My daughter is finishing up her last year of school here and has attended since kindergarten. Rowayton Elementary has provided a wonderful and supportive place for her learn and grow. She's been challenged intellectually... The Gifted and Talented program has provided her lots of engaging projects over the last several years. The school uses a program called "W.I.N.", or "What I Need", which allows students at all levels to receive specialized attention to support them right where they are in each subject area. The teachers are engaged and enthusiastic and go above and beyond to encourage students at all levels. The administration team does a fabulous job of keeping parents informed about all of the many opportunities the school provides for parents to participate in their child's school days throughout the year, from the Walk-a-Thon in the Fall to the Patriotic Sing-a-Long each Memorial Day. A strong network of actively engaged parents provide support for the school through their volunteer work as Room Parents, with the PTA, running the Yearbook and Carnival, and filling in so many other areas that allow both children and staff to have lots of wonderful extra opportunities for learning and for fun! The staff takes safety seriously, but the day-to-day environment of the school feels warm and welcoming. I highly recommend this school, and it will always hold a special place in our hearts.

The teachers and staff are wonderful, and new leadership is enthusiastic and promising. PTA is engaged. Overall, Rowayton is a great school for early education, but more could be done for TRUE inclusivity amongst diverse families.

My daughter transferred here in the middle of 1st grade. When she was having difficulty adjusting, they called me in and had a plan on how to turn this around. Every time I've called a specialist about something they've always gotten back to me. The teachers have been involved and truly seem to care about the progress of each child. Any bullying I've come across has been addressed swiftly. I'm excited about continuing on with my second child in this school.

The problem with all public schools is they rely on town funding and how towns support their schools and this is where the problems are with this school. They avoided putting my son on a IEP plan for years as it would cost more and then they let us down badly at the end of our time here because of money, so care and consideration of each pupil is secondary. Teachers are well meaning but many lack enthusiasm!

Great, caring teachers. Only school in district to have a before school academic program (Rowayton Academy). Involved parents and PTA. Overall, very nurturing school within a wonderful community. School provides an excellent education for our kids!

We have been so happy with Rowayton Elementary, from the very active PTA, great teachers, and the involved, approachable principal. Our kids have taken advantage of the great before school activities (Rowayton Academy) as well. The school does need more space so the addition of a new gym, art class, and classrooms are much anticipated next year!

Rowayton School is the hidden gem of the Norwalk school system. It has a very dedicated staff and the parents are engaged in every aspect of school life. My kids love the school and get a top notch education.
