My child had been attending TPC for 4 years and our experience has been exceptional. The teachers, therapists, and staff members are genuinely invested in my child’s education and well-being, and my child has flourished there. I am so happy that we made the transfer from the school in our district to TPC and I highly recommend the school to other parents.

I've worked in this school for over 16 years in an administrative position. It always amazed me the love and dedication that I witnessed every day in the corridors and classrooms. The attentiveness of the administration and staff to the children and their families is commendable. I have no doubt that is one of the best schools ever!

TPC is an incredible place to be a teacher. The salary is very competitive and the benefits package is good. The environment is unmatched as far as support, inclusion and positivity. A lot of employees have been here for decades, which says a lot. I’m so glad I applied to work here. The upward mobility is obvious. I plan on staying for life.

This is my fourth year teaching at the Phoenix Center. I respect the people I work with and I love the student population we serve. The Phoenix Center has a tight knit community that always goes above and beyond for our students and families. I also respect the principal and the entire administration, they work tirelessly for our students and staff and I've always been treated with respect here.

The Phoenix Center makes you feel like you are a part of their family right from the start. They really stand by their morals of inclusivity and putting the students first.

The Phoenix Center understands that each child is different and they don't attempt to make him or her "fit in". Instead, a feeling of belonging is evident in how they manage behaviors and support learning differences.

The Phoenix Center serves amazing students with individualized programming, looking at the whole child and giving them the specific supports they need to be as independent as possible. In the 20+ years I have worked here, I have always had the full support of the administration and my coworkers in being the best professionals we can all be. The school community takes a creative and informed approach in designing programming, therapies, and interventions for the students.

The Phoenix Center is such a special place-the moment I walked into the entrance, I felt how different it was from any other school I had ever experienced. The teachers, administrators, students-everyone was smiling. Everyone was happy to be there. Despite the physical, intellectual and multiple disabilities I saw, the common denominator was the happiness that was ever so present.

The Phoenix Center is a wonderful school. From the moment we entered the school we felt embraced by the staff. Everyone is there to help you and your child. Therapists, behaviorists, teachers, instructional aides, administrative staff and job coaches all play a role in our son's development. He just began his 7th year at the school and has made remarkable progress during his time there. His achievements are possible because of the talented and well prepared staff whose enthusiasm is infectious. The fact that many staff members have been with the school for such a long time, some from day one, speaks volumes about the school environment in which they work. Their experience and dedication to the students should be celebrated and admired. The importance of continuity for our son and all the Phoenix Center students is imperative to their learning and achieving their long term goals. Our son is non-verbal and they have taught him to communicate with an iPod touch and he has mastered many life skills. He will soon begin his first paying job. We are grateful for the staff's faith in our son's abilities and all the time they have invested in helping him achieve his goals. The Phoenix Center is very progressive and has made strides in helping students and their families for "life beyond the classroom". They have made it their mission to help parents with the critical transition to post 21 life.

Although some of the teachers and paraprofessionals are excellent, many of the staff members do not possess the necessary level of knowledge of autism and other disabilities to effectively work with children with special needs. Thus, some questionable practices occur within this school which may not be conducive to the students' learning and well-beings. Nepotism occurs when selecting staff members as well, which also leads to some unqualified individuals working in the school.

The Phoenix Center is an amazing school!!!!! My son was in district (Fairlawn) and it was a disgrace what they did to my son who was in a CI class ( a class that was for children with learning disabilities). The district had the nerve to have my child sent home daily even at times when he was there barely an hour. If there is anything negative to be said about any school they should take a look at this school.I have to say from the first day of intake working with Tanya and showing us every area of the school and classrooms, to Michele on he behavior team who looked at me while my son was starting to have a meltdown and I while I was trying to keep him calm she turns to me and says "you are a great mom", and lastly Beth who is on the behavior team I will never be able to thank her enough for taking away my fear of my child not being able to be placed quickly enough because of there not being a spot available ( she looked at me and put her hand on my shoulder and said I will make this work for you. My son has been at the school since late last year and has made huge strides in every way shape and form. I want to especially thank his teacher Miss Mairead who is an amazing individual and teacher and without her I don't know where my son would be today. This school hands down deserves every bit of recognition and award there is to be given.

My son was thrown out of his last school because they couldn't handle his behaviors. This was a very well known highly rated school. We were devastated. The Phoenix Center welcomed us with an open mind, heart, and arms. They knew they could help us. Within two weeks he was coming home smiling and laughing. It has been an amazing transformation. The staff has been understanding helpful and encouraging. They gave us something that we haven't had in a very long time......hope. As a teacher and a mother of a special needs child, I feel very confident in recommending The Phoenix Center. They care about all of their students and families. We really feel lucky to be apart of The Phoenix community.

Through our ups-and-downs with Autism, Phoenix has been a steady support -- staff has treated us "like family" They have gone above and beyond for us, and my son's success "Shines!" -- We highly recommend this school - a parent
