Overall, we’ve had a great experience here, but my oldest is only in kindergarten. She has learned a lot and the teachers have been great.

Sad. My child has had 5 teachers in 2 years...many aren't fully certified, and don't even teach their class.

having two children at West Park Elementary for two school years and the first was a partial year due to a move my children have excelled and are remaining on honor roll and thriving under the staff there.

SKUSD and this educational institution are inept and void of any imagination when it comes to providing students with any sort of positive educational substance. Costs continue to increase but the school boards lackluster efforts continue its downward spiral.

Westpark, more specificaly, the SKUSD school board is a joke. They do nothing to correct behavior, but instead punish children after the fact. My child has been bullied and when he fought back he was punished while the other students involved had no consequences. The campus aids hand out pink slips like candy, but the administration (Principal Hargus) never calls or meets with parents. This school needs better administration and bully awareness.

Westpark elementary was suppose to be a really good school. Ever since I put my child there he has been made fun of because he wears glasses. His teacher is different. My child's levels in reading and in math have dropped since he has been there. I agree with some other parents this teacher isn't one of the better ones and the principal seems to be texting everytime I have been there. I am still waiting for approval to help in the classroom since January 2013 and I work in the district. My child gets standards for going to the restroom later in the day, because he is interrupting the class. I don't get it. Westpark was suppose to be the best. I am not the only parent with the same problem. But no one wants to hear it.

My daughter had gone to westpark for 2 years now, and so far its been great. She has loved her teachers and all the friends she has made. I would say Westpark is a good school to send your kids. The office staff is nice and caring they know us by first name basis. The staff is friendly and the school is always cleaned. I love that there is an after school program for my daughter to attend. I dont agree on some of the stuff the districk has them doing, but thats not them. Its a agreat school

spec. ed classes ar wonderful, they have my son doing stuff i never thought possible. the regular ed is a joke. my kindergartener hates it. they make them play outside when it is below freezing, the teacher constantly complain about being over worked. she never listens to my concerns just has the parent volunteer send me notes home saying my child needs extra help. isnt that her job.

I feel westpark has succeeded in nurturing my children in Rosamond I have had nothing but great experiences with all the teachers even the ones my children have not had. The office staff is always friendly and helpful, My children are superattendent honor roll. I believe it comes from the great enthusiasum and commitment of the teachers along with the family commitments to our children. I will be greatlly sadden when our last child graduates 5th grade in 2011 and will miss all of the staff. They also have a great janitor system and the principal is outside greating parents or always available.

I have had experience with this school, they are not helpful or considerate with your childs individual eduacational needs. Most of the teachers are horrible. What do they really do anyway.....they have teachers aid, and volunter parents, but yet they can not meet the needs for individuals. It is a joke and am educating myself on my childrens rights, and parent rights.

This school is very poorly ran.The teachers are very poor with patience with kid.My son attends the school and admittingly has a behavior problem along with a reading problem . I constantly have discussions with the principal and she has no better solution than to put him in the office for his behavior were he has to do his work with no or little help.Than gets in trouble for not finishing his work.In which he needs help with some of it.His teacher and principal feels it is ok to just dump the kids desk out on the floor and tell them to pick this pig pen up after she dumps it which is very disrespectful. My son gets in trouble for needing to use the restroom during class time and is marked tardy for entering the school as the bell rings. My son will be removed soon!!!!
