During my four years of attending Lancaster High School, I could say I've had quite an interesting experience. The teachers here are very hit-or-miss. The adults aren't exactly what I'd deem as "professional'. It is clear a lot of adults try to be buddy-buddy with some students. A lot of teachers rub me the wrong way with how "comfortable" they want to be with certain students. We have experienced full-blown unprofessional behavior from a teacher acting like a kid who was messing with my injured friend who denied her a wheelchair, bullied her, and harassed us the whole time during a field trip. She talked to her teacher and they planned to accommodate her but the chaperone denied this and straight up bullied her for enjoyment because he thought it was hilarious to see a teenage girl in pain getting bullied. It was truly sad to see and genuinely boiled my blood. We planned to go to administration about it but she was so broken down from the situation she didn't want to talk about it.This school is ravaged by drugs and violence. My first year or year back from COVID, all the kids were violent and fights were about an everyday occurrence. Hearing about students overdosing isn't uncommon and hearing about violent beatdowns and people getting jumped isn't out of the ordinary. There was a literal race war that occurred during school that required large crowd control, air support, and multiple police units to subdue the giant fight. There was a fake shooting where our whole school went on lockdown and we were getting cleared by officers, some at gunpoint, and trying to go home afterward was a mess. There was a student who threatened to commit violent crimes with proof of weapons and graphic media but the school administration said "We can't do anything unless they act". We had to attend school and class with this student and hope they didn't go through with their threats so the school would finally remove him.The school is nasty but the students are to blame for that. The bathrooms are a genuine biohazard. I've seen sanitary items on walls and other vile objects laying about. If you take extra classes you are separated from the general population and you get to be with more students and teachers who care about what they do, but most are mediocre or straight or shouldn't be teaching, or around kids.Overall, I've experienced some crazy stuff and the people here are a part of the problem, but if you take special classes or activities it's not all bad.

This school handles bullying by telling the child being bullied to go on independent study. Some of the teachers WILL NOT help students when the students ask them for help. The staff is unprofessional in that they gossip about one student to another student. I wish I could put my children in a different school. I will not be able to forgive the staff for all that they have done, or not down.

Overall, this school was the worst thing to happen to me. It is full of drugs and violence. I got bullied everyday and the administrators did nothing. There are far better high schools in Lancaster with higher test scores.

LnHS has its ups and downs like every high school. I personally have never seen a bullying incident in person, or heard about one. The one thing that is unstoppable is the ratio of white to any other race. But other than that, Lancaster has nothing but praises from me.

The faculty at this school is terrific everyone cares about student achievement and safety unfortunately a small population of the student body does not value learning and has poor behavior and work ethics. The A.P program is outstanding and sports are very good. It is not a perfect school but it would improve if everyone worked together to enforce discipline and high academic standards.

It is awful that a school with such hard working teachers are not being helped by the girls varsity soccer coach. Academics should come first!!!!! Im not sure how his policies are accepted by administration. My daughter was trying out for varsity, not only did weight training and goally proactice with the varsity coach off season to show how dedicated she was, but was denied getting out 15 min early twice a week to take her Kaplan prepcourse that is only 3 weeks long. He didn't even give me a chance to explain the situation, refered me to the ahtletic director which told me thats his policy any girl gets out early, she cant try out for varsity she will have to stay in JV. I then spoke to the Vic principal and she said the same thing. Didn;t even offer to talk to the coach about it. Whey have a Vice principal in athletics if coaches can do what they want. tha is scarry.

This is a safe school for students. The reviews that state student body has racial tension are (as of the past 4 years) completely false. I am your standard white kid and not once have I felt threatened by my peers. As for students that did experience physical harm their parents might not have the full story on how that came to pass. I give this school a 3 because of truly terrible administration and counselors. When you have an IQ of 138 its annoying to be spoken to as an idiot.

My son got two D's and wanted to retake the classes to actually learn. I met with counselors and they said not to worry, he didn't need those anyway and even said he could just fail the two he was in now and they would put him in two Teacher's Aid classes next semester. I pulled him out that day, he was a Junior. Oh, did I mention he was assaulted by kids at his school off campus just riding a skateboard - they tried to rob him and gave him a concussion and small brain bleed! My daughter was getting poor grades because if she did well she got teased by her "friends". I also pulled her out and moved my family out of AV.
