We love the closeness at Charles Reed Elementary. We feel like family.

Our children have been attending CR since preschool. We have had a wonderful experience with the staff. The office staff is warm and helpful. The teachers have positive attitudes and give a big family feel. Administration is involved and visible in all aspects of the school setting a tone of cooperation. We did have difficulty with special education needs.

Disappointed. This school doesn’t do much to actually help with bullying and advanced/special needs programs are lacking compared to others in the district. BUT the teachers are what make this school. Very kind and caring. The principal and support staff, not so much

Amazing school, I've had 4 children attend here in the past 5 years, my 2nd oldest is about to graduate 5th grade and started kindergarten here and we have had nothing but positive experiences. Office Staff is amazing, teachers are excellent and communicate very well when it comes to students, and the principal and asst. Principal are very active throughout the school, activities, and are just awesome!

Great teachers and wonderful principal and support staff. My son has had nothing but positive experiences at this school. Also, this school is by NO MEANS racist (as stated in one of the previous comments). The principal is African American, the student population is very diverse, and my own family is multi-racial.

They discriminate against single Hispanic mothers. They would not even allow me to see my sons play because I had a baby with me. They were rude. They looked at me like I was trash because I am Hispanic and they were all white. They were talking so nice to all the white parents but to me they acted like I was garbage. Racist school. If you have children that are minorities keep them far away from here.

This school is so disorganized. I am very disappointed with my experience here so far.

Charles Reed has offered my son great opportunities. Since he was in first grade his teachers always tried to keep him challenged. In 4th grade they started a new accelerated math program which puts 4th graders in 5th grade math class. This program has kept him interested in math again.

Horrible school/faculty. My son is in 5th grade and still has not learned something as basic as creating an outline. These kids are in trouble when they get to middle/high school. My son was also assaulted by another student on school grounds and I wasn't notified until my he came home with blood covering his pants and shirt. No phone call and no disciplinary action for the other student. Despicable.

We have a fifth-grader, a second-grader, and a first-grader at Reed, and I really like the school. I've been very pleased with all the teachers. They work hard, take their job seriously, and are focused on the kids. All of my kids' teachers have been very responsive to my questions and concerns over the years. I volunteer in their classrooms, and I've always been impressed by the dedication teachers show toward their students. The principal and vice-principal are available and really care about how the kids are doing. My only criticism is that the principal could take more advantage of parent enthusiasm and use parent volunteers more creatively, but she's also constantly in meetings and has a tremendous amount of work - it's hard to be creative when you're incredibly overworked. As with any school, if you're involved as a parent, it's better for the kids and the school.
