North High's Early College Program is truly amazing! By the end of senior year, my daughter will be able to earn her AA degree and her high school diploma saving tens of thousands of dollars for our family. This is such a blessing, saving my daughter both time and money to jump start her life after high school. She is still able to participate in clubs, sports, ASB, it's wonderful! Teachers are amazing, administrators and everyone in the office are friendly and helpful!

The education my son received in this school exceeded my expectations. Both the students and teachers are friendly and respectful. The curriculum can be hard but it motivated my son to work harder and achieve higher goals. The teachers are very welcoming and open to help. They are easy to talk to, supportive and have passion for teaching. The new principal, Mr. Nitake, is wonderful. He is approachable, warm, welcoming and has best interests for both the school and students. What I like about this school is that it provides a lot of opportunities for the students in term of summer internships or college workshops in different vocational fields. They also take students to visit local companies to get them interested in different occupations. The school also provides good resources for both the students and parents to research different occupations and college workshops, which are very valuable.

This school simply has too much homework. It makes it hard for kids to have any extra-curricular activities. Teachers seem to like busy-work over learning in class. There is a reason more families are deciding to go to other schools in Torrance to avoid this undue stress, which serves no purpose other than to increase the anxiety levels of the students. Another problem is each teacher gives out differing levels of homework, so one student in one class may have less while another may have a lot more, studying the same subject but with a different teacher. So you might be fine by the luck of the draw in any given year.

Teachers are strict but they know what is best for us and they have an outstanding way of teaching. They take the time to explain things over and over until the class understands it.
