Country is an excellent school. The Principal is approachable, knowledgeable and professional. The teachers are amazing and my children have flourished there.

Country school's special education program is non-existent due to a bully principal. Her approach is to ship off all special eds somewhere else. What a shame for the town of Weston.

Great school for typical children, BUT, I'm writing this as parent of a special needs child, where they are on a learning curve. They have 2 big challenges: 1) the special ed teacher who, while qualified and well-meaning, is very low-energy and uninspired. She is very by-the-book teaching kids whose needs are extremely varied. She has no creativity in creating ways to motivate, inspire, and teach kids. She is very sober and UN-engaging for a group of kids who need someone high-energy and improvisational, able to think on the spot to engage and draw a child into material which can be dull. On a technical level, she recommended a program for my child based only on past use, not my child's specific needs. 2) the population of SPED kids in Weston is too small to provide a peer group of kids within the special ed program, a major problem in terms of developing social skills and friends. The small pop may be due to Weston's having alienated many SPED parents in the past who may have outplaced their kids. On the PLUS side, Weston has greatly improved their overall approach to SPED...they simply need more talent at the teacher level and for more parents to place their kids in the school.

I was disappointed in Country School. My son is very advanced but I didn't feel like the school did anything to challenge him. The teachers were nice, but seemed very mediocre. We pulled him and put him in a private school where he is more adequately challenged.
