My grand child has been bullied by students at this school and the teacher, parents and, principal have yet to stop it. The media is going to be notified if we do not get this resolved today. A child should be able to get an education without fear and an educator should care about each students welfare and safety along with their education and this is not the case! How can a child feel excited about learning when they’re scared? What would you do if it were your child? Report it to the media?

Excellent staff and community resources. They have many cultural celebrations and they provide their students with all the tools that are necessary to succeed.

Old principal set up a great culture. New principal is ruining it. Beware.

This school is good. I like the uniform aspect because its preparing my kids to get used to wearing uniform ie"suites" when they get older.

In my opinion I would rate Life Source with 5 Stars!!! I do not know of any other school that offers rewards to their student as incentives for better grades and progress in academics and citizenship! They also offer a mentorship program for students, counseling, and tutoring at no cost to parents!

They care about student behavior and performance. Always keeping in contact with the parents on your students academic performance and behavior.

Absolutely five stars! Have seen multiple pub schools who are overpopulated and students are treated as just a number. A Life Source it is obvious that the school has a vision behind it to tap into the holistic child. My children feel comfortable and safe at this school because of the positive attention she receives. I admire the programs that are in place for parents, scholars, and the community they have put in place. Life Source is not a perfect school, however for a school that services the community this is as perfect as it gets. I would truly recommend Life Source Charter School to any family who that doesn't care about the traditional public school setting and want their child in an environment where it's cool to 'learn."

My overall experience has been exceptional because we have grown as people.

The teacher turnover rate is ridiculous. My son had two different teachers, after the first one left in one year. They throw children in detention for every little thing. Don't expect any return emails or phone calls from the principal. She never responds. I don't even know how this school still gets funding. If you click on the link of the school report card on their website, the children are scoring below average. I

My daughter attended there and the teachers just standing around talking while my child was being hit by another student. This happen twice. I was very upset and had to approach the student and repemend him, then it got their attention. Their not equipped to handle children with special needs . The teaches get bonuses for the children doing well in their classes. So my child wasn't so the teach pushed for her have an IEP which was fine but her teacher in Kindergarten work with me to try to get her academic up to level, she is an excellent teacher , even had given my child a student improvement award. Her 1st grade teacher simply didnt want to deal with the situation. Didnt want her in her class and had my child sit to the side and not a mince the other students. During the IEP process the Principle Dr. Culpepper wasn't even interested in being there and didn't come to the second IEP meeting. I seen her once in the office and she didnt look up to even say hello to me as a parent and my child is a student at her school. My child is now in another school and is doing very well. The staff at her new school is very friendly and her teacher is excellent. The Principle at her new school expanded to me the true operation of the charters schools system. So I dont recommend this school to send your child to.

The staff is great, I like concept of what their trying to do with the students, with the parents on the same page everything will go great.

They seem to care for the overall feelings of their students. Especially when it comes to bullying.

It all begins at the top. In the case of this school, that would mean its principal Dr. Culpepper. She will not interact with parents and is not a great leader. With her sitting at the helm of this school, the future looks bleak. While there are some amazing folks there, how can they truly thrive when the captain is failing? What a shame. This could be one amazing school if it were not for this principal. C'mon, replace her or ask her to do an excellent job. The children's futures are resting on it.

The principal, Culpepper, doesn't seem to be interested in the children or parents' welfare or concerns. She has an attitude as if she does not want to be bothered by any concern a parent has. If you request info about the school she will not willingly give it, as if there is something to hide. You will have to take your concerns to the district. Also they have Spanish and Music class in which the children learn nothing- they watch movies all day, which are not even shown in Spanish. Their disciplinary actions are quite extreme for minor occurrences. It feels like I have to defend my child from the school's bullies(the adults) often. Other schools do not go to the extreme first, usually warnings are given before detention and suspensions, not this school. This gets a two star rating because the English and Math/Science teachers seem to be teaching the kids actual curriculum and wanting to help the children learn, otherwise it would be a 1.

Parents/ Grandparents, please do your homework. Life Source is THE worst performing school in the Antelope Valley with proficiencies between 20-30%. Are teachers held accountable for student success? Teachers are there one day, gone the next so I wouldn't know. The administration deemed it unnecessary to inform parents of the important things like instructors resigning. If staff and parents are not encouraged to communicate with each other, then what would you expect from students? Be true to your mission. As a charter school, you would typically exist to improve student academic performance, and yet not only does this school not do this, but is performing significantly worse than ALL of the elementary schools in this area. Look at the SARC report (CA state website) and do the calculations yourself. Look at test reports from surrounding schools. Look at how long the school has been open, how many children have been pulled out by their parents, and the frequency of staff. Also, follow up with staff credentials.
