Love the teachers and principal but there is no playground, no gym, no cafeteria and the room they do have floods when it rains. The kids only have two large concrete areas to play on which rips them up should they fall. Classes are way too large.

This school is entirely centered around making the teachers comfortable, not helping the students. If a kid is a very good child, sweet and intelligent, but has problems paying attention, they are told they are the worst kid in the class and sent home crying. The school secretary has no idea what is going on - she told us she had no clue if there was an after-school care program in the town, and it turned out it happens in that very building. Special events such as Christmas concerts or the school "Olympics" are announced a few days beforehand, so if you are a working parent, be prepared to apologize to your boss for taking days off last-minute. The school sends home a calendar for each month, usually missing an event or deadline. This month, the milk money was due on the 17th according to the calendar. My daughter came home on the 16th upset that she couldn't have milk. I called the next day, since we hadn't received the order form yet, and was told that the money was due the week before, and to ignore the calendar. What? Who runs a school like that? Now, let's talk academics. The reading list for K&1st included books such as Amelia Bedelia. For Kindergarten? 60 pages? Really? Last night, my daughter wrote full reading comprehension questions on one worksheet, then colored shapes on the other, neatly, because if she colors outside the lines, she gets low marks. Again, really? She could color perfectly when she was three. Can you please focus on academics? I have never spoken a word to my daughter's teacher until yesterday, when I sought her out. The teachers lurk in the doorways at the end of the day and do not come outside, they are not available in the morning, or by phone, and we have been here for 7 months with no parent-teacher conference offered. The teachers have proven themselves selfish with their time and not caring about the student's well-being. There is literally nothing good I have to say about this school.

I don't care for the "leadership" in this school. The school leaves the children in the care of "aides" who are not teachers and do not handle situations with children professionally. They actually go as far as getting other children involved and let the classmates decide punishments and outcomes of issues....UNACCEPTABLE! Isn't that why TEACHERS get paid? We have students punishing other students, and to make matters worse, they actually try to avoid telling parents when their children are involved in issues. I can't wait until this school year is over so we can leave the district and hopefully get our child into another school. This one is just a nightmare.

The kids are great and the staff is very caring. Parents are always supportive but lack the resourses to give the children that extra margin for excellence.
