As a student there before it was great because teachers are kind and plus teachers are so helpful and if have a problem just talk to them they are everywhere and even there safety is good we had a threat in Clear creek and there was police and everything surrounding it so we don’t die.

Overall, I would say the school is a nice place to learn. My child has attended since PreK and enjoys all of his teachers. The school leadership and support staff know him and make me feel yhat he is cared for. With each new year, as a parent, we have to adjust to the new teacher, but that is everywhere. Some of the newer teachers need more mentoring. Parents should always be sure to work collaboratively with any school to meet their child's needs. In regard to the survey question: LearningIn my experience, students at this school feel excited about what they're learning* Teachers don't generally get to decide what children are learning. It's done by the school system with mandated curriculum.

I am so sorry to see that Clear Creek Elementary was rated so low based on a few bad reviews. Clear Creek was a wonderful school for my son, who attended there for three years and this seems to be a consistent sentiment throughout the school community. He previously attended a magnet school in Charlotte and I believe that he had a better experience here. The teachers truly care for students and he was always well-taken care of. The level of communication from his teachers was very high and involved. He had great friends and many people throughout the school were always willing to mentor and guide my son throughout his time here. The principal is extremely personable and knows practically all of her students by name. The office staff, cafeteria staff, and the custodial staff are great along with all of the teachers and teacher assistants. Teachers bring their students to the school as well, which says a lot. My son was taught as a whole child, and his teachers did not just focus on his test scores. He was well prepared for middle school and he received high grades and above-average scores on his NC End of grade tests. I am grateful for the experience my son has had at Clear Creek Elementary! I would not trade it for the world!

Appalled and disappointed. They want to put my son on speech therapy but he wasn't qualified to be in the program so they decided to labeled him under spectrum autistic. We provided a doctor's note that he was NOT in any form autistic and they still have it in my son's record.

It’s been ok. They cut the funding for the TD program so my child, who is gifted is missing out on all of the extra/harder work that he needs to keep sharp.

Clear Creek Elementary School has started my child's learning experience on a very positive note. She loves going to school and is sad when she cannot attend.

This school has been wonderful for my two kids. Unfortunately... we will have to pull out one of the kids (as the other graduated from the school) because... we don't want him to go to Northeast Middle School. An opportunity arose to put him in another school ... and we ONLY pulled him out because we don't know if there will be room in the 'new' school when he needs to graduate in the 5th grade, and we just don't want to risk him having to go to Northeast Middle School. If it wasn't for the bad times that my older son had in Northeast which made us pull him out in a haste... we would NEVER pulled him out of Clear Creek Elementary earlier than end of 5th grade. This is a great school with a great learning environment, great teachers, and they have fun activities that help the kids to LOVE school, and learning. What is there not to love?

Clear Creek is warm, friendly and inviting. I've loved the years that my children have attended. Teachers truly care about the students and go far beyond the call of duty

We have been with this school for 3 years. We have one child on the autism spectrum and one who is not. It's amazing and wonderful to see how the teachers with whom my children have interacted have adapted to the needs of their students, which can be challenging with 20-23 students. Mine have grown leaps and bounds with every passing year. EC program is great and with teachers who love and motivate their students. Administrative staff and principal are always available to communicate and address issues. Within reason, the teachers make themselves available through on line communication or simply a note with your child. I am exceedingly happy and pleased to be part of this school.parent. When a child does not want to miss school because they want to be there to learn more.... speaks volumes about how students feel. Our autistic son does not want to miss school because he never wants to miss what's coming next.

I think this school is just average. The curriculum is average as well. Parent communication is quite lacking. Above average students are left out to quite an extent. Curriculum requirements change on the fly and parents are not kept in the loop. Planning to have child do some supplemental studies to keep the child motivated in studies. Thinking of other options for my child.

My scool is Clear Creek. I saw the averages for reading and math and it was beyond believef. Jumping from the high 70's to 48%. Are they getting what they need at this doesn't look iike it. What happen to having spelling words how can you read if you cannot spell. Sad.

I don't recommend anyone to put their child in this school. The assistance children receives in school is terrible. Terrible communication to children, punishing them for the entire school year. Terrible communication to parents and making the children suffer as she complains to them for weeks. If you want to set your son or daughter up for failure, sign them up at Clear Creek! Homework was never assigned daily. The staff of this school needs to monitor these teachers!

Clear Creek Elementary School. I am very impressed with this school. My daughter is a 1st grader there and they have already seen her potential to learn and have put her in Talent Development Classes. I was very shocked by this since I have heard so many horror stories about CMS. I volunteer at the school with the Wells Fargo Reading program and other things they have. I will continue to keep an close eye on my daughter progress and ask lots of question when I feel the need arises. Kandi W.

Great principal and teachers and good atmosphere. I love the way how teachers integrated special needs children in the school.

The new principal is making some positive changes. The teachers show care. The con is this school lacks technology. I know students in schools that are in high Title One rated areas and considered "inner-city" schools that have access to better technology than the Clear Creek students. If the school will not offer more technology access I hope they will offer a foreign language.

This school lacks technology and is extremely diverse. Not that diversity is necessarily bad, but when it interferes with your child's education....it is bad. The teachers have to constantly reprimand bad students and their are a lot of students that can not even speak English. Yes, that interferes with my child's education BIG TIME! We homeschooling until we can sell our home!

We first looked at clear creek in 2009, we had pretty much decided to go with a private school. After a series of events with employment we had to seriously consider public school. We looked at the scores, toured the school and met with the principal. We were impressed and comfortable if our child had to transition to CMS through Clear Creek. Shortly after his kindergarten start, Dr. Ritchie left and the school has been in transition since. We were fortunate to have a good kindergarten and excellent first grade teacher, who identified our child for a catalyst program, in which they met with the Talent Development teacher during the week. Second grade was a different story and has changed my childs outlook on education. The teacher was not caring, condensending, played favorites and really seemed like she did not want to be there. We were on our 3rd principal (an interim principal), it seemed like no one was addressing our concerns. The school lacks alot of modern technology, that other schools have at the elementary level. Although I love the new principal and think she will be good for the school, you should definitely do your research before sending your kids here.

We have been at Clear Creek for two years and absolutely love it. We are especially impressed how the TD department for gifted children is being used to challenge my gifted daughter. They are always available to talk to you about any concerns.

This school is wonderful!!!! We moved here a few months ago from another NC town and WOW! I was afraid moving to a larger city would decrease my childs education. Not at Clear Creek. Teachers, principal and staff are top notch. My child LOVES school.
