Rampant bullying. Parents uninvolved. Students transferring out, teachers and some admin leaving as well due to no support in the last couple years.

Don't do it. Many people are moving out of this area due to this school. There are better schools in D202. Teachers do not respond to students emails. Parents have to get involved. Typical email response time varies from 2 days to 14 days. Remote learning here has not been successful. Prior to Covid-19, educationally, this school was pretty decent. There is potential for it to return to a good academic school. Let's talk bullying; it happens, yes it happens everywhere. Here however, my daughter was cornered by 5 male students and bullied to the point of tears due to not having an iPhone. One girl was drug by her hair out of her seat, fights have broken out in the hallways and a friends daughter was repeatedly inappropriately touched, pushed and made fun of. Like supporting PTO's? Not this one. They cannot tell you when items will be delivered, there is no time frame on anything you purchase and the people who purchase from you will rightfully continually inquiring and you'll be left with no answers. Student privacy a concern for you? Don't let it bother you here, they lost my daughters medical records not once but twice. I hand delivered the first set, they couldn't find them. My dr's office sent another set and guess what? They lost them too. Who knows where that info went.

Drauden Point is the best! Here we have a no bully policy that makes sure that all of their students stay safe and happy. The responsibility to help carry out this though is when students self report. Tech arts are not always going to be around in the hallways. Yes there are teachers you may not like but it’s important for us to learn we won’t always get our way. The fbi program for special needs kids is one of the best in my opinion. They get to have their own curriculum but still interact with everyone else. Yes, bad words are spoken but you can’t blame the school for that. It’s the parent’s choice to choose whether to consent or not. We have resources too. There is a NJHS supply closet with a bunch of extra school supplies when needed. ( I don’t know how if works exactly though) my overall experience was amazing and I am going to truly miss this place. **please don’t judge if I made a mistake in writing this, it’s hard to type long writings in a phone**

I am sorry to hear that people had bad experiences. I have had two daughters in this school and they had a pretty good experience. My first daughter loved the track team and was in the honors track. I will say that the bus situation was never the best. Bad behavior on the buses. My second daughter is now there in the FBI program for special needs and the teachers are fabulous. I agree that they work hard and treat the kids well. I am happy to report that they finally have a language program that is for 7th and 8th graders. Now we just need more technology. If you are having issues go above the administrator's head and that seems to help any issues along. I still have one more to go and I will do everything to ensure she has a great experience.

As a former 7th grade student and approaching 8th within the next week I have had some experience at this school. Personally I think the Teachers are great! Some may be a little hard on you, and some might yell at you. But, it is all for a good reason. Obviously the teacher would not be yelling at you unless you were doing something wrong. All those reviews out there from angry parents saying these teachers are horrible, you are terribly mistaken. I am not popular, I partake in any sports, I didn't wear all these revealing clothes, and I did not make bad personal choices. Yes there are some children out there who will do that and get recognition for it. But, I can assure you it gets taken care of. Yes, I am very unhappy about the language students have, and the fact it is not being delt with. But, us as students have to stand up for ourselves and everyone. We just have to take care of them ourselves. Some students are just ignorant and immature. There is nothing a Teacher can do about it. Trust me I have seen one try, but do you think they stopped? It just fuels their ignorance. Stop with all the bad reviews! This school is amazing, and these parents have not experienced Drauden Point like us students. I was never picked on by anyone at all, and I am not popular or Athletic. These kids at Drauden are very kind. There are just some kids out there who are going through something. So you have to man up and tell a Teacher. They will definitely deal with it appropriately. I have seen two kids who were being very innapropriate. Therefore I reported them to my Teacher, and in my opinion she delt with them perfectly. If you were reading this review to decide wether you should admit your child or not, if I were a parent I would. This is a very good school for education purposes, and to make new friends!

Good school, caring teachers. Many after school activities. Put in the extra effort when a student is struggling.

I received an email from Great Schools asking what I am grateful for at DPMS!! That's easy to answer...I am grateful that my children no longer attend DPMS!! YES, everyone has to decide for themselves, but who wants 2 risk their child's education?

I have had contact with Drauden for eight years. There have been positive changes. Parents need to investigate comments themselves and not listen to gossip. Drauden has the best attendance and discipline ratings in all of Plainfield. The teachers are the most dedicated and loyal employees. Like in any profession, there may be people you don't get along with; this does not mean that the teachers do not care! Stop listening to what you "believe" may be true and ask the difficult questions of what really happened. Administration has to make hard decisions each and everyday. If your child is in trouble, focus on their decision, not that the Administration was mean by implementing procedures that make school a safe, fun place to be. For every rude, uneducated comment I read about Drauden, I know that there are hundreds of positive comments out there. Like anything else, it is easy to complain, it is difficult to praise.

The score for this school is erronrously inflated because of reviews by 6-8th grade children. This school continues to be staffed primarily by unmotivated teachers looking for paychecks and power hungry administration. Unruly children intimidate those who want to learn. Adults take passive roles and no discipline is used to remedy the aggressive bullies! The only discipline ever used is on children who are absent for family vacations!

I entered 8th grade and I saw Drauden's true colors. If you aren't popular, a cheerleader, football player, a legend (brothers and/or sisters went there) or on any sport team...The teachers will pretty much not listen to you. And if they do, then they're probably one of the few nice teachers. The teachers say they don't pick favorites but they obviously do. The new curriculum is over bearing for some kids. And while the teachers will see a whole class struggling they won't change the lesson plan. They'll instead crack the kids down which will and does frustrate students. Students get away with things that they should not. Teachers get away with things they should not. I've been to schools in the worst neighborhoods that were better then this.

Absolutely, horrific! I just enrolled my son to this school not long ago. I'm so disappointed on how this school is being runned. We just moved from the Oswego 308 district, which believe me , is heaven compared to this school. The teachers have sworn multiple times to my child and his classmates, not to mention the behavior that students will get unpunished for. The last one was of a girl who had not only said the f- word multiple times, but physically assaulted a gym teacher. After all of this chaos, she is still in school today, not punished and yet still continuing the constant f-words. Not only am I furious at how these teachers who have my child in a delecate time of youth will use such language and force towards the children. But I am fully discouraged and not being able move, I have no choice but to stay in this location, if I had a another shot at bringing my kid to a better school, I would not hesitate to leave.

I love this school! The teachers are fun, but also help us to understand what they are teaching. The band teacher is my favorite. She is happy but it is a bit tougher when we need to get a piece perfected. The food is decent, BUT they should probably choose a healthier menu. Overall, this school is a very positive environment to be in.

I have just graduated this school not to long ago. It was a great place to go to school. The teachers were so nice but also tough when they had to be. It was always really fun if you worked hard and got your work done. They also had alot of fun field trip that people will never forget. Like out door ed, this is your 7th grade trip where you rock climb, do team building exercises and many more. The for you 8th grade trip you go bowling and play lazer tag. It was a fun time and i was on the last day so you could spend time with your friends from middle school cuz everything changes in middle school. But anyway if you are looking for a place to send your kids this is the place for you.:)
