Overall my children had a great experience at School 8. Mrs. Fego is a treasure. Mrs. Pienciak and Mrs. Mehta are top tier teachers. Mrs. Latzoni is very involved and knows each child. Mrs. Latzoni during the 2018-2019 school season has managed to purchase Chromebooks for the school so that the kindergarten class can start using computers as soon as possible.

Principal and Teachers know kids and parents very well. They are always very willing to talk with you about any issues and work with students to help them do their best. Very friendly staff who genuinely care for the students. I have not had a bad experience with any of the teachers so far. My child is in 3rd grade and will deeply miss it when she has to go to middle school. Mrs. Latzoni and her staff make School 8...GREAT!!!

The Principal Mrs. Latzoni is an absolute gem! She knows every child by name. My son is only in his 2nd year there and last year he had a great teacher. While researching schools I was so concerned about a schools "test scores". The one thing that stuck with me was advice I received from an unbiased educator. When you live in a diverse area you are prone to have children coming into the school that don't have English as a first language. When those students take tests, they are bound to have lower scores. Those lower scores are not differentiated from the whole school. So I'm learning to judge a school by the work my son brings home, what the teachers teach and how well he is retaining the lessons. Not by national test scores.

i have 2 kids in school they are very happy, teachers are caring and they seem to learn a lot, also classes are small 15-20 kids so kids get a lot of attention

I agree with the previous comments. That school has gone down the hill. No surprise that they have done so badly with the standardized tests.

Terrible school. I pulled my children out and put them in private school. Behavioral issues. My children could not concentrate b/c of it.
