This dual language school is deeply rooted in the community. The parent and teacher collaboration is top-notch. You feel loved when you enter this school.

As an elementary educator myself, I have consistently been impressed by the caliber of the teachers that my daughter has had at Gary. Something that I love about the learning community there is that Kagan structures are used school wide. These are cooperative learning structures that promote small and large scale student participation. Students are engaged, sharing ideas with their peers and practicing language skills in both languages with clear, focused parameters throughout the course of the day. Also, two way immersion is, in my strong opinion, the most effective model for dual language instruction. Not all districts in our area are able to achieve this or are willing make it a priority – just one more reason that Gary is special.

My son went through the Dual Language Immersion Program at Gary School. I can't say enough about the education he's received. It has changed his trajectory forever. Also, it's my belief that the teachers of the Dual program are of a higher caliber. Each has blown us away.

I have two children who have gone through the Dual Language Spanish Immersion program at Gary School. They both were given a top notch superb education thanks to the hard work and diligence of the teachers and staff. Both were given the opportunity for advanced classes (G.A.T.E Gifted and Talented). They received the opportunity to also participate in a wonderful Music program with Orchestra starting at 4th grade and Band at 5th. They developed a sense of cultural competency and appreciation that I feel they would lack at other schools. The staff and educators at Gary are dedicated and really care for their students. They provide open communication and are easily accessible.

My three children have had an excellent experience in the Dual Language program at Gary. They are learning to be creative thinkers, have done well on standardized tests, and are becoming bilingual.
