and so deeply sorry that my ex-wife moved to this area of the County, and insisted on our daughter attendi this school, saddled with poor leadership and teachers (especially one) that cannot help your child progress.

What I love most about AES is that the teachers plan their lessons to align with the students developmental level. Students are allowed to learn through project based lessons, interaction with one another, and not being made to stiffly sit at their desks all day. I volunteered in the classrooms and the teachers are constantly planning fun activities for the kids where they are actually learning a ton of information but at a level where they can best receive it. Mrs. Pfohl and Mrs. Tompkins have left a life long positive impact on our family. Thanks for being such amazing teachers who plan their lessons outside the box!

I would have to say this school has gone extremely down hill. My husband went to this school when he was growing up and that is one of the main reasons why we wanted our kids to go here. However the new principal, certain recess staff and some teachers have made this experience an awful one and detrimental to my daughter emotional and mental well being. One of the aides was speaking ill about my daughter to other parents and teachers and also speaking negatively about me and my husband to other parents in front of my daughter. When I approached the Principal about it he stated verbatim "What do you want me to do about it". I am sorry but the school is responsible for protecting my daughter's emotional, mental and physical well being while she is in their hands. She also hit her head recently and nobody from the office called to inform me. I had to hear it from my daughter. I'm sorry but that is not ok. They didn't even have a nurse look at her. I am truly disappointed and will have to go to the district I guess.

I came to Alpine for the schools, that was 35 years ago. I had heard that Alpine had great schools and moved there. All three on my children went to school in Alpine. One has his own law firm, one works for a doctor, and one became a teacher. I would reccomend Alpine Elementary and Joan McQueen to everyone. Thank you Alpine Teachers!!!!

There are many wonderful and decicated teachers but a few who tired and could retire or update. Recent principal leadership has been lacking but may improve with the new assignment. I would like to see and improvement in spirit based on challenge to increase student success.

My daughters just finished 2nd and 3rd grade at AES this year. So far, we have had excellent teachers who have challenged them when appropriate and gave them support when needed. AES had a new principal this year, he is great at connecting with the kids and can be seen before and after school as well as at lunch and recess talking to parents and students. I feel the principal is very approachable and willing to discuss any issues a parent might have. The office staff is amazing! The 2 school secretaries know every child, most of the parents and keep the school running smoothly. I feel confident that I could walk into the office at any time of the day and ask where my child is and they will know where their class is and what they are doing. Although we live very close to AES, we are zoned to go to one of the other Alpine schools. We decided to transfer our kids into AES because of the down to earth feeling the school carries, and feel very good about our decision and will not think twice about transferring our younger kids into AES as well

My children have been to 2 other schools before Alpine Elementary. This by far is the best school they have attended. The staff is excellent! Outstanding teachers and all of my children are eager to learn.
