There are many dedicated teachers at PSHS. Our 5 kids had great experiences at the school.

During the time here it has been a great experience. There is normal high-school drama every now and then . But , as far as learning goes the teachers definitely help me prepare for college. All together it is a great school .

As a former student, this school is the worst. The only way you would actually learn something is by taking all AP classes, if you take any non AP you literally will learn nothing because they don’t care at all. The only teachers I’ve met that actually care were at WILCO which is a whole separate program from Plainfield South. “The School Effectively Deals With Bullying” I got bullied all 4 years, even cried during the bullying seminar next to teachers, no one cared. Spoke up multiple times they didn’t care, only when I voice I wanted to commit suicide they decided to do something and that was to expel me. There’s too many students they couldn’t possibly discipline all of them so to them they got rid of the problem, me to victim and not the bullies. Please don’t bring your children to this school.

We have been residence of Plainfield for 20 years. Plainfield South was an awesome experience for our 3 children and for us. All children had many great teachers and a few clunkers, but you show me in school and that will be true. All three of our children are in colleges and were more then well prepared. Each of our children were accepted to many colleges and had multiple scholarships for academics and music. Every school is what you make of it and who you decide you will hang around with. South fosters excellence in academics, athletics, and the arts. It’s up to each of us to take advantage of our opportunities.

Their great, this school is good for students all age's from 9th grade to 12.

In the end, Plainfield South is a school that is clearly behind on learning and languishes in underfunding. I was so appalled at the facilities -- which were extremely dirty and old -- the disgusting food, and the administration's inability to enforce school policies.Many of my classmates were extremely inconsiderate and disrespectful, and many of my teachers were not passionate about their work and did poor jobs educating students. The environment is overall toxic, and the morale at Plainfield South is so bad that students -- and even teachers -- bemoan the school's lack of quality.Freshmen walking into this school are promised a sort of "college prep" experience that doesn't actually exist; the consolers end up being more problematic than useful, and the curriculum coddles students as opposed to exposing them to the real world. Students overall are given no guidance and -- to put it bluntly -- are put at a risk of having their futures permanently harmed due to the staff's incompetence.It's just all cringe-inducing. It's painfully obvious that the school doesn't actually provide "excellence" to its students. There's plenty of room for improvement at Plainfield South. I highly recommend freshmen to stay away from this school and go somewhere else.

let me get started with a few things here, and lets be grand about it. first off the sanitation. there is a couple places i would like to talk about. place number one, the field house, there is a variety of things to say about it, the locker rooms, the track and its floors are so dirty, such as mysterious substances on floors , wrappers , food , and just miscellaneous stuff on the floor. i will be making several parts to this review.

teachers are excellent, as well as communication. lots of opportunities, very few problems for a high school this size

I go to Plainfield South and I love it! I'm in honors classes and we are challenged everyday. We write lots of papers and are expected to read the textbook outside of the classroom. The sports are great too. I feel as a school we have great sportsmanship. I'm in two sports here at South and we have had other teams coaches talk to use about how great our sportsmanship was. PSHS has many different clubs and lots of opportunities to get involved. I do have some young teachers but not all my teachers were young. Even though they are young they still know a lot of information and are very helpful. I feel that the teachers are very caring and are helpful to go to if you have a problem. They listen to what we have to say. I'm also in choir and the music programs are fun and educational. We learn more than how to sing a piece of music; we learn about how to read music on our own, how to play the notes on piano, and important life lessons. The school has improved so much since our principal has changed. We keep getting better every year! I feel that people are generally nice to each other. I made many new friends this year.

this school is way to focused on there football team. a TEACHER told my class a story of how 2 football players were not punished for fighting and they could play in a game still, there in also way too much fighting. the administration also lets the activity of classes in the past affect the things that the classes now can do, and that i feel is truly unfair

Plainfield south is a school that cares nothing about what the students say but will do anything to please the parents. If you would like your student to have a say without you holding their hand on any topic , do not send them to Plainfield south. I am in all of the top music programs and the school rarely supports anything we do! I am also in theater and the floors of the stage have not been replaced in 12 years and parts of wood come off while we are preforming.

The school has made great improvements and my student are really excelling. I think the principle has made a big difference and communication with the parents is wonderful. Keep up the good work and go Cougars!!!

I had 3 of my daughters attend PSHS and would always complain about the teachers not wanting to explain the material. Most of the teachers are young and inexperienced. Too many fights. Deans have have favoritism over certain students which interacts with them disciplining the troublemakers. Very bad school do not recommend

Despite all of the rumors about this school, I have to say it is the opposite of anything bad being said. My daughter loves it, the kids are great, teachers very pleasant and ready and armed with information. So far so good for us.

I've been to many schools, especially in California. This school is so behind on learning and cares more about athletics (the athletic office has a flat screen television and a few other expensive things) while we have textbooks with covers falling off. Racial fights, plenty of drugs, and well some teachers are not great. Lots of homophobia, racism, and sexism. have fun!

I have never looked forward to coming to school. There have been cops waiting outside the lunchroom, and around the school because of suspected gang activity. I do not feel safe here and it's just a negative environment. The staff hides all of these problems from the parents! South is not a good school, if you're moving to the Plainfield area, look in the other attendance zones.
