We love SHS, it’s like family around here. Teachers care for their students. Everyone is very welcoming. Kids are friendly. Staff is nice. Campus is clean. Great procedures in place. I observed the students during an emergency drill & I couldn’t be more impress with how well they all exited the classrooms, quietly & in orderly fashion, it was a sight to be seeing from the littlest to the oldest. Excellent drills!! Mass service is great I love that students learn about their Christian values & it shows. My child loves the school & I couldn’t be happier. They offer before & after care which is very convenient for when I have to work early or work late. My daughter loves the ladies in extended care they are very attentive & give them great crafts to pass the time. I especially enjoy how parents come together for the various community activities happening throughout the year. Also safety is of great priority! They have surveillance all throughout the school & security guard on campus at all times. SHS also provides students with great technology & 1:1 iPads for all their students. Very convenient! My daughter is learning a great deal!! Check out the school for yourself & learn more about all the exciting programs they have going on at SHS in Lancaster, Ca Antelope Valley’s hidden gem for more than 70 years.

Don't waste your hard earned dollars. Don't risk your child's safety, emotional development or self respect. Run away!

Excellent! The graduating class had three out of the top five students attending Paraclete High School! Wow, go Sacred Heart! The sports teams won several sportsmanship trophies this past year too!

Well, there is another mass exodus of students from this school. Things have not changed at all. Recently, the Principal approached parents asking them to write great reviews for the school. He shouldn't have to ask, if you like the school, you will review it with all 5 stars. He shouldn't have to ask. He is only asking since all of the teaching staff has been replaced in the last two years since all of them left for other jobs. Two were fired for bad behavior. The only original staff member there for the last 10 years is the Principal. This school went from 350 students to about 100 in two years. All the positive promotion of a lousy school does, is waste parents time placing their students, just to have to take them out and move them again. Yes, the school is that bad. What is the problem? The Principal. He is a bad decision maker that cannot handle behavior problems with the students.

We Left. The priest and principal said if the way they handled things want good we could leave. So we did. My only regret is we didn't leave faster.

Horrible! I’m not sure which is worse: the incompetent principal or most of the teachers he has personally hired!

If you have a 4th grader this school is for you Mrs. Gaharon is the best teacher ever. The other teachers don't care if the kids cant read or write. the kids ae allowed to do what ever they want with no discipline.

The quality of the education has gone down hill. The principal is a poor leader that can't make a decision. Bullying is a issue that is ignored. Children fall through the crack and they do not get the help needed. The school itself is very rundown with no plan to fix it up. They have been trying to install camera on campus for over 7 years the kids are not safe here as the neighborhood is bad crimes wise. look for a different school

Very Nice School with caring teachers, but very large classes (36 students) and run down facilities (dark small classrooms, no playground equipment, worn out materials)

I am a parent, involved for over thirty years in both private, public, and charter schools. SHS expectations are the best I have ever experienced! My children have received a top notch education in their spiritual, educational, and emotional development. I find it interesting to read a negative post that a person will put on someone's website. In todays world when anyone can go onto another school's website or business and try to say negative things about the institution or business you never know if it is a true statement. Your negative post doesn't match up. I love our school principal who has been at the school for 7 years and has over 25 years of educational experience. Being around schools I know a parent who had something negative to post wasn't being responsible with paying their tuition, or their child misbehaved. Five star hotels receive negative posts??? I've known the current administration for many years and he is very confident, extremely fair, and morally grounded. Stop by the school and come a take a personal visit for yourself. The principal has always made time for me. I have spoken to him as late as 8 pm, on the weekends, and via e-mail 7 days a week.

This school is absolutely amazing! Teachers all have their degrees and truly care for each student. My husband went to school here many years ago and now we send our kids here. It feels comforting and safe knowing that many of the faculty that taught him are now teaching our children. The school is located next to a police station and fire station and as working parents this gives us a sense of safety for our children. Their academics are top notch and there are so many extra curricular activities for the kids to be involved in such as sports, choir, handbells, band, student council, cheerleading, mathletes, decathalon, science olympiad, and speech team just to name a few. There are many traditional fun activities our kids look forward to every year such as a Halloween carnival, Christmas program, class holiday parties, Field Day, K-5 playdays, jr high dances, and Catholic Schools Week just to name a few. It truly feels like a family and am so happy to send our kids to this school!

Beware of spin--in a review, website, or brochure. A good thing: kids learn how to be students. Rigor & structure in classrooms make for good students. There's a standard & excuses aren't tolerated. I don't necessarily agree with how they achieve this--lots of homework, tests, & extreme grading. Concerned about some things. Yes, one year they got top scores in deanery, but..not done consistently year after year. Yes, top third of 8th graders get into honor classes at h.s., but..bottom third often MUST take summer school to get into the h.s. Yes, one teacher has an MA, but..most don't & only a few have credentials. Yes, school does well in academic competitions. Teams are led by the same teacher--one of the few who knows how to teach; top few kids of each class are on the teams year after year--not representative of entire student body. Yes, they do well in sports (not as well as they used to), but..this school is one of the biggest out of 8 in league with about 108 kids in jr. high. Some schools don't have that many in K-8. There have been times when like only 3 other schools will play a particular sport so they end up best out of four?!!! Not really proving much! Beware of spin!

Not worth your hard earned dollars, esp. since tuition has nearly doubled in the last ten years and a specific donation to the church is now required to get a better rate. Principal lacks ability and leadership skills to run this school. With the exception of a couple of teachers, most are not very good. They don't really know how to TEACH; they can read the text and give worksheets and tests. Only school that doesn't teach sightwords. In K-5, kids don't really learn comprehension and critical thinking skills. Writing is not taught very well. Then, they get to the middle school and they are expected to know it all. They are reamed and their self-esteems take a dive because of unrealistic expectations. They blame the kids--not trying or studying hard enough. It is very frustrating to pay so much money to not have your child learn. Favoritism is a big problem here; people play upon it, making sure to kiss up to the powers that be. Bullying is a problem, as many have mentioned. They do nothing about it. My child was being physically bullied and we were told to just ignore it. How does a child ignore being pinched, hit, and kicked? We regret getting involved with this school.

Classroom size is comparable to that of a public school in the Antelope Valley. This leaves the teachers with only a minimal amount of time to scatter their attention (hopefully to your child). With that said, they are strict and tedious when it comes to homework, which in all fairness is what some children need, but for those considering this school, keep that fact in mind. For my child who has always been a straight A+ student since kindergarten, it did not leave her much time to enjoy being a child and she was often under stress in order to be at the top of her class. (SHS parents if you read this- you know it s true, just admit to yourself even if a single word of it is never ever uttered out loud to another human ear). For this reason, and a few minor others, I repeat minor, I withdrew (leaving behind registration fees, paying additional service hours because they were not fulfilled) her midyear and ended up paying additional fees (registration, tuition, uniforms, lunches, service hours and you name it) towards another school which was also private.

One of the best public Math teachers in the Valley (who is now retired) asked me why I put my son in Sacred Heart School. He was absolutely right! The Principal is not up to the challenge at this school. The Principal and the staff have refused to deal with the bullying problem. As a matter of fact they do there best to hide it.

Sacred Heart Catholic School priciple, David Schatz, is a dedicated and talented leader and roll model. The education criteria he and his staff have developed meet the highest standards imagined. It's an honor and privilage to support such an outstanding school.
