We have 2 children at SJB, one in 7th and one in 2nd grade. They’ve both been attending this school for 3 years now. There has been a few issues with some staff and some issues with a few students. But, the principal and pastor have both been very proactive once the issue had been brought to their attention. We came from public schools, a highly rated school district. But, the community that we’ve experienced at SJB is nothing compared to what we experienced at the school district. It feels like a big family. My 7th grader is friends with everyone in his class, they all enjoy being with each other. And the children are all kind and helpful to each other, no matter the age difference. The older children are being taught how to be leaders. It’s a great school and I’m very happy we joined SJB!

School secretary is rude! Teachers look traumatized or like they hate their jobs and the kids. The teachers do not respect the children at all. Not a good school. Lots of gossip between the teachers too.

We had one huge problem with this school, and that was the Spanish teacher. These are only SOME of the reasons I am starting to feel more hesitant with this school. 1 She lets students fall behind in her class and doesn't care about helping that much. When a student asks for help she becomes very agitated and mad at the student like it was their fault they didn't understand what was given to them. 2. Putting her class above everyone else's, means she doesn't care about any other classes that are hers. 3. Late work, When dealing with late work with this teacher there is no excuse you can make with them to give you a break, Unless you were in a terrible accident they will not accept not finishing your homework. Some students need a break sometimes you never know what is happening in with their mental health. 4. Their class feels like a prison one says they don't let you use the restroom when needed, and they get super mad when a student asks to use it. They say that her class is more important than doing what the body needs to do. They also have a rule where hands must be flat on the desk if they are anywhere but on the desk they will get mad and tell you to put them back. These are only a few reasons why my thoughts on the school are becoming worse, when looking for a school try to find a better private school for your child. Thanks for reading.

After moving my children to district 200 public schools, I learned they were very behind in math and reading. There is zero consistency within the leadership. The current pastor does not return calls or emails. He has also done emotional damage to my child; I’ll leave it at that.

We send our two girls to St. John’s and they love it! The teachers and staff are wonderful. The small class sizes are very conducive to learning. The preschool is outstanding and a great alternative to day care in terms of cost and getting your child a head start in school.

Fantastic school! The teachers genuinely care about the students. The students are some of the nicest most respectful children I've ever met. We're so proud to be part of the SJB family.

We have two children at St. John's. We decided to give it a try for preschool after our oldest refused to go back to daycare. Three years later, we are all happy at St. John's. The teachers are wonderful, the class sizes small, and plenty of opportunities for parents to be involved. We have found more than a school, we found a community!

St. John the Baptist, Winfield. Our grandson is entering first grade this year. This will be his fifth year. Impressive is the word I would use for the school community. I see orderly, intelligent and caring students and teachers every time we visit and that is quite often. My grandson shows energy, respect, a true interest in learning and enthusiasm for his religion. He is typical of the student body at this school. We live over two hours away and wish we could visit more. St Johns has our support and gratitude.

I had two kids in pre-k at St John and their teacher was phenomenal. She and many other teachers created a culture that fostered learning, taught kids good values, and left them excited to learn more. However, many parents are not involved and the ones that are just seem to want to complain about everything. In addition, there has been high teacher turnover as of late and too much drama and turmoil within the parish and school. We ve decided we are going to pull our kids out and give public school a chance.

The best education around with the right price. Respectful students with involved parents. You don't find that combination these days.
