The school's academic scores appear to be on the rise. I am considering it for my nephew since my sister is planning to move to Charlotte soon and needs a safe, diverse elementary school in the area. The staff is supportive and welcoming, which adds to its appeal. Although there are areas that could be improved, overall, it is an excellent public school.

The leadership team lacks in supporting and building a good rapport with staff members. Students are not held accountable for their actions which causes a major disruption for students that are well behaved and want to learn but as well as making the working environment extremely stressful! Parents are unaware that students are grouped based on their academic levels by high, medium, and low which morally and ethically isn’t adequate.

Highly Racist towards Non Africans. If your kids is a good to very good scorer please do not choose this school. The teachers are not increasing your child’s grades they are bringing your child’s morale down by hook or by crook specially if you are non African. Virtual learning was seriously horrible teachers did not grade my kid honestly she just did not grade my kid’s right questions to bring his grades down intentionally. PTO speaks for the principal for its own position. Kids are not taught to aspire higher even there is Zero efforts to do so from anyone. They will mark absent even if your kid is not absent, they will leave kids unattended in play areas so your kid gets hurt (badly) they leave special kids unmonitored so they can hurt any kid they pick on. Teachers do not listen to principal and mostly principals are not interfering. No in person inspections by CMS or principal or PTO to see what is going on in class. They will severe hardly anything to your kid in lunch so your kid becomes anemic and performs low. This school is a nightmare for Non African kids and families. If you will speak up they will block your phone or simply ignore you in all communications. You become invisible.

Not too many great teachers in this school. My child has been enrolled since Kindergarten and the school has really gone downhill. I have reached out to the Principal several times and was unsuccessful will all attempts. The teachers just don't really care too much for teaching.

This is a great school. The comment from another post is an unfortunate example of the few parents who don't hold their kids accountable and want to put the blame on something or someone else. My son was in this class and the suspension was well deserved. If anything, it should have been longer. My son had issues in the past with the typical childhood teasing but it was immediately handled by the teachers and Mrs. Riggins. Mrs. Webb even followed up with me the next day in carpool. The only drawback of the school is the parent involvement is lacking.

This school is a school that DOES NOT practice what they preach!! My Daughter was recently a victim of bullying, so since she decided to take up for her self she was suspended!!! However the bully remains in school! I talked with the Principle Mary Web and she has sided with the bully! How am I suppose to teach my child that bullying is wrong yet the Principle and her administration takes the bully side. It shows my daughter the justice is given to the bully not the victim!! I am so disappointed at the actions taken against my child. My child has kept up an A B average and has NEVER been in trouble now she is the one suspended ! This school and staff is always talking about doing the right thing, yet they fail to do the right thing!! Now Im taking measures to get my child out of this school!!!!... If your child Is a bully this is the place for them, however if your child wants to learn and be treated fair DO NOT BRING THEM TO THIS SCHOOL!!!

This school is great! They have a great character education program and the staff is top notch. This is such a difference from my son's old school where he had to deal with constant bullying and bad behavior. I've never seen a principal as much as I've seen here. My son says she talks to him on a daily basis. That's amazing with a 800+ kids. We love this school.
