We have been a part of the Edison Elementary family for 3 years now, and we have loved our experience. From the very first time we reached out to Principal Okazaki to express our interest in having our son attend, to the warm greetings by staff every morning, to the way our daughter was welcomed a year later, we have felt welcomed, valued, and very much a part of the Eagle family. The teachers are wonderful, caring and supportive, providing a nurturing and stimulating environment for our children to thrive, the staff know everyone by name and go out of their way to treat kids with care. The programming and events are thoughtfully planned (STEAM competitions, multicultural week, October family nights, movie nights are faves), offering diverse opportunities for learning and community engagement. The communication from the school is consistent and clear, ensuring that we as parents and families are in the loop. It’s no surprise that Edison was voted the best in South Bay—this school is truly a gem, and we feel fortunate to be part of it!

Edison's principal, teachers, and staff have taught my two daughters how to keep it R.E.A.L. with an emphasis on respect, empathy, awareness, and learning. Edison is working hard to instill good values on our future citizens.

Edison has a strong community with heavy parental involvement. We enjoy the teachers and especially the principal, and we have lots of fun connecting with other family at PTA sponsored events outside of school.

My son attended first grade at Edison and it was truly an amazing experience! The teachers are genuinely caring and Principal Okazaki knows each child by name! You never feel like your child is just a number here. They have events for families and have a once a month in-person assembly for parents to join. It feels like a community and I'm thankful to have a school this great that's walking distance to my home.

My children attended Edison Elementary School from preschool through 4th grade.My children are multilingual at home, so for the first year they did not understand much English, but with the support of the teachers at the school, they learned English and were able to talk a lot with their friends and teachers.When the school was closed due to Covid-19, the teachers were quick to respond. They were also considerate to students for whom English is a second language, and thanks to them, my children were able to enjoy learning and speaking English without any difficulty.At Edison Elementary School, there were various events for parents and children, and we were able to participate in them and enjoy the school together.The principal, Mr. Okazaki, is very reassuring because he is fluent in many other languages and speaks the language.I highly recommend Edison Elementary School.

I had two daughters attend Edison from grades K thru 5, and spent 9 years as part of the Edison community. In March 2020, when I had a 5th grader and 2nd grader attending, I was very happy with the way the faculty and staff communicated with all the families and kept us informed. When we transitioned back into the classroom, the faculty and staff and students were genuinely happy to return and truly made the best of it. The teachers, office staff and nurses are all friendly and helpful and it is a culture set by its amazing Principal, Jane Okazaki. I was in tears at 5th grade promotion this year and it was from the sadness of knowing my family's time at Edison came to an end. Thank you Edison Elementary for Keeping It REAL!

My child had a wonderful experience at Edison, all the way from Kinder thru 5th. The teachers & staff are very kind and knowledgeable, and it gives parents reassurance that your child is getting a great education. Mrs. Okazaki, the principal, was very instrumental with producing all kinds of events throughout the year, both academic and social, and the students enjoyed all of it. Both the Fall Festival and Family Fun Night carnivals were very fun, as were other events throughout the year, such as Astronomy Night, Movie Night, Ice Cream Social, Talent Show, Bike Rodeo, Math Night, Art Night, and many other events not listed. The PTA is very active and helps to put on many events and field trips, as well as 5th grade specific events at the end of the schoolyear. Volunteering is easy & rewarding and it's a nice way to see the kids grow up through the years. Overall, I'd definitely recommend Edison Elementary.

My child has gone to Edison from Kindergarten through 5th grade. Throughout all these grades there hasn't been one teacher that I wasn't impressed with. My daughter enjoyed all her teachers and I find them accessible and people that have a passion for teaching children. There are some kids in the school that don't take advantage of this fact and that's why I gave 4 stars instead of 5 for the learning category. The principal, Mrs Okazaki, is the best principal I've ever dealt with, and I have 2 other grown children who have attended public and private schools.

Edison Elementary is an amazing school with a diverse campus. The principal, Mrs. Okazaki is attentive and engages directly with the students and families. My children are eager to attend school everyday and always excited to participate in school sponsored activities. Ex: family fun night, harvest festival and STEM fairs. The curriculum exceeds our expectations as I our children are excelling on a levels. I’d definitely recommend Edison Elementary.

Edison is a really great school with such amazing staff. The principal, Mrs. Okazaki is really engaging with all students and families. She greets families every day and sends weekly communication to families. Mrs.O keeps families informed on all upcoming events, safety protocols in place, resources in the community and updates on what's happening at Edison. Mrs. Okazaki knows all of her students by name and ensures the students are safe and learning in a positive environment. Safety is a priority at Edison Elementary. Edison teaching staff is AMAZING!! They provide so much individualized support to their students and really provide them with the tools and skills to be successful! I have two daughters that attend here and they love their teachers. Family engagement activities are always so much fun! They host so many cool events monthly and really encourage families to attend. Edison also implements Second Step curriculum which encourages children to build their social and emotional skills. And their motto is Keeping it REAL (Respect, Empathy, Awareness and Learning) Students are recognized when they are Keeping it Real and celebrate students who are being kind.I highly recommend Edison Elementary! It's a great school and my daughters love it here!

I'm not quite sure where to begin to express my gratitude for the staff and teachers at Edison. We have had three children at this school over the past four years and have enjoyed every moment. All of the teachers are so engaged with the kids, individualize their experiences, and pay attention to the needs of each child. We felt supported at both ends of the learning spectrum- when our child needed extra help or an extra challenge- our needs were met at every step. The administration/office staff is fantastic and so helpful. The principal is exceptional, knows each student well, and does an outstanding job of matching kids to teachers. During the pandemic the switch to distance learning was seamless and we never skipped a beat. My kids love going to school and have made so many friends. The PTA does a great job of engaging families and have tons of events planned throughout the year. I always felt welcome to volunteer if I had time but never pressured if I didn't have the bandwidth. Edison has been a quintessential elementary experience for our kids and they are set up for success in middle school and beyond.

Edison is a great school! The principle Mrs. Okazaki is very kind and easy to reach, staff is all friendly and teachers are nice & responsive. My daughter had attended Edison since Kinder to 5th grade and her brother will soon join Edison :) Overall, they're a wonderful school and I highly recommend Edison to all parents.

I have 2 kids who attend Edison, 2nd grader and 5th grader who just finished and its on his way to Middle School. He enjoyed every year at Edison. Teachers, Staff, Principal, and Students are the best! The school is very clean and safe.

I have had an excellent experience in Edison Elementary for past 3 years . My daughter graduated from Edison this year and I hope middle would find my daughter punctual, responsible, respectful ready to learn as she Thad taught these skills in her school. My son is promoted to 5th grade and my younger son ready to join Edison kindergarten. I hope and wish they both have an amazing experience and graduated from Edison with all the aspects and learning that lead them to a successful life.
