We have been part of the WUES family for 4 years and have nothing but positive things to say. The teachers and staff seem to really work as a team and there is a great sense of community within the school. The administration always put the students first but seem to really value and support their teachers. I especially love all the hands-on, project-based learning. From the outdoor learning space to musical productions and art shows there is a really well-balanced approach to teaching and learning.

WUES is a hidden gem. It is truly a family oriented environment. My daughter absolutely loves WUES. The school staff are AMAZING and will go out of their way to ensure their students succeed in the classroom. Overall, WUES is a great school (no pun intended).

Our experience with Western Union Elementary has been great! Our child is in the Immersion Program and absolutely loves it. The teachers are phenomenal. Homework has been a breeze. My child has gone from not wanting to speak Spanish to preferring Spanish in less than one school year. Would definitely recommend WU to anyone.

We were redistricted here from New Town and it was the best thing that ever could have happened. It seems like there's been a lot of improvements over the last couple of years including a new principal. I suspect only more wonderful things to come with the passion of the staff and families here. We love the family feel here, the loving and supportive staff, teachers that make learning fun yet still command respect from the students, the very visible and involved administrative staff, and the opportunities for extracurriculars and honor programs. We love it and I will be sad to leave when my children outgrow WUES.

This has been a great experience for us and our two children. They have a great EC program for special needs children and they work very well with them.

This school is wonderful! Do not let the olderappearance fool you! Inside this cozy school are caring teachers, administration & staff that really care about your child. Warm and welcoming, great sense of family and community. We found all teachers to be thorough and truly care about their jobs. A hidden gem in the country!

Western Union is more than a school. It is a family. The staff, from the Administration to the teachers, teacher assistants, secretaries, custodians, after school workers, and cafeteria workers -- everyone cares about every child. All children are treated equally and fairly. Truly one of the best schools in UCPS.

alot of bullying going on and over looked and always excuses and turned around on to the child getting bullied the staff thinks that the child should learn how to let things roll over them and not let things bother them and go and play with other kids

Western Union Elementary is a fantastic school ! It is small and quaint in the country but this is one of the many reasons we love this school! The teachers line the halls in the morning to greet the kids and they treat their students with respect and kindness. The PTO President is excellent. She brings the teachers and parents together to keep the lines of communication open. The students are the priority in western union and this shows with the commitment of the teachers! I was disappointed to see the lack of parent involvement in the school and PTO. I do not think this is a reflection of the school . In addition, the leadership of the school (principal) will benefit from listening to the teachers more and be more positive.
