Staff team pretends they care when really..they don’t. I don’t know if they do this anymore, but back when I was at this school, we only got to have 4 days off. That’s how a lot of kids came into school sick. Like seriously..how stupid is that? U only get FOUR days off for 6 months, and for the other 6 months u get another 4 days. Also, when I went to the “mental health” team to tell them my friend was struggling, they shrugged it off and went on with their day. There was also a time when my friend had a panic attack, and the “MENTAL HEALTH” staff told them to leave the room. The students are extremely rude, shouting out slurs every 5 seconds. There were 2 fights. And the staff doesn’t care. The only saving grace are some of the teachers. Mostly the science and English teachers. The math teachers? AWFUL. Rudest people on the planet who don’t teach anything.

Staff are extremely rude and unprofessional. School parking lot is complete disaster and every week multiple accidents occur in parking lot and school refuses to fix situation. Very disappointed. Had a great experience at Mchenry East, with west being the complete opposite.

Terrible. This school has been absolutely awful in so many ways. They stress AP classes way too much and they also have a terrible parking lot. One time 107 students were late to school due to being stuck in the line, and the administration called all of the students liars saying there was no line and no reason why anyone should have been late. 107 people.. I'm sick and tired of people being called a liar just because they are not academically excelling and because they do not have money. The school has some of my best friends inside which has made my experience better. This school used to have dodgeball tournaments and many other fun things like that, and They took all of that away from us. The gym teachers tend to bully their students, which is completely inappropriate. This school has been a crazy ride and I am very excited to graduate with distinguished warrior and show this school I can and will succeed.

I've been happy with the school's communication and opportunities offered to my kid. Fun athletic atmosphere and fan base has made it a cool experience to enjoy as a family. Teachers provide good feedback.

The district has provided my kids many positive experiences academically and extracurricularly. They have a solid AP program and counselors who are knowledgeable and care.

My first experience with this school was yesterday when I learned they would not let a Marine graduate in her dress blues. Absolutely a travesty for for this school not to support this young lady in protecting our country.

My daughter is a freshman at Mchenry West High School. The teachers and counselors have gone out of their way to make sure the transition from 8th grade to H.S. is as easy as possible. She is loving the first semester thus far and is looking forward to her future as a Warrior. Thank you for caring and making the transition and easy one!

There are two parts of this school: the motivated and the unmotivated. As a member of the motivated track, I've been largely separated from unmotivated students by being placed in honors courses and becoming involved in many of the opportunities available for students. There are great teachers, who take learning seriously, yet keep it light-hearted. The teachers I've had have all been supportive and very caring. (I even hear that the now-labeled "unmotivated" part of the school has some amazing teachers!) As far as the motivated student is concerned, there is enough opportunity here as anywhere else. The music program is strong, the athletics are.. still being worked on, the theatre program is great fun. I can't speak for anyone but myself, but my experience over the last four years at this school has been immensely beneficial to my character. Throughout the school, there are still cliques and separation, but on the whole, McHenry is one of the most well-connected schools I've ever been to. From the spirit rallies, dodgeball tournaments, athletic events, musicals and plays, it is easy to tell that those who want to be here don't hesitate to be involved. I love this school.
