This is an awesome school. We moved into this school zone last year & I was skeptical at first based on the bad reviews I saw about the EC program but they were wrong. They must have picked the wrong Bethel Elementary to review, this school is not bad. It is all about family here they have so many activities for families during the year. The culture is centered around family. The Principal & Vice Principal are great! Both of them are down to earth and easy to talk to. I am so blessed that my son goes here. My son is a first grader and is an EC student. Services provided to him are Speech & OT. They are so encouraging here. My son has sensory issues and was not doing too well when school started. He was in-between medication and the staff were very supportive. They understand the difficulty of having a child that needs a little extra help. When we meet for his IEP they are very thorough with his performance plan, going over his progress with me and they listen to my concerns as a parent. The teachers have had some concerns this year & they reached out to have a meeting so we could readjust his plan. They did not want him to get behind & make sure he was getting the best support for him to learn. Always thinking outside the box. It is definitely a team effort with us as parents & the staff working together to make sure my son succeeds. Both his 1st grade teacher & EC teacher are wonderful. His 1st grade teacher gave the kids a lesson on how everyone is different and you should be friends with them all. When my son does not want to participate the other kids will encourage him and get him involved. My son loves it hear he is so excited to go to school everyday. He went to a different school last year which was a steam school for kindergarten. That school was ok but when they found out he needed too much attention and it was not his home school their mood changed. I just got this cold feeling like they did not want us there anymore. Not the same warm feeling I am getting now at his new school. My son did not like that school either. At first he liked school and than 1/2 way through his kindergarten year he said he hated school and every morning he would say I don't want to go. Now that I am able to compare the two different schools I am so glad I made the choice to pull my son out of the steam school and let him go to Bethel. One of the best decisions I have made as a parent! I know he will always get the support he needs here & all the staff love him.

My children have attended this school for 4 years now. It is a wonderful school, so I am not sure where some of these low ratings come from. The teachers have been great and communicative, the Principle is incredible and so good at what she does. I have a child with academic advancements and they get pulled out of class for additional lessons with children on the same level. I also have another child that struggles in some areas and has an IEP and they get all of the additional help and support they need. It is my understanding that the school has a no-homework policy. Homework is sometimes given but isn't mandatory. This is so helpful for busy families with a lot of children.

This is not a good school for students with special needs learning. IEPs get forgotten and teachers play favorites. Also children are told not to be "tattle tales" when being harassed by others.

We’ve been really pleased with the school and were worried about the low score coming in. The school is beautiful and modern and the teachers are great. I have to believe the low scores are somewhat out of their control.

The teachers and staff do not communicate very well with each other when I changed my phone number they did not communicate with each other at all and had to send it several times, my kids come home with no homework and can't explain there day I would change schools for my babies if I could but due to there I.E.P level this is the only school with the programming, and the teachers don't communicate with the parents either.

Bethel Elementary school has no idea how to effectively handle behavior issues with students. It is total chaos, and the administration repeatedly suspends students in Kindergarten and First Grade because they don't know how to keep order within their classrooms. Parents are not listened to or taken seriously, they are merely brushed aside as mere fools who do not have the capacity to know what is right for their own child. This school would be wise to listen to parents concerns and start effectively handling the behavior issues of students, so that all children can learn and not miss days of school due to suspensions.

I have been disappointed with this school. This is our first year here and had I known it was this awful, I would have not moved into this district. Teachers don't communicate effectively at all. The teaching quality is truly poor. They lack the ability to utilize technology to their advantage. I'm truly surprised at how disappointing this school is considering Cabarrus County has some great schools. Bethel needs to learn from other elementary schools.

Awesome! This school offers a small town feel with some of the best teachers and staff in the state! Leading technology and common core standards bring this school above many of the newer stem schools and charter schools in offering excellant education.
