This school risk every Everything and makes kids go to school in negative weather as the busses all spin out from ice.

I am currently a student at MMS, everything else in the school is perfectly fine other than the faculty. Teachers don’t even have the respect to let the students even speak, and expect the most out of the useless parts of education and expectations. Though this isn’t all the teachers, the ones that are like this are absolutely the worst. No inbetween. Good or bad, two options. Teacher confiscates my 500$ bottle of cologne and threatens to throw it away because other people used it. Detention for helping my friend with his homework - “Talking & giggling while substitute is in the class.” - Kagan 6wGold card for putting a simple joke on the attendance board - Brown 7wGold carded for putting milk on a friend’s plate. They consented and laughed before I was yelled at. - Grandma working in the extra help in 6w

MMS is a wonderful school.The teachers care about the students and go above and beyond to help students if they are struggling with something.The office staff are a joy to converse with and are very welcoming.The Band program is great. This school shows that students can be more than just athletes and every student can be who they want.

My daughter is in 6th grade and so far loves everything about this school. The teachers are passionate about their subject matter and keep organized. The band and music program is wonderful too!

My wife and I feel that the school lacks in a lot of areas. We have a special needs student in the school that can be an honor roll student with the proper help but he was told that so long as he gets a C on everything and behaves in class he is good. He has been an honor roll student in the past at the school so we know he has the brain power if pushed enough to make an effort but the teachers especially those in 7th grade don't care. They should be fired. The principal should be fired as well. He doesn't do his job. Our son was getting hurt at school and was afraid to tell someone for fear of getting more hurt than he was so he told us to call the school and have them check the cameras. They saw what was going on and finally disciplined the student. It is ridiculous. We would move him to a better school if given the opportunity. The entire district sucks.

My child loves going to school. The staff have always had an awesome relationship with both my children. They really care about where these kids are going and encourage them to reach for the stars! My oldest still talks to some of the teachers and lives running into them. I believe it's important for these kids to understand that if they act out they will have consistences. The staff is fair and direct in their punishments. Without learning this now... Who knows where some of these kids could end up. This is a tough world. Better these kids learn now rather than after its too late.

I don't like MMS. I am a 8th grade student here, and it was the worst three years ever. The teachers are so strict on discipline, they over exaggerate so much. The dean is the worst for girls. She acts like our school is like a private school with a dress code. I guess the education is nice, they actually teach you things and make sure you understand it. It can sometimes be a fun school though. But otherwise - it can kind of stink being at MMS.

I have to echo some of the other reviewers about disrespect. I have 2 children here; one has mostly kind teachers, the other has some of the most condescending teachers I have ever experienced bordering on downright rude. The office staff seem genuinely put out by having to do their job and communicating with parents in any way. Some of the blanket discipline measures seem to have no sense whatsoever. Seriously thinking about transferring kids to Parkland next year. Very disappointed with this school.

i feel that mms is a great place! the music program is really organized and fun, teachers are very nice, and there are plenty of sports and clubs that students are encouraged to join. the principal, assistant principal, and dean are always coming in and seeing how class is going, and the discipline is fair.
