My daughter attended 1st grade here. She attended K out of state and was in GATE. When I was enrolling her I inquired about GATE or any other extra curricular or advanced classes. The lady in the office literally laughed at me, saying they don't having the funding for any of that. 1/2 way through the school year was the last we saw of her teacher and her class had half a dozen different subs throughout the last 1/2 of the yr. When I asked what happened to her teacher I was told they couldn't tell me and when I asked if or when he would be returning they simply said they don't know. Absolutely nothing extra was offered, but as soon as she was absent I received multiple notices stating she could come in on a Sat to make up her absence by sitting in a room doing nothing educational (but at least the school would get their funding). "PE" consisted of their regular teacher (or should I say whichever sub they had that day) having the class run to the fence and back...never any organized sports or other forms of exercise. At the end of the school yr I pulled her out and felt like that year was a waste of our time.

I adopted a nine year old in 4th grade who had a very rough start. She was unable to form sentences when she moved in with me & has been in speech her whole academic life which has put her in danger of failing every single year. Each year I swear she got the best teachers who really cared about her success. Each year her grades improved but she still struggled in reading. This year she's ending the school year with all A's & B's!!! I a very excited that I will be able to attend an awards ceremony for something academic & not just behavior. This would not be possible without her determination & all of her awesome teachers (Mr. Warfield - 4th grade, Mrs. Chitwood - 3rd grade, Mrs. Starkey - 2nd Grade & Mrs. Lizotte - 1st Grade). I would also like to add that the principal, Mr. Torres, is the best principal ever! He is so dedicated & makes it a point to get to know the students. He's funny & always welcoming. Also, the school offers an awesome after school program as well!

Rosamond Elementary is an amazing school from it's students to the whole staff. We have embraced the belief that it takes a village to raise a child. The school staff is dedicated and working hard on a daily basis to improve it's teaching process while ensuring that the students grow not only academically but as a a strong responsible global citizen. Treat yourself to a nice visit and come check us out.

I'M SAD THAT ROSAMOND OFFERS NO SPECIAL EDUCATION...WHERE IS AMERICA GOING WITH NO EDUCATION. MY SON REQUIRES A MORE INTENSE ONE ON ONE EDUCATIONAL SETTING. DENIED. NO MONEY. NO EDUCATION!!!

Rosamond Elementary is deserving of a gold star, to say the least. The principal is amazing. He is kind, diligent, energetic and driven to make our school the best it can be. There should be more principals, and people in general, like him. He takes time out of his busy day to get to know each child and make them feel as though their voice is important and can be heard. Mr. Nino Torres entered into his position half way through a chaotic school year and had a mess to clean up. He took on the challenges and helped to make our school more efficient and more consistent. He has been an amazing source of support for our new PTA, as a matter of fact, he informed us of this opportunity to help our poor little school out. Our school is located in a predominately low in come area with a high percentage of non-english speaking parents. If our school were to win it could make a huge difference in our 739 student's educational environment. For a lot of our students, the only chance to really learn comes from the time spent at Rosamond Elementary. This is also a chance for our principal to receive some sort of recognition for all that he has brought to our school. Thank you Mr. Torres!

My daughter attended this school from first grade to graduating this year from fith. This is a wonderful school!!! My daughter had amazing teachers every year she attended. The staff kept a close watchful eye on her knowing she had asthma, I felt she was safe and taken care of. I was really sad to see her have to leave this school and advance to middle school. Every parent should know if their child attends this school they will be safe and get a great education.

This is the best school. My students are challenged and encouraged. The principal has created a safe school and is ALWAYS at school. We have called her and she returns our phone call the same day. Not like the Middle school where the principal is never at school, and is a completely unsafe campus. My child comes home and tells us about fights everyday. We have call Mr. Smith and are still waiting for his call. Rockin' Robins are the best. The teachers and staff are great.

MY childeren have gone to Rosamond elem. for two years now. I have a 5th grader this year, and twins in kindergarten. My experiance has been quite Good thus far. My son and i both didn't care for the teacher he had last yr. but he still seemed to do well. We came from a private school so we r kinda used to being spoiled. However it was a easy ajustment. My children feel at home at RES. As a mother you can't ask for much more, Mrs.Buxton is very present on campus and is involved with the children and staff. She talks to the kids in a way that she would her own kids," like giving them nicknames".There is a great teacher to have in every grade. The ladies in the office are more than willing to always help the kids. thanks RES for making the learning process a joyful one... - A Loving mother_

My kids have gone here for 3 years now and what I love about the teachers/classes here is that the teachers try to give experiences to the kids rather than dumping piles of information over their heads. The kids seem to learn so much more in that kind of environment. The principals have been excellent managers and focus on rewarding the students. Plus Mrs. Buxton is hot!
